    Very busy bus but so quick and efficient for crosstown purposes. I personally give this bus route 10/10. The bus is always super clean

    While unfortunately this 86th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 7th Avenue Local 1 train, is…read morenot fully accessible at this time and MTA has no immediate plans to put in an ADA compliant upgrade, it really has something special with delightful artwork generated by a community project with neighborhood kids. Along each platform, you'll notice black framed pieces, including the "Westside Views" as well as "Westside Poem" by Pedro Pietri, the poet/playwright who was one of the co-founders of the Nuyorican Movement. The local Community Board, seeking to use available funds for a youth project to benefit the community, enlisted Mexican-born Nuyorican artist Nitza Trufiño, who earlier founded El Museo de Barrio. Trufiño brought in 17 kids to collaborate, most part of a program at Grosvenor Neighborhood House. Pictures were taken, interviews made, then the images students drew were captured in these murals, installed in 1989. Take a look at each wonderful individual tile telling a story about this neighborhood and its people. It's worth a visit to this station in the Upper West Side. Btw, Nitza Trufiño's work is also featured in the 103rd Street Station of the Lexington Ave. Local Line 6 train Subway Station.
