Had difficulty in accessing my computer due to a password lockout. Brought it to Maccoy Computer late on a Friday afternoon. Lots of potential for a major expense and reinstallation of software. My computer, purchased from Dell last December, started having a problem of sometimes not being able to start. I first tried doing a chat with Dell - it was useless. After much back and forth, the chat guy said that while it was working, he could not diagnose the problem. Well how the heck could he diagnose it if it wasn't working?!? So then I turned to MacCoy - my first experience with them. Brought it in, and Brandon quickly diagnosed it as a power supply problem, as evidenced by the green light at the back going out. The Dell chat guy never mentioned that. With that diagnosis, we were able to have Dell send a replacement to MacCoy. It was in warranty, so I was only charged for a minimum amount of service time - well worth it! Bottom line - if I ever needed another computer I would go directly to them for. And for any future service that might be needed. read more

I have had screen issues since I received my laptop from Dell. Two Dell technicians came and "fixed" the problem (including replacing the screen) without any difference in graphics quality. MacCoy Technologies was able to fix the problem that Dell couldn't over the phone without me having to leave the house or even get dressed. Chris is amazing! read more

Do NOT take your computer here. I brought my laptop to them to have the broken power jack replaced. About a week and a half later, they called to tell me that the motherboard was fried and had to be replaced. I asked how this could be since the computer worked just fine when I had it and actually booted up in their store with no problem. I was told this somehow was caused by the broken jack. I refused to authorize the repair, knowing that they had to have caused the issue, and was finally told they would replace the motherboard. I was told it would take 5 days. Two weeks later, the computer was finally ready. I went to pick it up and found that they had lost the power cord I had brought in with the computer. The next day, after a phone call and email to them, they finally located the cord. However, the power jack is still somewhat loose and the cord has to be placed just right for power to feed to the battery. Also, my computer is very loud compared to what it sounded like before I brought it there. Please do not ever bring your computer to this place unless you prefer to pay for them to make your problem worse. read more
