Hermanos is EXCELLENT! We visited for Mothers Day and we got chorizo, potato, ham, and bacon breakfast tacos. They were so good. My favorite were the chorizo tacos. They were not greasy at all. The tortillas must be homemade and some of the best I have ever had. The man who helped me was SO friendly and was giving carnations to the mothers that were visiting for the day. I can't wait to try their lunch and dinner menu; I posted a photo of their menu so you can see for yourself! Hermanos Taqueria & Bakery is perfectly located half-way between Lockhart and San Marcos. Hermanos has excellent food, amazing pastries, and a cozy, clean restaurant. We stopped by for Saturday breakfast at about 9:30 and were greeted and able to seat ourselves right away. Our waiter was attentive, thorough, and fast. We ordered the migas plate, nopalitos and egg taco, and potato and chorizo taco, all of which came out very quickly. The food was great; nopalitos and egg was flavorful, the migas had nice big chunks of tortilla chips, the salsa and queso were freshly made. The potatoes, chorizo, and beans were pretty standard; just perfect breakfast sides. The tacos were well proportioned with lots of filling, but not too much. As we were getting ready to go, we picked up a pumpkin empanada and a cream cheese empanada, which we ate the next morning for breakfast. These were phenomenal! Hermanos is a great place to stop for an inexpensive breakfast if you're heading through Martindale, and they do take call-ahead orders for pickup if you want to get your breakfast tacos to go.
