Professional on the phone and when scheduling the appointment, their estimator, Nick called me when he was a few minutes out to let me know he was coming. Just finished talking to Nick about my situation. To my surprise he recommended a completely different course of action. Rather than just agreeing to quote down spouts that might not fix the problem, Nick suggested checking with a plumber about snaking the existing down spouts. It resulted in no new business for him this time but I was very impressed by his integrity and home maintenance being what it is, I know soo we or later I will have a reason to need a roofing or rain gutter company. I know who'll be at the top of my list to call.

They came out and patched up where they thought the leak might be but a few months later the leak happened again. I decided a new set of eyes might be good so Jeff Kimbrel from Leakmasters came out. He had come out for my original estimate and I regretted not having used them the first time. Jeff couldn't have been any better. He looked over my roof and walls and gave me a few suggestions including caulking around an outlet that was likely the source of the leak. I wanted him to work on my exterior walls as a potential source of the leak but they don't supply that service. Jeff knew my roof was recently coated and he wasn't going to get a sale but he was thorough and professional throughout. Guess what? He didn't even charge me. Amazing customer service and I wasn't even a customer. I have a long warranty with the company that coated by roof but in retrospect I'd call Jeff and have Leakmasters coat my roof if I were to do it again!

It was approximately 10 years ago, I had a roof leak and was frantically looking for someone to repair it. After calling several companies who didn't return my calls, I got in contact with Charles (Chuck) Wooten. He dropped by early the following morning and within minutes, my roof was repaired. Expecting a costly bill, I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable charge. I called on Chuck and Bonnie repeatedly over the years to fix my leaks as they happened and each time they did a fantastic job. This past week, I heard a dripping noise coming from the attic. After we enclosed our outdoor patio to add more living space, we discovered that our skylight was…read moreleaking. My husband called uncle Jes to come by and he sent his brother instead (whose availability depends on his location - he mentioned working on a neighbor island too). His brother came to "fix" our skylight and patched some areas on our roof, which we appreciated at the time. Unfortunately, the issue persisted. We had a drizzle during hard rains; clearly it wasn't fixed. After many ignored calls and no follow-up, we hired another roofing company to address the skylight, along with repairs for wood rot on our rafters & eaves. What we learned from the new roofers was that our roof installation wasn't done properly and definitely not up to standard. Pamalu should have removed the old, multiple damaged layers of rolled roofing (a full tear-off) instead of just overlaying the new one on top. We were advised that, due to this installation lacking a full tear-off, the roof is likely to need a full replacement in the next five years or so. In contrast, during our consultation, uncle Jes stated it should last 20 years and comes with warranty. That's a disappointingly huge gap in expectations. Ignorance was truly bliss and I'm honestly embarrassed about my old review now that we know more.

Wes Nomura was very responsive and came out with the roofer to provide the estimate for repair. We were able to schedule the repair in a timely manner, right after Christmas. The crew did a great job and shared the photos of the finished job with us. We had Gaco S-20 silicone applied to the flat sections and the skylight flashings redone/resealed. So far, we have no more evidence of leaks after the couple days of heavy rains in Jan. 2022. FYI-we have a 3-story home with a concrete tile roof and can check the attic for leaks. A recorded message said that calls cannot be accepted on that number (808-256-6433). Then I discovered that their website is not up any more. And then I found a note on the Better Business Bureau website saying, "BBB confirmed that United Roofing and Rain Gutters had not obtained a necessary license from Hawaii - Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs (DCCA)." They must have let their license lapse, as they were licensed when they did the work for me. Anyone know what's going on?
