I was on Franklin Avenue needing to go to the other side of Brooklyn ... Utica Avenue. I mapped it out via iPhone directions. I first had to enter the Franklin Avenue station find the "S" as in shuttle to catch the C train to Utica. First, finding the "S" was a maze at Franklin Avenue platform; I climbed a myriad of flights of stairs, up, down and sideways to catch the Shuttle. I boarded the S train and two stops-Park Place-then Franklyn Avenue. Then climb more stairs to catch C train to Utica. All I can say is, this procedure allowed me to really walk steps to close my rings on my Apple Watch faster than usual. The shuttle us s good idea and yes, you do see elevated perspectives like Botanical Garden. Now, let the MTA work on the ten flights of stairs I climb from the 4th Avenue station to catch the G.

Wow the improvements from what I can remember includes an elevator and stain glass windows. The platform used to be wood frame that would shake, you could feel the vibration as the train pulled into the station, now it is sturdy and concrete. There are now two trains cars which run between Franklin Ave and Prospect Park. The north bound Franklin Ave station has one escalator going up and you will have to take the ascending steps down stairs or take an elevator to the street level or to the lower level where you can connect to the "C" train. The south bound stop, Prospect Park connects you to the "Q", "B" or "D" train in either direction. When I was growing up the first station stop on the Franklin Shuttle after leaving Franklin Avenue was Dean Street, which remained open until 1996, but due to lack of ridership that station was torn down. On November 1, 1918, a five-car wooden elevated train derailed and crashed into one of the new tunnel walls, killing at least 93 people. This accident, called the "Malbone Street Wreck" was the worst MTA accident ever. Four stars because it is a clean station there's always an attendant visible however, the escalator does not operate consistently, it's like throwing dice...maybe it will work....maybe not.

The BxM9 has been and always will be the way to travel quickly in between Manhattan and The Bronx. This bus service offers efficient and personable bus drivers, (I think it's cool to be able to say, 'Good Morning' to a bus driver and actually receive a pleasant response back to start the day off right...it's the little things sometimes). There are comfortable reclining seats, individual overhead lights, individual a/c, and to add to the comfort once you hit the highway the bus driver turns off the interior bus lights so you can get a nice nap during your ride or if you prefer you can use your overhead light if needed. Using the express bus almost daily made me never ever want to ride the train again...I got seriously spoiled. There's a timetable that is adhered to and can be found online and downloaded to your phone. The schedule is pretty much on point even during rush-hour due to the fact that there are designated bus lanes between 30 something street and 59th street on Madison Ave going North and 125th-110th thru 23rd street on 5th Ave going South (Drop Off only). The commute in either direction can be anywhere from 20 mins - 1.5hr, depending on the day plus time of day, driver, traffic or road construction, and/or any other NYC variable that can be thrown at you. As a daily rider you eventually get the hang of timing your commute accordingly. The fare is about $6.00 each way, but if your company offers Flexible Spending Benefits this can help subsidize the cost of using this mode of transport. In addition, if you need to transfer to the train or local bus those connections are free. The BxM9 Express Bus is well worth it for its comfort and convenience.

When I got off the plane from Las Vegas to JFK, I picked up my luggage and walked over to the tram. There was two different trams going, and the one I was getting on was the Howard Beach AirTrain route. The Howard Beach AirTrain route offers a nearly nonstop, 15 minute link from Terminal 5 to the subway at Howard Beach, with simplicity, platform screen doors, and round the clock availability. The Howard Beach line originates at Howard Beach station, travels through Lefferts Boulevard, moves into Federal Circle, and then enters the terminal loop, stopping at Terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 in that sequence. Travel between terminals is free! There are seats in the Tram, but it can get busy during the morning hours or in the evening. When I arrived in around 7:00 P.M, its pretty empty. Once I arrived at the Howard Beach stop, I went down the escalator, to the ride share app pickup location. It's a seamless ride!

Nevins Street is a good MTA station. It's not big but it's not bad. Location is the best thing…read moreabout it. Good that it's close to a few other lines. The inside is pretty decent and the trains are on time. A lot smaller compared to the Barclays. It serves the 2, 3, 4, and 5 Trains. There's not so much commotion here, which makes it easier to get on trains. It's one of the stations for Boerum Hill. There's a few restaurants outside the station, mostly fast food and chains, but there's a few better ones. Fulton Street Mall is also here. They have the basic stores you find in any mall. I think it's pretty okay. It's not a fantastic station but it's good enough. The best thing about it is the proximity to Barclays and restaurants.

The good thing about this Station is that it have a display, that show you exactly how long you have to wait for the next subway train to arrive.
