Each time we encountered staff (from the reservation phone call to check-in to a stop in the office for ice) they were friendly. The campground itself is pretty small and seems to be new. There isn't a lot of shade or privacy here but once the trees fill in, they'll offer more cover. There is a small office onsite that opens at 8a and offers snacks, ice and firewood for purchase. There is also complimentary coffee which was nice. We were told there was a cell phone booster at the office but we had a REALLY hard time getting service, even with that. One-stall bathrooms are available and they were insanely clean (and air conditioned!). Showers are available (a $2 donation is requested) but when my husband went to use them Sunday morning they were either closed or someone was hogging them for over 20 minutes . This was before the 8a office open time so it's possible they were just closed. There is a man-made water pond with inflatables for the kids. We don't have children ourselves so we stayed pretty clear of that and the nearby playground. Yard games are offered for guests as well but we didn't use them. They have an area for "dog exercise" but it's not that big and it's very close to other campsites - not totally sure what the purpose is but it's a nice gesture. The campground was very quiet when we were there - not even half full. Between the heat and being the weekend before the 4th, I'm sure that had something to do with it. We did notice they had a handful of permanent sites here. We would definitely camp here again.

There is an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a kids play area, a beach, and many trails. We stayed in the lodge. The room was large. We were picking up my son from camp and I though we would have to share a room, but it was large enough that we ran out and bought a cheap air mattress so he could have his own bed. There are cabins on the property, a supper club, and a coffee bar, but we did not try any of those. The resort was quite busy. There were groups of all ages. While our room was large, the bathroom was very dated and in need of a renovation. There was a binder highlighting aspects of the lodge, but some of the pages had mold growing on them. I thought there was daily room cleaning, but our room was never touched. Perhaps I missed something. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking for lodging in the area.

We booked the trip on Sunday and had to cancel on Tuesday. We were out the $90. It would've cost for the one night stay as their policy is no cancellation refunds. If they advertise this on their website, it is in the fine print however, it should be policy that if your trip is canceled due to circumstances beyond your control, you should be refunded. This is equivalent to stealing.

I was given Cabin 1...right on the lake...this Cabin has the fire pit and the dock onto the lake. Cabin 1 has 2 nicely furnished bedrooms, dining room, living room with a large flatscreen TV, a full kitchen with a gas stove/oven and refrigerator, and a bathroom. I stayed all week, my cabin was warm and comfortable. I enjoyed myself. I most certainly will come back...perhaps during the spring or summer, and enjoy swimming and fishing on the lake.

So this year we had a group of nearly 30 and while the facility housed us all well it is in very…read morepoor condition. The pictures that are on the website are not current and very misleading. The house is not as isolated like it shows, and there is not a large area between the house and water for games or the firepit. It is quite close in proximity leaving you to need to play yard games up near the driveway. As my pictures show the outside of the house is in need of some maintenance and cleaning with wasps and spiders taking up residence. Two of our family members were stung during our stay. While inside there are extension cords everywhere and the lack of outlets is very frustrating. Doors that open and shut very hard, poorly or not completely. There are bathrooms without locks on doors, no exhaust fans many of them with mold on the ceilings. The bar area in the basement was very dirty and none of the arcade games nor jute box worked, as stated they did. The grill was dirty and in very poor condition and had empty propane tanks. Overall we were saddened by the condition of the facility. For the cost we paid, we are unable to recommend this to future vacationers. It had electric and hot and cold water, a shower , sink and toilet and even a small tv with a VCR and a pile of Disney VHS movies that my kids loved. I liked it's rustic old world feel. Views of the lake were beautiful, it was fall color leaf time and the trees were stunning. i would stay there again and suggest it to anyone looking for a real lake cabin experience.
