They replaced half of my roof just over a year ago. I haven't had any problems with it - seems like they did a good job and all leaks have been solved. After this recent rain, we had leaking on the other side (the side M&R did not do) and I called M&R to see if they could help with that. I haven't been able to get anyone there to call me back - ?? You know, I was REALLY looking forward to working with this company! In speaking with Aaron, the GM, it sounded like he REALLY understood the challenges of what needed to happen, and that he was actually EAGER to do the job. Then, I was promised a quote by the end of one week, then two weeks, (cause BOS had to review) then three weeks, and then after several email attempts and phone calls, we we are now totally GHOSTED. I can understand if they can't do it for some reason, or even that they don't WANT to, I can get that, but TELL us and don't ghost us. Long over due reveiw.. my reroof job started way back in January with the heavy winds and heavy rain. (Kapolei has very few thunder storms) that's when I found out my roof of 29 years was starting to need repair or replacement with a leak. I contacted my insurance, which I was told by several roofers that I should have contacted roofers first. I got quotes from 5 different companies. I chose M & R Roofing because Aaron has a CAN DO attitude and drive. Aaron provided me with not the cheapest but not the most expensive estimate. It was a very complicated job, 2 story, removal/replace 36 leased solar panels (I had to use an authorized company, Revolusun. Geoff Lee) Fyi.. M & R Roofing works with a solar company that would have been half the cost. COMMUNICATION On point from day one, Aaron answered all my calls 90% of the time, and he returned my calls. He addressed all my concerns, and I did not feel that I was being played cause I am a woman. Aaron also communicated with Revolusun to coordinate the project. Aaron also submitted my change of shingle and gutter design install to association. Approved the first time. We ran into some roof issues but the crew communicated to Aaron and he called me, problems solved, no nickel and dime. CREW Crew showed up, bunch hard working Filipino crew. Singing oldies but goodies. Clean up daily (I did find a couple of nails, but that's a given) Aaron also had the respect of the crew cause he took care of them. Gutters was installed after the solar panels. Aaron returned for the final payment and to provide me with paperwork for warranty. I approached three roofing companies through Yelp looking for gutters. One did not respond, one said they would use my Google Map photo to give me an estimate, and the only one who set up a professional appointment to actually see the house was Aaron from M&R Roofing. My home is an old one that has not had gutters before, and by coming out Aaron was able to show me that the home lacked the right infrastructure to attach the gutters all the way around. This was not something that could have been spotted from the Google Map photo! He also presented the case that this would be an appropriate time to replace the roof, which was looking a little tattered, as replacing the roof at a later date may lead to the gutters being damaged. M&R's estimate for replacing the roof was reasonable, and so I went with them. The replacement was scheduled at a reasonable time, given the rainy weather, and the whole roof/gutter installation was completed in three days. The work was well done. My home being an old one, there were some little issues that arose that the roofing team addressed without nickeling and diming me. I waited to post this review until the next hard rain, when I checked all the seams and found that the roof and gutters were 100%. We've owned our home for a good amount of time now... but never thought to put gutters even though we get a lot of rain in Mililani. Hubby and I finally decided we needed to get gutters installed... and at one point we were overzealous thinking we could do it ourselves. Reality changed that real quick lol. Getting a company to do an estimate for gutters is a lot harder than I thought it would be... I called and/or texted AT LEAST 10 companies... some didn't answer, some answered and never came out, some came out and never followed up and it was extremely frustrating. My dad recommended calling a roofing company and seeing if they would do gutters (since our roof is okay) and I went to Yelp and made a few calls. I left a message with Aaron from M&R Roofing and he called back within an hour! He was super friendly over the phone and said he could come out in a few days for an estimate. True to his word, someone came out to inspect the house, and we received an estimate (very reasonable!!) which we went with. Installation was scheduled, a deposit was made and a contract was signed... and we had our seamless gutters completed yesterday. The installation guys were very friendly and efficient! (I'm sorry I wasn't at home the whole day and I'm not sure if hubby asked for names) but Aaron came out twice to check on the installation and hubby said he was extremley friendly as well! What's a great way to find out your roof is leaking? When there are thunderstorms on radar, you're about to fly out of town, AND tenant is moving in within a week! Enter Aaron, who came out on a Sunday morning to come check out the roof. He did a thorough check and sent me photos while he was on the roof. I didnt realize how bad it was. Worse, the shingles he said were pretty new and pointed out and sent me pics of where a big portion listed and ripped off. He provided a lot of experience, knowledge, and explained what was needed to be installed to have a quality and warrantable roof. His quote was detailed and pricing was reasonable. Install day...materials were spot on, carpentry work great (they made a custom fitted cover for out old exposed gable) and with an army of workers! What was estimated to be a 4 day job turned into 1 day- because they wanted to spare my tenants the inconvienience. Aaron also provided excellent communication. I could not be more impressed with M&R Roofing. Erick and Saul met with us the same day we called, went up on the roof to assess the damage, take photos, placed a tarp, and stayed with us as we called the insurance company. They also went on the roof with the insurance adjuster the next day to be sure all areas were noted, so we would get full approval for a new roof on home and shed. Upon approval, we met to choose roof shingles with a 50 year tile warranty (3 year labor) plus gutter guards, and the new roof was installed a few days later! The crew was on time, polite, professional, cleaned up beautifully, and we even received multiple drone photos of each stage of the roof completion. As if that was not enough, the shed had some rotted wood which they replaced at no charge. The entire process from first phone call to a new roof took ten days! I am not very happy with our new roof. My wife goes in the attic and tells me she can see the sunlight through the new roof! They did something to "patch" the light but on the next rain water is coming in from the main beam on the roof. My wife calls and now no one answers the phone, so we call our resident manager who says "they always answer the phone", now my wife calls 10 minutes later and now they answer. My wife had called several times so maybe they have caller ID. The only way "light" can come through a roof is that something is missing in the installation as light cannot go through the felt paper, adhesives and roofing material. I hope this is not a long term problem that perpetuates for many years to come. 2 reapirs on a new roof? At the suggestion of a neighbor who had positive replacement roofing and gutter experience with M and R Roofers, we solicited a quotation from them for gutter replacement. They were very responsive and came out to assess the project and provide a quote promptly. After acceptance we were given multiple dates, none of which were met. I had to escalate and was then given a date for the following day. They did a very good job once on-site to do the work. Integrity and honoring commitments in business dealings is important to me. I am rating them as 4 stars, as I appreciate the quality of their work product though I do believe they need to work on job scheduling and/or set more realistic expectations for timeframes with their customers. Just had my roof replacement done today..Joel and his crew did a exceptional job (I thoroughly checked afterwards). And I didn't have much cleaning to do after they were finished, every bits and pieces of debris around my house were picked up and disposed of..I did find one little bitty nail in the back hiding under the dirt (the horror, the horror..lol). In February I notified my landlord that we had some minor leaking in our roof. With him on the mainland we took matters into our own hands and contacted a few different roofing companies for estimates and ultimately the best solution. M & R was the first company to schedule an appointment and within the week they sent out an estimator for free and gave us a full rundown of the issue and how to fix it properly. After sending the M&R estimate to my landlord he decided to hire a different company to attempt a "patch" which failed. After the waste of time and money we convinced our landlord to call M & R again and now we have a new roof! I received a quote from them (without them even coming to the house to look), decided to use them, and when I called them to schedule the repairs (gutters separating from the house) they said they had to determine who had given me the quote and would get back to me. Contacted three roofing companies for estimates. One said they would get back to me, but didn't. Two provided estimates which was about the same give to take a couple hundred bucks. The difference was Aaron Sharpe who was friendly, professional and took the time to explain everything and gave us options the other company didn't. We ended up going with Aaron and M&R and it was a great decision. We even upgraded the shingles which was more but Aaron gave us a great price. the installation was done in a little more than a day. Roger, Arnel, and crew did an amazing job! I had mustang brown, aluminum rustic shingle (with foam) installed. The house is much cooler! Crew was professional, with attention to safety (wearing harnesses). Included: 1. deeper aluminum gutters to catch the faster water flow of the metal roof 2. removing/reinstalling solar water panels 3. extra gutters where they thought "it would just be better" 4. repainting areas where they installed flashing ...and still came in at a better price than all the competitors. Roger is also the only one I know of who went through the certification process for this particular product, which helps in maintaining the wind warranty. I also appreciate that Roger worked closely with the solar PV company to install the support bases. The solar PV company didn't want to work with metal roof and was ready to cancel the contract, but Roger designed the installation to their satisfaction. On top of all this, they cleaned up at the end of each day. read more

We researched several roofing firms. All of them were awesome. But it's once in a lifetime that you come across a company where everything falls into place. The estimator, Aaron S. met with us and thoroughly explained the installation, helped us with all of the paperwork approval (HOA), provided referrals, and showed us all of their available product. The Classic metal roofing system was the replacement for our asphalt shingles and we're very happy with the look and the upgraded appearance that it gives our home. The Rustic Shingle also came with a lifetime warranty. I'm a very detailed oriented person and I can share with you that the staff was very punctual, professional and attentive to detail. Everything was accomplished on time plus they were very thorough on cleaning up afterwards. The biggest factor besides the great service was that they were able to put our fears aside with installation of an aluminum roof that already had Photo Voltaic (PV) panels. Spoke to Roger Aug 2014 asking for a quote to install rain gutters for a new construction house. He said to email him the plans and he would get back to me. After emailing the plans, he said he would install gutters for free if we hire them to install the roof. After telling him I was only looking for gutters and asked again for a quote, he stopped responding. I guess gutters are not worth his time. Would not recommend. read more
