First of let me say that the pizza was AWESOME. Tonight, 6pm, I was a part of a group of 8 women hanging for pizza and beer. We were the only people not at the bar, and were sitting at the large table under the speaker. One of us asked if the dance-club loud music could be turned down "a notch" and were answered with "sorry, we can't do that". No problem, we just moved to the other side of where the speaker was. As we moved the waitress light heartedly joked "hey ladies can you take your coasters with you, the boss keeps track of how many I use." Weird, but ok. One of us ordered a pizza to take home to her husband, but had it brought out with the other pizza and ate a few slices. When she asked for a box the waitress came out with a styrofoam container. She then asked. "Can I get a pizza box I can take this whole thing home in". Again, this is a 14" pizza with 2 square slices gone. "Policy is the pizza boxes are for take out only, our owner is very particular on this and there are cameras she'll see me on if I give you one." We asked for the person in charge and were told that it was "just us two employees". This waitress seemed scared of losing her job if she gave us a pizza box instead of two styrofoam containers. The pizza was AWESOME and my gin and tonics were perfect. But if your employees are afraid of you watching them on camera and keeping count of every cardboard coaster and pizza box they use, then you may want to rethink being a restaurant owner. read more

Waited for 50 minutes for our food. Not even an update from the server. We had two adults and two kids. At 45 minutes we asked if they forgot about us or what. (There was not another food customer in the place at 6:45 pm on a Sunday evening.) Apparently, the call-in pizza orders take priority. The server wouldn't even look at us after we wondered where our food was, which was funny b/c there was only about 12 other people in the place, most of whom seemed to be regulars, all drinking beers with no food orders. The cook had to bring the food to us. Nobody ever checked with us after we received our food (too bad, because the burger lacked pickles, lettuce, onions, etc.) The cook brought us our tab, while the server ignored us. He took off $9 for the burger b/c of the wait, but the bill was still $30 for a large pizza and an order of tacos. To be honest, we've never been treated so poorly by a server. Felt real bad for the cook b/c of the lack of help. The food was just ok. The burger sucked. It was a little greasy and bare. The tacos were like we had in the high school cafeteria and the pizza was ok but served way too hot to eat -- the ice water was good though. I actually like this place quite a bit. It's loud and busy, but it has a small town feel. The food is better here than Jimmy's Food and Drink, which is down the road. I find I like the drinks here better than just about anywhere else... they have more of what I like to drink. Fun to watch Vikings football games here! read more

well this is one of those places where if you are not a regular they dont really care about you. put 5 bucks in the juke box and when they didnt like a song, by stevie ray vaughn, they just skipped it to one of theirs. what is the point of having an internet juke box if you dont let the patrons pick what they want? plus there were quite a few very young people in there drinking , and i'd be surprised if they were 21 but they knew the bartender so i'm sure it was ok. have had the food nothing to write about. read more

We came here at a friend's suggestion, thinking it would be a fun place to get some drinks and dance. I cannot comment on the drinks as I was the sober cab, however the dancing was much lacking. My friends and I stuck around for quite a while waiting for some decent music to be played. A friend even attempted to request numerous popular songs only to learn that they werent on his playlist. After spending time attempting to dance to bland music ( I must add that my friends and I are not overly choosey with our music and will happily dance to most music) one of my friends approached the dj set up to once again get a song requested. The dj was no where in sight and was neglecting his station. My friend tried to look to see if there was a song list. She was up there for a minute or two until a rather large obtuse man approached yelling at her. My friend was appologetic and tried to explain what she was doing. The so called dj was very rude and dissmissive with her. Approximately 30 minutes passed of us attempting to dance and any requests being ignored. The dj continued to leave his station alone for long periods of time and ignored the people near his area. Along the dj set up was a ledge where many drinks sat of people in the nearby vicinity, my friend too had her drink there and when she reached for it the dj came barreling over and accused her of messing with his equipment. My friend was stunned she tried to explain what she had been doing but he ignored her and accused her of being drunk and beligerent. Another friend who had seen the whole incident attempted to explain but the dj was refusing to listen, much like he had earlier in the night. He the. Stated that he had talked to my friend 3 times about this and that we needed to leave, which was completely inaccurate. The dj continued his tirade and then said we were out. At this point there was no point in arguing with someone who was too stuck on his power trip to care. Needless to say after our interaction with the dj who was too lazy to do his job and who obviously needs to learn more about the music industry we left and went to another bar. I do feel the need to add that there was another dj there who was off duty at the time, not the heavyset/obese dj that we had dealt with earlier, but someone who was friendly and willing to listen who even offered to get us back in the bar. With all this being said I would avoid this bar if one notices a heavyset man with an attitude problem manning the dj booth. People like him obviously need instructing on how to choose appropriate music, deal with situations and also apparelantly count. read more

Service was awful. One waitress for the entire place and she was crabby. We were way over charged and I asked for a receipt and she would not give me one or even run it through the register- kinda fishy! Would not recommend this place. read more

Just have to take the time to say this place has the BEST pizza around! Their meatball subs are also excellent, all their food is good but I have a very hard time not having pizza when I go there, my teenage son is in love with the taco pizza! Also a great place to go to see a band and do some dancing, I highly recommend macalouso's! read more

This is an up-north type bar. Contrary to previous posts the bar service was good and the happy hour was typical but no apps are discounted. The spicy BBQ wings are very good but they are MN spicy (not really hot). It's a bar with food, not a resturant that serves drinks. Recommended for a couple looking for that up north feel and maybe a little dancing. read more

I love the Dive bar atmosphere! Its fun to be there with a group of people. I thought the wait staff were perfectly friendly and have zero complaints. The patrons are friendly enough. The food has been consistently good. But the Roadhouse pizza is to DIE FOR.... seriously! read more

We went there for my husband's birthday with some friends. My husband and I sat at the bar to order some drinks and we waited and waited. A couple came down and sat next to us. They were waited on first. Finally when a bartender came over to take our order i pointed out that we had been waiting for a long time. The bartender aggressively began to argue with me, denying that we had waited a long time. She then refused to serve us. She told the other bartenders not to serve us either. We went and sat down with our friends. We were not loud or drunk or obnoxious in any way. The owner then came over and told my husband and myself that we had to leave. I have never, never been treated so disrectfully and especially not by a business establishment. We will never go back and we will tell everyone we know about our terrible experience. That was not a very nice way to have my husband's birthday turn out. read more

Visited your establishment on 1/27. Never in my life have I EVER experienced such disrespect as a CUSTOMER in an establishment! Server was terrible sat for 20 mins without being greeted, waters sat empty for an hour, someone from my table got up to get refills from the bar. Was never asked how the food was tasting which was also terrible (not the servers fault). However what was the servers fault was her reaction. Proceeding to tell me how many people you're serving and blah blah blah after I watched and listened to you complain about how terrible your tips were to the bar patrons as well as not allowing the other server to take a table when you were asked if you needed a hand. When you could have and should have been checking in on tables is not going to get you anywhere with me. Also cussing at me and telling me to go to a "different fucking bar" is not how you handle an upset guest. Absolutely appalling! I don't care what type of customer service job you're working you NEVER handle a situation that way. Sadly according to other employees this "server" if you could call her that because it was basically self serve the whole 2 hours we were there has a reputation of this type of behavior. I will not be back! Not a chance. I got my coach purse and I'm donezo. I try to cut servers slack since I am one but the moment I was yelled at and cussed at as a customer was the last straw. I do not know the servers name as I was never properly greeted by the server. However the bartender was involved in the interaction and was nothing but apologetic. She will know which employee this is in reference to. The fact that I was told this is how "she" reacts tells me she has a history of mistreating your guests and telling them to go to another bar is ghastly. I at this point do not plan on returning nor do my two other friends and many other people in the area who have heard of this terrible treatment. Why this sever felt it was appropriate to yell profanities at patrons is beyond me and I truly hope it does not go un noticed by management. As it is surely not going unnoticed by your customer base. Please tell the bartender thank you as she tended to our drinks a majority of the night and was never anything but pleasant through this entire ordeal. read more

This place is very judgemental. I was warned by my father in law (who is a regular at this place) about the night bartender (name starts with an H)is a gossip/ drama queen and will kick you out at the drop of a hat. PLUS she plays her crappy music WAY to loud, to the point you can't have a conversation. I seen her kick out a couple that I was talking to for NO reason. They did nothing wrong!!! Don't get me wrong, the food (pizza) is excellent and H does a great job (except for her better than you are attitude) but this place is way to clicky for my taste. The woman that works during the day ROCKS and so do the bloody marys!! But stay away during the evenings when the "Queen Bee" works if you want to sit and have cocktails. I met one of the owners one time and he was SO nice and funny to boot (he popped in during the day). Food great!! But Holly the Queen Bee bartender needs a permanent vacation!! read more
