I desperately needed a girls day out! We decided on Mbar for lunch on Sunday! No reservations needed but early arrival suggested! We got there right at opening! These is a huge parking area but if that's packed you can park across the street for no fee! The vibe was everything. They had the Sunday NFL games playing. I was able to see the saints beat the falcons! (WHO DAT ) Our waitress( forgot her name) was very attentive although she had multiple guest to assist! We tipped her very well bc there's nothing I appreciate more I got the 1 meat(fried chicken) with 2 sides( red beans and rice and mac n cheese) the chicken was a bit salty, red beans and rice had no flavor neither did the mac n cheese.... Im a fruity girl when it comes to the drinks and the F*** me 12 times was delicious!!! I had 3 (dont judge me) we also got a hookah for $30 the girl will come around and ask if you want one! Folks are missing out on lunch at M-Bar Sports Grill. My friend and I decided a few weeks ago to try them out for lunch and we're both so glad that we did! Marchell was our server. It was her second day and she was good. She could already answer questions about the menu and drinks. She has a great personality and is super friendly. I ordered the 8 piece wing combo, which came with fries and a drink for $13. I got the Asian sweet chili and lemon pepper flavors. I am a lemon pepper fan but this Asian sweet chili sauce won me over. The wings were very good. The fries were typical....nothing to get excited about but they do fill out the meal. My friend ordered the pizza (I forgot to take a picture) but she said it was very good. We vowed to try them again, especially on Tuesday when they have pantrout. I think people come after work because it was still early. We ate at lunch so we here mostly here for happy hour. Happy hour had two for one drinks, Bartender was so cool and sweet. The owner needs to establish parking for his patrons. They know they don't have adequate parking yet they don't tell you or offer signage to prevent people's cars from being towed. They won't even alert people that the are towing. I feel they may be in cahoots with the towing company to steal people vehicles and charge them outlandish amounts to get thier cars back. I would not patronize them again due to this because there were several open spaces available on the parking lot but are blocked off and not allowing people to park. The only excuse was " your waitress is new" and the only resolution to being overcharged after speaking with the manager was being banned from MBar. It doesn't make sense. I've been a long time customer at this bar for 10+ years now. And over the past few years the customer service has fallen off BAD. Service is quite slow and the servers are a hit & miss most weekends. You will be lucky to get water on your table and a server that doesn't charge you for items you never received. My first time at the M Bar and I came for the $15 bottomless mimosas. They had a new one that was made with raspberry lemonade and it was delicious. I ordered the chicken and waffles which the waitress said it was a little spicy since it was Cajun but my sister couldn't handle the heat, which I thought was good. But the owner replaced the meal and gave her the regular chicken waffles so if you don't like heat, get the mild kind. My ordered the steak and eggs medium-well but came well done and tough but the green stuff that came with it was good. They need more waitresses because the wait was kinda slow. Tried the shrimp and the fried chicken sandwich, which either did not disappoint! However, on one of my visits(think I went about 3 days in a row, ha), I was told the food truck containing the fries and other items I wanted had not arrived for the day....I was beyond bummed. I enjoy M Bar because of the atmosphere, music, food, and drinks. It is an all-around good place to experience in the Jackson area. I have been when there were 20 year-olds and with the more mature crowd. Each time I have gone, the experiences were pretty good. It is maintained well, though I think it could be cleaner and sometimes the wait to be served is a little lengthy but the experience makes up for those minor things. Our waitress flat-out refused to acknowledge me. She came to our table, took my three friends' orders, and as I was about to say what I wanted, left. I was looking right at the menu; I was CLEARLY interested in ordering. She passed by our table three or four times, ignoring my every attempt to politely, yet increasingly firmly, get her attention. Finally, my friend got her attention by yelling, "HEY!" at her, and she reluctantly came and took my order. Look, it was a busy night, and any other instance I would've never pestered or yelled at a waitress, but this woman clearly had some sort of superficial problem with me that affected her ability to provide good service, or any service for that matter. I've worked off and on in the restaurant industry for years and have never experienced anything like this on either the customer or employee side. The food was good, but the beer selection was really lacking. Their taps were completely out on a major sporting event night, which is insane for any bar or restaurant, let alone a self-proclaimed sports bar. Our seats were heavily worn out and probably weren't changed from when this place was a Garfield's a few years back. The crowd was decent and the bar clearly makes an effort to keep the peace. I went to the bar and realized that this was not the crowd I normally mingle with. I sat in the bar for a while and was impressed with the music and atmosphere. The wait staff and security was good as well as the drinks. This is pretty much for the younger crowd but I still had fun. There is one thing to be aware of. I received my bank statement and the waitress decided to tip herself an extra 40 dollars. My tab was 48.00 and I left her a 10.00 tip; but I guess this wasn't enough. I called the owner to discuss this but as dealing with certain ethnics groups, he was hesitant to refund the 40.00 self imposed tip increase by the waitress.
