So about a month ago i dropped my iphone in a pool because thats what people do when they get tipsy at pool parties, including ME! - After drying it out for 36 hours the screen stayed black and it would not take a charge. Sometimes it would make sounds and the camera light would go on if i shook it. I went online did my research and called around to a couple of places. It looked like Mac Masters had the best reviews for this type of job and when i called them on the phone they were extremely professional and i could tell the CSR was experienced with water damaged iphones and knew exactly what they were talking about. After the girl answered all my questions about the chances and likelihood of bringing my baby back to life and restoring all my precious data. I decide to bring it in the following day for the diagnostics I dropped it off in the afternoon paid about $85 to have the "liquid damage cleaning" repair done to my iPhone. They said they would let me know within 2 days. I get a call that night that my iphones logic board passed the test and that it was successful and ALL my data was restored. GREAT NEWS! Now they say they will work on repairing and cleaning the rest of my iPhones components and that it should be ready to go by tomorrow. Next day i pick up my iPhone relieved that i dont have to spend $700 on a new one from Apple when the 5 is around the corner, good luck getting that to happen in an apple store. Went in with my gf, who after one too many adult beverages, dropped her iPhone right on its screen. Cracked screen to say the least, plus camera flash would not turn off, ever, as in, even when powering down on an airplane. Julia & Jake were very helpful and offered a free diagnostic. Luckily, the camera was still intact and it just turned out to be a faulty connection so no extra charge there. Once Jake fixed that, he installed the new screen in 20 minutes and voila, pristine iPhone. You get what you pay for and though it may seem a little bit more than what you expected, they use genuine Apple replacement screens. I could clearly see the difference in quality of both the replacement screen and the craftsmanship of the repair shops work. I had cracked my own iPhone before and once went the really cheap route from some cellular mall kiosk and basically got exactly what i paid for, my screen slowly popped out and broke again after 2 months, lesson learned!! It was a $140 mistake on my gf's part, but luckily the guys at MacMasters will always be there to save the day. They gave us a screen protector on the house which was a nice touch, especially considering that Jake put it on (those things are a bitch to get right!) If you got a few bucks on you, tip Jake. This guy is an iPhone surgeon! I will definitely be recommending Mac Masters to friends whose iPhones have an unfortunate encounter with a sidewalk.. read more

My iPhone 4S had a crack in it and I originally took it to a Cricket store that claimed to "fix all phones" for a cheap price. After TWO failed attempts and 4 hours later they were not able to put a working screen on my phone. The guy who claimed to be the manager said he could send it out to a friend of his to fix it and it would take 2 DAYS!!! I was not about to leave my phone with this guy! He was extremely rude and claimed he must have just got a defective batch of screens. I asked to speak to someone with higher authority because he was not being very helpful and he said I would have to call the owner in INDIA!!!! I did NOT trust this man with my phone, so I contacted Mac Masters. I talked to Jake on the phone who agreed to wait for me to drive out from N.Phoenix to Scottsdale even though it was closing time! Jake fixed my phone within maybe 30 minutes, and I am extremely appreciative that I did not have to go a day without my phone! The whole staff, Jake, Jeremy and Julia, were great! I was so relieved to have found a place where I could trust someone to handle my phone. Although this company had to pay for my phone repair, it was not worth the experience or the headache I ended up with that day. BEWARE of these phone repair shops and kiosks you see at malls and shopping centers. Call Mac Masters instead! They are worth every dollar! Thank you Mac Masters! read more

A recent update on my experience at Mac Masters. my friend dropped my new iPad last week and i decided to give these guys a try at it since my iPhone came out so well last month! I walked in the girl even remembered my name! I told her the whole story how Im no longer letting friends use my baby iPad anymore! From now on they are getting their own iDevices. Yes im being selfish :) Even though my girl gave me the $ to get my iPad fixed i didn't want to be without it for a day. I expressed my pain to Julia and the tech at the shop and they said not to worry, tehy offered me an express service to get my iPad back to me with a new glass installed within 3 hours. I was in disbelief as walked out of the shop sine the ipad screen was totally cracked into a fine white powder that spread almost all the way across the screen. Julia called me up abt 3 hours later and said it was all ready and i was shocked to see it looking like new again. They even set me up with a realyl strong military grade case - just in case it drops again, knock on wood.. I love this place even more after my second experience! read more

After so many years, I finally decided it's time to breath new life into my iBook G4. I admitted defeat immediately after watching tutorials online on how to restore my laptop. I declared myself incompetent and decided to look for help. Luckily, Mac Masters is right in the vicinity of my home and decided to try them first. Thank goodness i didn't need to look further because they are totally trust worthy, reasonable prices, and definitely no sketch factor. They even tried to save me as much money as possible (tried to convince me to get a better shape iBook they had on hand but i just couldn't part with old faithful) and were always in contact with me to make sure they could proceed with whatever it is that they needed to do. They even cleaned the inside of my laptop and made sure everything was in tip top shape, well as tip top shape it could be considering how old it is. I really am super thankful they were willing and able to fix my iBook. They certainly do go out of their way for their customer's satisfaction. Hooray for Mac Masters! read more

As the name says, they are really the masters. They have fixed two iphone4 phones (one mine and another my friend's - i recommended mac masters to him). iPhone1 - Back Camera shutter was not opening. I took it to another shop (all mobile matters). They replaced the camera and found it was not still not working. So they told my mother board is defective and asked me to sell it better. I took to mac masters. David diagnosed the problem and found it was a front camera issue and since both the front and back camera share the same circuit there was some side effect and fixed it. Whoa... My phone is normal again. iPhone2 (bought in craigslist)- Low WiFi range. Again took to all mobile matters. They mentioned the board is bent, circuit is cut. So nothing they can do. Even they mentioned replacing the antenna will not help. Took it to mac masters. They checked it, replaced the antenna, found some part being bent. They fixed it and the phone is perfectly normal. Highly recommend this. Little pricey though but worth it. read more

I spilled my coffee on my computer randomly one morning and immediately started calling people who could fix it. I called "geeks 2 you" and just based on the incident they determined that there was nothing I could do, that I might as well get a new one. Still, I called Mac Masters and they empathized with me right away! They didn't reject me based on the incident. Instead, they took a look at my computer first and asked questions to understand what needed to be repaired. They kept in touch with me throughout the process and were transparent about their prices. Also, they didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. Some suggestions were made, and they could easily explain why these suggestions could improve my computer. Overall, the whole process was my decision, whereas other companies tend to take advantage and charge customers for everything. Now, my computer works even better than before and it's gonna last me a few more years thanks to their service and suggestions. Definitely check them out! read more

I have used mac masters in the past to replace a hard drive on my old lap top. The employee's were informative and professional. They installed new software for me and my computer is working better than it did when it was new. I recently was having an issue with trying to get my computer and TV to mirror the same image. I did not want to go to make an appointment at mac store so I decided to call mac masters to see if they could help. I spoke with Enrique who was happy to assist me. I told him my issue, he new exactly what the problem was and walked through the process to fix it. It only took a few minutes and now I am able to stream my movie, Internet etc on my TV. This may be an simple issue for many computer savvy people, however I am not one of those. I was pleased Enrique took the time to help and I did not have to wait or go to the mac store and it did not cost me anything. Thanks to all the staff, keep up the good work. read more

Just called this place and Josh told me it would be $99 to replace my iphone 6 screen BUT I had to purchase an accessory. That seemed kinda shady right off the bat and when I tried to ask what kind of accessory I needed to buy because I am on a budget he just said they have over 200 items to choose from, but when I asked what was the least expensive thing in order to know if I could afford their service he just brushed me off saying he was getting another call. He didn't answer my question in order to find out if I could afford their service and just gave me their address and hung up on me. That wasn't cool. As a potential customer I would like to be treated with respect whether I'm on a budget or not and he shouldn't hang up on anybody because he's "getting another call". There's plenty other phone repair businesses willing to offer good customer service and not try to gimmick you into buying any accessories. read more

Go here! Don't waste time looking around. They're super-friendly, calm, efficient and you know instantly that they're the ones to fix your tech problems if anyone can. They explain really clearly what's involved in the repair work, the time it's going to take and the cost - which was a FRACTION of the cost quoted by 2 emergency Mac repair companies in Scottsdale when my MacBook Pro got flooded with coffee. (One other company had estimated $750 to look at it, plus $850 to extract the data PLUS the cost of repairing or replacing the Mac. The other had estimated $1000-$1200 and they'd have to send the machine away). Mac Masters charged $149. The machine needed a new battery which cost $149. That's $298. I chose to pay $149 for an express service and got it back within 6 hrs. Honestly, it's the best Mac repair experience I've ever had. And they've got great iPhone accessories too! I recently had my iPhone screen repaired by Cam and Ted, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and professional. The communication was prompt--Cam and Ted responded quickly to my problem and told me to come in no appointment needed and they would take of me. When I arrived, I was impressed by their knowledge and confidence. They clearly know what they're doing. The repair itself was fast. I expected to leave my phone for a day, but they had it back to me in an hour. The quality of the work is outstanding. My iPad 2 looked like a cheese grater after making a trip from my car roof to my work parking lot. It was ugly and using it left my fingers glazed in a glass powder. I thought my only option was a firing squad but a friend of mine told me about MacMasters. I called a bunch of places to talk about my repair options but everyone I spoke with sounded inexperienced and indifferent about my iPad situation. Most of the ppl i spoke with didn't stock iPad parts or seem to even know exactly what the repair would costs! The difference was night and day once I spoke with a MacMasters employee. This was my first time to Mac Masters and they were fantastic. The hard drive on my MacBook Pro had a major malfunction and they were able to fix it in 24 hours. Dave, my technician, was awesome. He kept me informed on the progress of my repair and was able to retrieve all my data. Before he reformatted my drive, he cloned my computer so he was able to restore everything including applications, files, settings, etc. When I received my computer back, it was just as if "nothing happened". I'm not sure how their pricing compares to the Genius Bar, but I didn't think it was bad at all. $95 for diagnostic/labor and $75 for data retrieval/backup. I make a living using my computer, so to be back up and running for $170 was totally worth it. These guys are great and I will be happy to refer them to my friends and colleagues. read more

after replacing an exploded battery in my old iphone last year, I was hooked. not only did they fix my phone, but they fixed it very quickly! They when I bought an iphone off craigs list yesterday, they hooked me up with an UNLIMITED plan for only $60/month! and completely set my new phone up. I now have a new iphone for 1/2 the monthly payment of ATT Verizon or Sprint! These guys rock! I have been in 5 or 6 times over the last couple years and every time I go into MacMasters, every one is so helpful! I have never left without having all my questions answered and problems solved! I appreciate everything they have helped me with in the past and feel that only writing a good review is not enough. but at least it is something. If I can save 1 person the headaches and money that this place will con you out of, then I will consider my time spent writing a stupid yelp review, a success. Plain and simple if you've got a cracked iPhone screen. Make an appointment at the Apple Store and spend the same amount of money getting genuine parts and a properly fixed phone. It's my fault for going there. It's their fault that they're using knockoff parts that don't function properly and won't refund it when you let them know. And btw, the price was more than the Apple Store. So, now I've spent $300 to fix a screen. Apple fixed and documented everything so I have proof should they like to refute it. But phone is working great now and I'll do my part to spread the word not to go the "convenient" route and just go to the people who make the dang things. read more

The Apple store would not service my computer anymore. Plus Apple takes for ever to actually work on anything and requires an appointment. I was told that there our other stores that I can work on Apple equipment so I googled Apple repairs and MacMasters came up on Indian school Road in Scottsdale I went there to have repairs done on my computer and they did an amazing job and super fast I dropped it off late in the afternoon in the next day it was ready. They were able to explain everything so that I could understand it. I'm very happy with the service and work performed and recommend them to anyone needing their Apple computer repaired. What can I say about Mac Masters?? Truly one of the hidden gems when it comes to repairing anything Apple related, your iphone, Mac computer etc. I have had Mac Masters repair my iphone numerous times. From cracked screens, to replacing my battery, to changing the wireless antenna on my phone. They have revived my phone from the dead numerous times. Jeremy and his staff are always super helpful, do a great job of explaining the best options for your device and the repairs are always very timely and affordable. Sometimes in less than one hour! This is the first Yelp review I've ever made but I thought it was imperative I write one for Mac Masters. When my iphone and macbook air decided to break at the same time I felt that my life was ruined. One, because every item of importance was on both of those devices but also because I loath, despise, and dread with the firey pits of hell the Apple store. I need to get my phone screen fixed because the screen was crackedcked and kept doing this weird thing where it would scroll up. So I took it in and they assured me that my phone would be good as new, I was hesitant because I could just buy a new one on my insurance but they assured me they would get the job done. This has been the worst service I have received, they "fixed" my phone, Only for it to be extremely more messed up than it was before. I came back here after buying an iPhone 4s on e-Bay. The friendly staff at MacMasters fixed my microphone For speaker phone calls. I did not know but the seller on wpebay liked to me and said iPHone was at 100% but they wrong. Now I don't buy on eBay anymore, good Life lesson learned.... Anyway the nice gentleman Bryan had fixed my microphone in under an hour for less then $80 and it was back in business with my sleek iphone... Both techs were pleasant, and genuinely seemed to care about helping me. Sabih immediately took a few trouble-shooting steps and voila, my phone was fixed.
