Apparently there were many cracked tiles, probably when panels were put in, tenting and/or neighbor's avocados. He checked for this type of tiles and the color. Recommended extra tiles because not many in my color which I did want. Rob and his helper went straight to work for many hours (in the hot sun and no breeze) due to the tile being slippery, not to cause further breakage and must do one at a time). Once we accepted their proposal, they made all the arrangements for the PV panel removal and reinstallation, came up to the house, repaired the leak, which involved replacing the shingles on part of the roof, all in one day. My understanding was that many of the roofing companies were all very busy. Surface Shield Roofing was the first one to respond. I was contacted by Isaac who made an appointment to inspect my roof within a week. He arrived on time and inspected my roof. He provided me with a detailed quote a week later as promised. Very professional. He did advise me that they were not necessarily the cheapest but that they do good work and stand behind what they did. I subsequently got contacted and received quotes from several other roofing companies. Some of the other companies i contacted did not even bother to respond. Eventually I did select a different company than Surface Shield based upon price and since my job was only repair work.
