While I wish the vegetables had been roasted just a bit more, the rice itself was extremely flavorful. The sautéed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts were another massive highlight--they are an absolute must-try from the menu. The seafood was cooked well but a little underseasoned. The rice was very bland. I'd chalk it up to someone having a bad night, but this is the second time I ordered the paella and was disappointed. Served on sourdough versus rye, and it had dijonaise? It needed more. The grilled sourdough needed more grilling as well. The accompanying fresh cut french fries were great. You order at the counter, and host, Ryan was quite friendly and knowledgeable. My wife had the recommended Boneyard RPM and she loved it. I stuck to Sierra Mist after the wine. We did see someone giving "pleasure" to someone else outside in a car. Not a great sight while eating. Good experience, not great...but I will still come back.

We discovered the Bitter Monk through a friend who lives locally. At his recommendation, we visited for the first time about a year ago. This weekend was the third time we've returned. This weekend they were hosting the Wonderland Brew Fest. Live music, at least 30 different brews to chose from, wonderful local pretzel vendor, and a food truck! Absolute heaven! McMinnville is a little piece of heaven just south of Portland... The Bitter Monk makes it just a little more perfect! If you're ever nearby, stop in and enjoy a lovely brew.
