I wanted to give this a couple months before I posted a review…read more.. I found this gym after looking for something a bit more structured post-Covid. The regular peloton cardio and Planet Fitness just wasn't getting me where I wanna go. This place has been fantastic so far. As someone who has never really lifted weights, the trainers and owner has been fantastic at instructing the correct way to lift. They have two major programs as well as an open gym option. The programs are led by a trainer, one being team training, one being small group training. If you have not been working out lately, you will leave gassed. You will be sore. The workouts are about an hour long. I have been going about 3-4 days a week which has given me enough time to recover between workouts. Bring a towel and water bottle, my first workout was free. They do have shower facilities if you are coming from or going to work. And bonus... the showers are clean. The folks I have met here have been super friendly and welcoming. Ownership has also been very welcoming and motivating. If your looking for a new place to workout, definitely check these guys out... so far I am very happy I did...

I started in the Lean Down Challenge a 6 week program/20 lbs. I get to attend all the boot camps I want and have a small group personal training session once per week. I felt at ease as soon as I walked in the door. The boot camps are available daily. The trainers are extremely personable. I admit I love to hate them during my workouts but I feel so good a little bit after they end. Mac, Emily, and Bill are fantastic! I'm down 6 lbs, feel stronger and surprised myself by accomplishing some of the exercises I never thought I could do. I just started my 3rd week looking forward to meeting more goals I've set for myself. I've finally found a gym home. It's never too late to live your best life. I'm on my way!. Thanks guys!

The space is decent and laid out in a way that makes sense. Depending on the time of day, it can get busy, but I'm usually still able to get through my workout without too much waiting. It's a good mix of people too. You've got beginners, regulars, and people who are really serious about training, but it doesn't feel intimidating. Everybody is just focused on their own thing. The gym is kept up pretty well. Not perfect, but clean enough where it's comfortable to work out. Staff is cool. They're there if you need something, but they're not in your face, which I prefer. Only downside is peak hours can get crowded, especially around after work hours, so you might have to adjust your timing if you want a smoother workout. Overall, it's a reliable gym. Nothing over the top, but it has everything you need to stay on track and get results. Definitely a solid choice if you're in the area.

The Crofton Gold's is a part of some small branch of Maryland franchises, and they don't allow you to use the travel pass from your home gym. You will have to pay for a $12.50 day pass to work out here, which sucks. If you try to get the online free trial, they'll tell you that you need to be a Maryland resident. All sorts of random hoops you have to jump through just to work out here, despite already being a Gold's member. The front desk people seemed nice and there's a lot of random machines + free weights. The gym itself is pretty large as well. It's just too bad that they are not reciprocal with the DC Metro Golds.

The manager said three plumbers came out and said everything was "fine", but there is NO HOT WATER. He said plainly, they are not going to try and fix it! Since the new manager has been working, hot water has been running out M/W/F mornings between 10:00am-11:00am. The manager (Ed?) admits we run out of hot water, says he called a plumber and "it works", and finished by saying "you all are the only ones who don't have hot water. " He then just puts up his hands and shakes his head. It is unsanitary not having adequate hot water in the showers or sinks for use after the toilet. I've never had a complaint about LA Fitness the entire time I've been a member (30+ years) until now. My review is primarily about the hot water and the lack of attention the new manager is willing to give this issue. I will gladly upgrade this low star review when the hot water issue is resolved. Possibly, the temperature has been lowered, making it run out faster. Maybe a booster on the heater would be enough for busy times without the expense of replacing the heater.

FLMD popped up on my Instagram timeline as a free 6 week challenge - so bet I was there. There is a consultation, weigh in, and tour. I met with Nevie the gym owner who explained that the challenge is free after you invest in yourself for an undisclosed about. You meet the challenge and you get your money back. I didn't have anything to lose so I joined. I must admit that Nevie worked to figure out why I was not getting the weekly emails and meal plans. So if joined through any META platform (Instagram/Facebook) the emails will be sent to that registered email address. Things that were not transparent to me were: the class schedule not being readily available, the link to view the workouts online so I could join from home, who I should report my weekly weight. Down side to having committed members is that the the equipment is a little bit older, especially in the exercises classes BUT the instructors really make up for it. Although the facility appears much larger in the website photos and videos, it was smaller than expected. However, I was really excited about the experience. Prior to the free class, the staff member provided a comprehensive tour of the facility that included information about the benefits of infrared technology and fitness. The keyless entry location features 24/7 accessibility. As for the workouts, each workout station includes virtual instruction. My favorite was the cycling station. The rooms are compact and blazingly hot, but heat-adjustable. For this reason, I could not imagine being in the enclosed compartments with two other people. The facility not only features the HIIT workouts, hot-cycle, hot-thunder, and hot-blast, but also Isometric workouts such as hot-iso, hot-pilates, and hot-yoga. There is also a small workout area in the back featuring free weights. Smith machine and TRX bands. There are two bathrooms featuring glass showers. They also feature brand merchandise at the front. Overall, the location was clean. The workout rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. Again, I think it is an interesting concept with some amazing results and benefit claims.

I love that they also have a weight area if you want to do some strength training. The membership price $59 is a steal for unlimited classes. I can't wait to return and try more classes. It's so many to choose from since there are 6 rooms; some have workout machines. The instructors are virtual on the screen. I highly recommend everyone try it out. It is low impact and totally worth it.
