The contractor assured me the work would begin promptly, including obtaining necessary permits from Palm Beach County and commencing excavation, plumbing, structural, and finishing work. However, no permits were obtained (I confirmed this with Palm Beach County Building Division records). No work of any kind has been performed on the site and we had to hire a different contractor. I first became aware that the contractor had no intention of performing the work in October 2024, when repeated requests for updates, start dates, or progress went unfulfilled beyond vague excuses. Since then, I have maintained ongoing contact with the contractor via text messages and calls. In every communication, the contractor has acknowledged receipt of my payment but provided only stories and promises of repayment or future action, with no actual refund or meaningful resolution. Examples include: Promises to "send a check next week" that never materialized. Claims of "financial issues" or "waiting on suppliers" without evidence. Assurances that work would start "soon" repeated with zero follow-through. This pattern demonstrates financial dishonesty/misconduct (misuse or misappropriation of funds paid for a specific project) and abandonment of the job after receiving substantial payment without just cause or written extension. The contractor has failed to commence work within required timelines under F.S. 489.126 and has not refunded any portion despite demands. This has caused me significant financial harm ($27,792.95 lost), and emotional distress.

I reached out to Griffin several times with no response. Disappointed about that as we have had a good experience up to this point. We are now seeking a paver company to come out and correct the original work. We will also be paying for this ourselves which doesn't seem right to me. The company that installed the pavers for Griffin installed pavers we didn't order and then tried to talk us in to keeping them, should have realized at that point their interest was not in our best interest. We spent over 100,000 for our pool and didn't get the quality we were looking for the deck portion. Disappointed!

My husband just had major back surgery so was not able to do this repair himself so we called Michael. He first came out in Feb and charged $200 for a service call said he had to get some special silicone for a spa. repair; he came back charged us another 170 put the silicone on and left. It did not work we contacted him again. He said he had to order a new part, first said they sent the wrong part then April 14, said the right part came in he would be here tomorrow. He still has not been back. He has never called or came back, it is May 11th, so for $370 got nothing.
