Ojibwa played a large roll in my life. I still consider those summers as a camper as some of the best times of my life. It's one of the experiences that I could share with my family members who also went, which I always really liked about it. The camp is competitive, but I felt that it helped prepare me for what is a competitive workplace and competitive world. I learned life lessons, learned to sail, learned to win gracefully, learned to lose with honor, and learned that I still wish every week were Collegiate Week. Oh and I won in '91. :P Something I still consider to be one of my great life achievements.

The teachers were excellent, patient, knowledgeable, and created a very welcoming enviroment. By the end of camp my daughter was able to handle the horse around the barrels, and to this day talks about the horse she had while she was there. The price…read moreis reasonable considering they have round-the-clock supervision, 3 meals a day and snacks (they even make accommodations for dietary restrictions, vegetarians, etc.). Their staff members include registered nurses, an EMT, teachers, parents and coaches. They set up a whole gym, including inflatable pits, bungee trampolines, tumble tramps and a rod tumbling floor under tents outside. It is such a unique and cool experience to work out in the tents! The coaches range from YMCA and Recreational programs to elite gymnastics through level 10, including Xcel coaches. Several of the coaches own gyms themselves (Jump Around Gymnastics and Livingston Twisters). In past years, they even had former Olympians there to coach and sign autographs (Morgan Hamm and Chellsie Memmel). I love that my daughter was able to bring her friend who is NOT a gymnast since they also have a Ball Sports (field sports) option. She came home with several new skills (she finally got her kip and learned to twist!). She will be back next year and for years to come. Highly recommend!!

My children adore everything about Kawaga. They have made great friends from all over the USA who they look forward to re connecting with each summer.
