3/2025 - Received 3 bids and chose RSC Roofing. I wanted to go with Certainteed, the roofing brand used when the house was built, since after 24 years, no leaks but noticed the granules were coming off causing concrete discoloration from the gutter downspouts. Those shingles, now discontinued, had a 20-year warranty period. Rocky was quick to respond and to give me a quote. He was courteous and answered my many questions, revising the contract a couple of times to my satisfaction to ensure only Certainteed products were used to adhere to Certainteed warranty requirements. In hindsight, I probably should have used a shinglemaster contractor through the Certainteed website, as they can offer longer workmanship warranties and have been trained on proper installation of the Certainteed product, but I am satisfied with the work Rocky's crew did in a day and a half and at a reasonable cost. He even emailed me pictures when the job was completed, at my request, so I had a better view of the work they completed. Recently, I sent an inquiry to Rocky as I needed the number of squares used to fill out an online Certainteed warranty registration form. Our old roof was leaky, lots of wood rot and termite damage. The previous owners overlooked it and did some shoddy patch jobs before we bought the house. Rocky and his crew did an excellent job replacing fascia, rafters, and added a new rolled roof and gutters. Giving us a huge peace of mind knowing we don't have to worry too much about the next rain. Rocky was only concerned about getting insurance to pay for an entire roof even though we only needed to patch our roof. We followed his instructions and then he ghosted us when we tried to follow up with him. But it was too late to rescind our insurance claim. The insurance company then actually threatened us to fix our roof or they would drop our policy. Luckily our insurance agent was able to fix the situation. Rocky could have led us into a really bad situation because all he wanted was to fix the entire roof using the insurance company's money. He did not care to get our roof patched to protect our home. He even told us that if further rain came and damaged the rest of the house, we could request our insurance company to cover it. There are definitely better roofers out there who care about the homeowner and are not looking to rip off insurance companies. read more

Rocky and his crew did an amazing job on our complete roof replacement! To start, we were approached by "storm chasers" FBC and it wasn't sitting right with me. They were pushy and basically stated that the cost of our roof replacement would be whatever the insurance quoted. That made me think, hmmm... something must be wrong if a company can't or isn't willing to give you a fair quote based on their own professional opinion. They're simply in it for the money. We then proceeded to contact RSC. To be honest, I wanted at least 1 more contractor to come out and make our decision from there, but after speaking with Rocky, it was clear who we were going with. Besides being quoted what I believe to be fair, he went above and beyond to make sure our property was neat and cleaned after the job was finished. Requested 3 quotes on yelp and Rocky was the first to respond and the first to come can give an estimate. Headed came too but their quote was the same for only 1/4 of my roof! They also didn't identify the problem like Rocky did. Rocky's quote was almost exactly that of my insurance estimates. Very nice that my insurance paid for the whole thing. Love Liberty Mutual! Scheduled the work and it was done in less than a month later and took only 2 days. Rocky inspected the work during and after and walked the property to ensure no stray nails or roof on ground. I solicited estimates from four licensed companies to repair various roof leaks. RSC's recommended solution was more extensive than the others, but at a lower price. Most importantly, Rocky was the only company that gave a warranty for workmanship. His crew arrived on time and worked straight through until job completion, with the exception of a 30 minute lunch break. They were pleasant to deal with (like Rocky), and completely cleaned up when they were done. True professionals. We highly HIGHLY recommend RSC Roofing. We had leaky skylights plus a mysterious leak which turned out not to be from the roof. Rocky and his team replaced the problematic half the roof. They had 5 skylights to deal with, one of which they couldn't find a replacement dome for since it was proprietary to the special type of skylight my father was sold a few decades ago. Rocky and I discussed this, and decided to try to reuse the dome. A few months later it began to leak. Although the new roof was covered under warranty, the old dome was not. After a bit of negotiation, Rocky replaced the old dome with a standard cover for the cost of the new cover and a nominal fee for the installation. Now that skylight is under Rocky's warranty. RSC conscientiously cleaned up every day they worked. I did find a few nails in the yard afterwards, but less than a dozen, which I find astounding. With the hundreds of nails they go through, I expected to find 10 times as I did on the ground. Our mystery leak appeared, and Rocky himself came back and inspected the roof, crawled through the attic, and confirmed the leak was not from the roof. (It's most likely a shower wall) THREE YEARS LATER I needed proof of work done from our insurance. I realized I hadn't printed out the invoice for Rocky's work, and asked Rocky if he could possibly find it. He did, and emailed it right over. What a lifesaver! Three years later the roof is still great, still under warranty, and we've had no problems with it. There was a storm that hit the windward side pretty hard. The news interviewed a busy roofer helping folks who had damaged roofs. It was Rocky, and I was proud to have had our roof done by RSC! They replaced the old roof w/a new one; chose Pabco Weathered White for its lighter color to hopefully reflect off sunlight more than a darker color. I discovered & chose RSC as they were replacing other roofs on the street next to ours. Plus they had a high rating on Yelp. They also helped to have the costs partially covered by our home insurer due to a January windstorm that had affected a lot of homes in our area. Azur did the estimate & Rocky & his crew replaced the roof. They also had their own plumber come in & remove our two solar panels; cleaned it & reinstalled it after the roofing job was done. They also had discovered that the company that had initially installed our solar fan had cut a bigger whole than it should have been & replaced it w/a new board & cut it correctly for a small fee. Cleanup was pretty good; as they even went over the grounds w/a magnet that picked up a lot of nails & roof staples. Note - Rocky did offer to have one of his guys come back & go over the place again with their magnet but I opted to buy one from City Mill ($28), as I felt no one could do a better job at it than me (as a homeowner). I did find a few more nails/staples; but I was ok with that. All in all, a good experience with this company. read more

We recently had our roof replaced by Rocky and his crew and they were quick to demo and install, professional in their work ethic, responsive via text. Azur was also really great with keeping up with email contact for scheduling and other requests. We had a slight delay with the plumber coming back to reinstall the solar hot water panels, but Rocky was really helpful to get in touch with him and get the plumber back out. Rocky was really apologetic about the delay, but it was all good. And when the plumber did come, he was so helpful with the reinstalling (new insulation, cleaned the panels, flushed it). Roof shingles were in the yard when we got home from work 2 days ago. Crazy windy weather that would still last days. There were even more on the ground the next day. Owner is fast to respond to request for quotes. He scheduled to come out the next day to take a look at the small leak in a bedroom ceiling. There is an attic above the bedroom, so he investigated there. For the roof, he didn't have a tall enough ladder at the time since the house is 2 stories high. He came back the next day to inspect the roof. The same day he got other helpers on the roof to repair shingles and seal the leaks. It took about an hour for the repair. Just got my roof re-done at Tropics at Waikele. Wife and I are very happy. The old clay tiles were a nightmare. Other neighbors had their roofs re-done (our HOA allows only two different shades of the Certainteed asphalt shingles), but Rocky's work is much more detailed and thorough. Rocky and his crew replaced our den metal roof with a solid wood roof with shingles. This job took about 3 full days and it looks spectacular! They also put a protective layer on our main roof (single layer - non shingles) and the water runs right off like a polished car. Rocky himself took a look at our garage roof and our solar panels.
