The pasta is delicious!!!! Most of the pastas are made in house at the restaurant so you know they're fresh. The bread is from a local bakery I mean it honestly does not get better than that. I don't think there's anything you could get that wouldn't be delicious.

Pasta Amatriciana is a MUST GET at Maccheroni in Rome!

After many meals of hunting for good pasta, Maccheroni finally delivered! Their Pasta Amatriciana was divine (I hate goat cheese and ordered it cheese-less)!! If you want the one place that I recommend for pasta, Maccheroni is THE PASTA place. I was honestly disappointed with most of Rome's pasta because most restaurants serve bland food (I'm a believer that both the sauce and the proteins should enhance one another). This is literally 1 of 2 restaurants that my tastes buds happily devoured pasta.

Our first option on Yelp for lunch was closed... we walked around but didn't like the other choices when we stumbled upon Maccheroni. We reviewed the menu and decided to wing it. I looked at the Yelp reviews once seated and was grateful it had 3.5-4 stars. Ordered the fettuccini w/ ragu sauce and the Cacio e Pepe. The menu said that only 2-3 pastas were made from scratch including the spaghetti and fettuccini. We decided to try both pasta dishes which were made "in house". The Cacio e Pepe was delightful, not overly saucy and the right amount of cheese. The fettuccini was somewhat boring/bland. The pastas were both Al dente.. I mean Al deeeente.... But good nonetheless.

Awesome local vibe. Non touristy! Cannelloni is one of best things i've ever had! Motz and Proschetto was amazing

Good pasta and atmosphere. The restaurant was crazy busy though, and the seating was extremely cramped. We were sad since they didn't have a truffle pasta offering, but the item we ordered were good overall. We also made friends with one of the waitstaff, he was really friendly. Overall, pretty good restaurant!

Had dinner last night at Maccheroni. At first the hostess couldn't find our reservation. She found it written on the bottom of the page. The bread was hard and dry. I ordered the cheese Ravioli and it was tasty. My husband liked his Chicken cacciatore. At the end of our meal the waiter came to my husband and bent down and said "Gratuity is not included, you need to leave me a tip" I found that to be extremely rude. I know this is something that happens to American tourists. We didn't experience this at any of the other restaurants in the area. We definitely won't be returning if we aren't going to be treated with respect. There are many wonderful dining places to spend your money.

I found this restaurant on TikTok and absolutely loved everything! One of my favorite meals on my Italy trip, I would recommend to anyone visiting Rome. We sat outside and loved it!

Honestly I couldn't fine a more authentic italian restaurant, not only is the food terrific, but you are taken back in time to a place that feels like a neighbourhood trattoria, even though it's in the centre.

The food was exceptional. Probably the best ravioli I had while in Rome. Absolutely delicious

Stumbled across this place on our way back from visiting the Pantheon. You know it's good when it's busy but the turn over is fast. We say outside and enjoyed a late lunch. Both the food and service was excellent. Our server was very accommodating, and even offered us an English only menu to make the dining experiences easier. He cracked a lot of jokes with us and made it an enjoyable experience.

Daniel, the son of the chef and part owner was gracious and conversational and made great recommendations for our dinner. We started with a crispy sage leaf appetizer made simply with sage leaves lightly battered and fried in olive oil. Yummy! All of the pasta is made fresh and Mary selected Ravioli ricotta e Spinach while I selected Saltimbocca alla romana (Veal slices in Roman style) and both dishes were delicious. After dinner we opted out of dessert, but Daniel brought a treat to the table consisting of two sugar coated cookies and suggested we soaking them in our wine as a final treat. They were Wonderful! So far one of the best meals we have had in Rome. We would both highly recommend this restaurant, both for the family atmosphere and the great food. We hope to return before leaving Rome.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.
