A small grocery store located in semi rural Woodbury, CT. I pass by about four times a week, so occasionally I'll stop in for a needed item. Not the kind of place I'd do my regular grocery shopping if I was local, but these small supermarkets are important to their communities. I wish my local small market hadn't closed up two years ago in my little town, it makes shopping a bit more of a challenge now. Again, as others have stated, prices are slightly higher than your larger retailers. But this store offers some unique items, the deli is outstanding, and the fried chicken is excellent. Several months ago I had several bad experiences over the course of a couple of weeks with orders that were not properly tallied up and discounts that were not applied. Being a lifelong Woodbury resident, it was convenient to shop here, but I had had enough. Today I decided to try once again, and wouldn't you know it, I was overcharged once again. Last time. The service at this establishment is amazing! If you ever enter this store please ask for Luca and Liam for the BEST service. Although Liam doesn't work there anymore he will be missed, he is so noble and has now decided to serve our country. Luca on the other hand is the best worker. Charming little grocery store located in Woodbury. Family owned so prices will be higher than the big box stores. They focus on better quality and brands which also causes some of the higher prices. LaBonne's Woodbury, CT is simply a large scale convenience store, EXTREMELY high priced. Happy they're here in town for the last minute needed items and most residents do drive to Southbury for grocery shopping. A few of the older ladies that check you out are not the friendliest however, the other employees are quite friendly. read more

Labonne's is a nice, smaller supermarket, and is the market that I grew up going to as a kid. The place is well-stocked and has all the essentials plus a little more. Over the years I have watched this market really grow, and they now offer lots of things (like gourmet coffee beans, tofu, and artisanal breads) that they did not offer before. I guess on the one hand they need to compete with New Morning, but beyond that the place was renovated recently, and has become larger and looks classier than the Labonne's of yesteryear. It is THE supermarket in Woodbury. We would be lost without Labonne's. read more

I come here when I need a few items and don't want to drive to the next town. Most of their items are a bit overpriced, so it is mostly sale items I'll get. The staff is really friendly and helpful and makes it worth coming in. The produce is hit or miss. read more

Went to LaBonne's first time yesterday. Bought the pre-cooked salmon and after heating it up a bit, it was delicious! Bought about four times more than I intended because the prices matched Stop & Shop overall. The things I spent more on, evened out when I added up the savings on other items. Workers were polite and cheerful too. Very pleasant experience. I wish the lighting was a little brighter but that is a tiny aesthetic. Wish they had more choices for the almond milk but again not a deal breaker. read more

my go-to place for picking up a few items when I don't want to schlep to Shop Rite in Southbury.... Prices of course are usually higher . and the selection is limited in my opinion... However, I have recently tried their vegetable sushi which is delivered from their Watertown location, where it is made fresh daily. It is exceptionally good... Never did I think I would purchase Sushi from a supermarket, but its surprisingly good. Their sushi chefs in Watertown have been with them for 15 years as stated on their website. Based on this alone I will stop in more often... If you go to the Watertown location, they will make your choice of sushi while you wait... worth the drive to Watertown. read more

Labonnes's is a small family supermarket that is community focused (food drives, charging points during major power outages etc). The staff are friendly, the offerings are commendably diverse for a small store (e.g. nan breads, craft beers) and its fast to get in and out off in a hurry. read more

Nice little store. Much smaller than their Waterbury/Watertown location, but we found what we went in for. It is nice to know that when one of Labonne's markets does not have an item in stock, another location is just 5-10 miles away. The staff seemed really friendly and everything was easy to find. Though this is a bit of a drive for me, it is a nice place to stop in for a drink or snack when I am in the area. The hot food bar isn't as big either, but you can still find foods to go. Parking lot is decent sized, but seemed crowded when I visited. It definitely ranks up there with the other Labonne's Markets, but it would be awesome if they could expand the place in the future and make it as extensive as their Waterbury/Watertown location. They do what they can with the space they have and they do it well. read more

I love this store. No they can't afford Stop and Shop or Walmart discounts, but this is because of the premium rental Woodbury property charges. I love the hot bar and the sandwiches. I usually don't do my regular shopping here, but I go in a few times a week for the extras. As for your grandmother 's eating tuna, you should be a good granddaughter and take her shopping to a cheaper place. Shame on you if you are too lazy to help out your poor fixed income grandma. LaBonne's meats are good - can't be argued. Their produce of generally ok, but hit or miss. Everything else is just sort of there. So for anything beyond the meat, the value of the store is that it is more convenient, albeit more expensive, than the larger markets farther away. But there is one area where they seriously fall down: customer service. The old pros who would probably know how to fix a problem always seem to be on the cash registers. The customer service desk is left to high school kids who are disinterested at best, and blatantly rude at worst. Given my experience today, I'm fairly sure I'll avoid LaBonne's for at least a week until this latest round of teenage discourtesy wears off. LaBonne's has been in this location far too long to continue this sort of shoddy service. Shame on them. read more

I'm so thankful that this is my local market. It's not the biggest grocery store around, which for me is a positive. I love the familiar, friendly faces of the staff, and the great selection - they carry everything we need (and more). It's not an overwhelming and impersonal shopping experience like at a larger store. There is a very good produce section- even some organic now! - and they carry some local products too, like Arethusa dairy products. There are almost always baggers to help with even small orders, and there is always a smiling attitude. Some other reviewers note that Labonnes's is more expensive - that may be true to a small degree (though there are some terrific bargains to be had), but I gladly pay a fair price to shop in a such a friendly, well organized and well run store. read more
