My wife and I stop bye frequently to grab the ham and cheese (I think it is Emmantal or Gruyère) stuffed croissants. The croissants are buttery, flaky, and flat out good. In addition to these and the classic plain, they also have a savory spinach/artichoke, sweet ones filled with almond or chocolate. Baguettes are crispy and delicious. The Andouille sausage bread is fantastic also. Several of my family members rave about their coffee too, but I have not had it yet. Shop is clean and the service is always friendly. When I asked her which 3 milks did she use for her tres leches cake, I asked because the recipe I use has coconut milk. She said that she can't use coconut milk because "this is Connecticut" which I'm guessing means that even something as bland as coconut milk is probably too exotic for Connecticut WASPs. He's a retired, lifelong firefighter, and they created the most beautiful custom cake at such a reasonable price. We originally found the bakery because it was close to the party location in Oxford where his birthday celebration was being held. Fast forward to this year, when my husband and I wanted to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary by recreating our wedding cake: an Italian rainbow cookie in cake form. Believe it or not, not a single bakery near us would agree to make it, including a few that proudly call themselves the best Italian bakeries around. We had almost given up hope. Then my husband was helping his dad after surgery, and we remembered this bakery. Expecting another "no," he stopped in to ask anyway. Without hesitation, they said yes. Not only did they bring our vision to life perfectly, but the cake was absolutely stunning and somehow even more delicious than our original wedding cake. It was everything we hoped for and more.
