We recently got our engagement photographs done with M&M and both of us are in love with the final product. These guys really work with you, I live in San Francisco and my Fiancée is based out of Toronto Canada, knowing that we were coming all the way to Chicago; both Ryan and Sarah went really out of the way to cater to our needs. Even after including our cost of travel, hotel , car etc the photographs we got are worth a lot more. Sarah pays close attention to your conversations, she tries to understands what you want from the shoot as well as any special requests (which in our case were more than a few). AMAZING! Got my wedding photos a last month or so and could not be more pleased! Okay guys, when it comes to photos, especially wedding photos, personally I dont like the pose-y, super happy, gay wedding shots. Yes a wedding is a special occassion and we are all happy but I wanted depth and other emotions to come through the photos. M+M understood my wishes and delivered exceptional shots! and without breaking the bank, might I add! There are wedding photographers commanding $4000+ and M+M give you their quality AND some without killing your wedding budget. Also guys, when it comes to your wedding, you want a photographer that will express what YOU want, you should not feel obligated to fit the mold of the photographer, after all you are paying for this service. M+M are so flexible. I remember for some my engagement shots, I wanted a desolate abandoned building- to create a dramatic look and not only did they know where to go for this look, they were also willing to climb a gate with all their equipment to achieve the effect we requested! now that's dedication! Not only that they are willing to travel and go to multiple locations for the scenes you would like on your wedding and engagement shots! Because the memories from my wedding are important to me, I spoke to 10 different photographers and none of them were willing to do what M+M did. they either 1) limited your hours to 5 or 8 of shooting, (M+M had no hour restriction), 2)offered only 1 photographer and had to pay extra for a 2nd and that 2nd was like a junior photographer! (M+M provide 2 professional elite photographers, no questions asked, and I dont care what anyone tells you, 2 photographers make a difference! so many more shots to choose from! ), 3) limited your shot locations (only 1 or 2 max, M+M does not have such restriction) 4) charge extra for black and white, sepia, etc (M+M edit so well, they know what tints work best and you will love what photos they choose for color, b&w, etc- no extra charge!) So in summary, they are fantastic, they deserve all the accolades and recognition for their amazing hard work, creativity, and incredible work ethic. and they are such fun, kind, warm people to be around! they want to know you to ensure they deliver what best fits who you are. Miller + MIller shot our engagement and wedding photos. I couldn't be happier with everything! I broke my foot right before we were supposed to do engagement pictures and Sarah suggested we reschedule - I am glad we did as it was hours of fun when we actually did the pictures and I would have been miserable in a boot hobbling through the woods! EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE ASKED FOR AND MORE!! I would give them a higher star rating if I could! You cannot go wrong with husband and wife, Ryan and Sarah, as your photographers. Their pictures are stunning and really provide you with that "wow" factor! The reason I found Miller+Miller was because one day at the very beginning of my wedding planning process, I was googling "bridal hair styles" on the Internet and came across a GORGEOUS picture of a bride's hair. I then continued on to find more breath taking photos within this wedding album. They immediately caught my eye and I remember thinking the photos are so different than any other album I've seen. Within seconds, I researched who the photographers were that were responsible for these photos. I then called and left a voicemail, praying they would be available on my wedding date the following summer. Luckily, they were! Ryan and Sarah's equipment is like no other photographer's, providing you with high quality photos and lighting, which is spectacular. Not to mention, their captured scenery is an added bonus! I wanted my engagement pictures/wedding pictures to include the architecture of Chicago since it was a Chicago Themed Wedding and I could not imagine another photographer capturing this with such perfection, as did Ryan and Sarah. They truly want you to be happy and pleased with their work in the end. I traded voicemails and e-mails with these photographers. They were not particularly responsive, although they wanted $650 + a contract for a family photo shoot (some shots indoors and some outdoors). I agreed to the price without complaint. Then, when we were attempting to set a day for a shoot, I was told that any date would be subject to the husband and wife photography team deciding to go snowmobiling on that day and canceling on my family. Another very satisfied couple! Ryan and Sarah, the husband and wife team of Miller + Miller, are fantastic photographers! From our very first meeting, we were impressed with their amazing photography and found them very easy to get along with (which led to a three hour long lunch!). We just completed our engagement and wedding day photos this past week with Miller+Miller, and we were absolutely blown away. We couldn't recommend this husband & wife team of Ryan and Sarah more highly, and here are just a few of the reasons why ... One: They are highly skilled photographers with tremendous talent. Just great technical skill and great eyes and instincts for lighting, angles, etc. Two: They have a terrific work ethic. They are detail-oriented professionals who go the extra mile to obtain the shots you want. Whether it was Sarah responding to every email and constructing an ambitious but practical shooting schedule down to the minute during the planning process, or Ryan climbing a bridge to get a higher angle for one shot, they so clearly gave it their all to ensure that we came away with the photos we desired. They also worked a 12-hour day during our wedding to document the whole event in full. They are meticulous in setting up the most important shots. They understand that a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and they are truly committed to doing the job right. Three: They are very knowledgeable about Chicago and navigating its landmarks, and they know how to execute an ambitious shooting schedule. Everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Four: They are just really good, decent people who are a pleasure to spend time with. If you think about it, other than your spouse, the wedding photographer is the one person you will spend your entire wedding day with at arm's length. It's really important to have someone you enjoy being around. Sarah and Ryan are nice, thoughtful, funny, relaxed, and work so well together. It was fun to work with them. Just a day later, Miller+Miller shared a few of the photos from our engagement shoot--they look spectacular, like something you would see in a magazine, but without any photoshopping or other enhancements. No ten star rating? DARN! I researched maybe 20 photographers before I found Miller and Miller Photography. (Including out of state). When I came across their website it was love at first. My husband and I booked them for our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos. Their work is just amazing. It makes you feel like you are looking at something out of a magazine. Every detail in every picture is just phenomenal. Sarah and Ryan produce great work but most of all they are professional, cool, fun and easy going. They are NOT the kind of photographers that get all in your face taking pictures. During our wedding they were very quite and swift like ninjas. As I looked through our amazing wedding photos, I couldn't believe some of the pictures that were taking. It was like our entire wedding was painted in every photo. Where to begin except to express how truly grateful and blessed my husband and I were to find such incredibly, talented photographers and wonderful, genuine people such as Sarah + Ryan! I am addicted to capturing all of life's moments, photography and turning any opportunity I get into a theme party. Sarah and Ryan did just this and beautifully and uniquely captured every moment. My husband and I had an extended engagement and with that I had spent many hours researching and investigating for the right photographer. I wanted work that did not have the soft 90's glow edged around every photo or awkward poses of all of our bridal party jumping mid-air. We were looking for a photographer that utilized modern photographer capabilities by capturing crisp, quality photos but also maintained the softness and vintage, classic elegance. I wanted classic photos that we could have to cherish, hang throughout our house and in our wedding album-timeless. That is when I found Sarah and Ryan. From the moment I came across their blog and website I was in love (I am pretty sure I have read every post and viewed every piece of their work!)! Right away Sarah was attentive and even though our date was further down the road she showed interest in assisting us. When we had to change our date due to weather, Sarah was on-top of everything trying to work with us on switching our date. I swear she is a Farmer's Almanac with weather, a wedding planner with her quality referrals and covers everything else in between! The first time we actually met was for our engagement shoot, but from all of her assistance prior and our correspondences I felt like we already knew them. My husband and I also maintain a very busy and hectic lifestyle and the day of the engagement was nothing different, this was mixed with my husband not being big on taking photos or posing. Sarah and Ryan brought such a comfortable, calm atmosphere to the shoot and directed us so well, that our photos came out so natural and truly captured the moment and day. Also, they found such unique spots in Downtown Chicago that one could pass every day and not realize the potential of the photos that could be captured there. The best is that they let creativity flow and go with it! From one day, all in downtown Chicago, we have such a variety and genre of moments captured (sporting, country-field setting, water/beach, city, Chicago skyline and more!) Following our engagement photos, I worked with Sarah and Ryan for my husband's wedding present which was a themed-personalized boudoir photo book. As I mentioned HUGE on themes, so the amount of outfit changes, and décor props I brought was a lot! Prior to arrival I thought this would be a piece of cake, as I started the shoot I had become nervous! Within a few photo shots, I was completely at ease. Sarah and Ryan were phenomenal and so patient with my quirky ideas and making me comfortable. The environment was comfortable, made me feel confident and there was a lot of laughing involved as well. I really don't think I could have done this with anyone else or receive such phenomenal results. The end results were tasteful, classic, fun, intimate but not trashy. The quality of photos and the actual book my husband received looked like professional book-magazine spread. When our wedding day arrived, as I am sure it is like this for all brides, it was non-stop action. Also, I learned that no matter how small the question a lot of it gets asked to the bride. Sarah was fantastic, she was so extremely helpful and attentive but at the same time in the background capturing it all without being obtrusive. On our wedding day, there was a snafu and our means of transportation, a wedding trolley broke down prior to picking up the groom, his side of the bridal party and all our wedding guests. Amidst all of this chaos Sarah+Ryan remained calm and led by example. They were efficient and still able to capture our key requested shots. Not only did they capture the main ones, but they captured moments that we had no idea even occurred. From the finest detail of the scenery, to a glance caught in a moment in time, Sarah and Ryan got it! They are such a wonderful team, directing others when needed and at other times, hidden on the wall but capturing it all. On such a beautifully yet chaotic day, it was so wonderful to view all the details we missed and relive all the moments that occurred. To sum it up-Sarah and Ryan want the best for their clients, it seems as each shoot is a personal challenge for them to capture that perfect shot. They only use the highest quality of materials, equipment, software and their undivided attention. They are a phenomenal team, personally and professional and we are truly blessed to have met them and build the relationship we have with them. We chose them for our engagement and wedding photos and it was the BEST decision made during wedding planning. Here's a list why :) - SUPER TALENTED!! My words will not do their skills and creativity justice. - very knowledgeable, experienced, professional and timely (my hard to please Asian mother was so impressed with them on our wedding day and she's insanely hard to impress. She won't stop raving about them and wants to look at my wedding photos every week) - good, trustworthy, down to earth, people (its hard to find people in the wedding industry who isn't out to rip you off) - always goes the extra mile. Ryan balanced (rather precariously) on a tiny rock in a muddy lagoon to shoot our engagement photos. While holding his very expensive camera. Some others might not want to risk their fancy equipment just to get a good shot but he did. Just so we could have some pretty pictures. Awesome, right? - they don't make you do shots of your wedding party holding hands and running in a circle around the couple, totem pole, all the groomsmen carrying the bride on her side, etc. I'm sure they can do those shots brilliantly if that was your thing but their creative skills are way beyond that. Put your wedding vision in their hands and they'll have you looking like you're on the cover of Vogue. - THE ABSOLUTE BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS TO HIRE IF YOU WANT AMAZING CHICAGO SKYLINE SHOTS. And the most important thing---What about the end product? Their photos are AMAZING!!! My husband and I got married at MSI and all of our museum exhibit photos are so beautiful. (What also won us over during the interview with them is that they did their homework. They came to our meeting with an iPad and the museum map opened up, ready to explain to us how they plan on shooting our wedding. I like people who are prepared :)) Book them! Amazing!! All of our friends were going crazy, saying our photos were the best they'd ever seen. Ryan and Sarah truly captured exactly what we envisioned and then some...our total photo plan changed last minute due to pouring rain and their creative change of plan fit us to a tee, we were actually thankful it rained! After going through many photographers, we decided to go with M+M for our wedding and we loved our pictures! Considering it was long and tiring two days, M+M really came through with it at the end and delivered amazing photos! We really liked their style and the quality of their pictures. Ryan and Sarah are so easy to work with and most importantly, they are very professional and responsive when answering questions and getting back to you.
