I took in a of Hard Drive that I needed to get the files off of. I brought in a flash drive and my hard drive. I called to check the status of her getting my files and the owner informed me that the flash drive was broken. I offered to go and get and deliver a new one and he told me he has working flash drives and that he was transferring the files over. That's quality customer service! A problem pops up they figure out how to fix it outside of your original request. I will only do business with this shop for any issues regarding an Apple I have. They go that extra mile to make sure you are taking care of and don't have to waste time. They recognize that you your time is valuable and go that extra mile to help you. I appreciate everything that this shop has done. He told me he could fix my Mac apple laptop. A month after I dropped it, I called him to get an update and he said he couldn't fix it but I had to pay him $90 to get my laptop back when he did absolutely nothing to it, he's nothing but a rip off. He didn't fix my laptop and I wasn't going to pay him to get that old thing back so he kept it. I'm sure he fixed it and sold it for cheap. NEVER go to this place he will steal your stuff. read more

Thank goodness for The Vintage Mac! My late 2009 iMac crashed and I had made an appointment at the Mac store in Millenia mall. After lugging my 27" HEAVY iMac into the mall, I was told they couldn't help me. It was a bit frustrating because they new what year computer I was bringing in (did I mention it was heavy? ... and I lugged it into a busy mall?) and when I arrived I was told my computer was "obsolete." Anywho, one of the guys working at the Mac store told me about The Vintage Mac. I took it there that day and that's when I met Craig, the owner. He was quiet, listened to what the issues were and said he would call me in a few days for a diagnosis. About a week later, I heard that my computer was repaired. It cost $170.00 and would buy me about another 6 mos - 1 year to use it. WHEW! That is much cheaper than a new computer which I wasn't able to purchase just yet. Now, I can back up this old timer and make sure I'm ready for the next one. If you are heading their way, give them a buzz to make sure they are there. Its a small business and hours may vary. They advised it would be a week to run a diagnostic test, then another 7 to 10 days to outsource it to repair a logic board and would cost at least $750. When I asked if he was going to outsource it why don't I let apple do it he advised Apple would charge a couple thousand dollars to replace the same logic board. Went to Apple the next day, Apple replaced the logic board within 4 days a no charge, because the logic boards was defective on the 2011 MacBook Pro's. Good customer service equals fixing the problem even when the purchase was five years prior Bad customer service is telling the customer it will be two weeks, you will outsource the repair, and charge them close to $1000 Take your item back to Apple for repair read more

I tried to go to Simply Mac- and they had an "emergency" that their only technician was unavailable for over a week. So I looked for someone else --- found this on Yelp. From the outside- this place did not look open. The interior was a mess as they were moving in to the location. I was really unsure about having my computer looked at. BUT, let me tell you - not only was my computer immediately fixed; but, it was something minor that the Apple store told me would be quite expensive. I am so impressed with Macdoctor- not only was my computer fixed; but, i was not even charged because the issue was so minor. Last year I had a system failure with my 27 inch MAC. The Apple store refused to fix it because it was out of warrantee. So took it to a local shop, they promised to fix it quickly. After three days of testing, replacing hard drives and more endless testing, we were no closer to solving the problem. The owner suggested the computer to be transported to the Vintage Mac for more in-depth testing. The owner of the Vintage Mac, Craig, has an outstanding reputation throughout the Apple community in Orlando, so I felt confident I might be on the best path to recovery. I drove it down to his shop, he put it on the bench and in less than an hour it was working perfectly. Since then I have referred many friends to the Vintage Mac with great results. I have upgraded my MAC Book Pro, purchased additional computers from them, and the entire experience has been great. Things are fixed on time, within budget, and the customer service is excellent. I have a IMac that I purchased 7 years ago and that wouldn't boot up. After spending 3 hours on the phone with the apple support team, I was told that my local Apple store would not work on it, as it was considered a "vintage" computer. After a lengthy search I found The Vintage Mac. Craig, the owner, has been working on Apples since 1990 and was extremely hopeful. What rude unprofessional people!! This place came recommended to me by a friend so I gave them a call. Apparently an outsourced place handles MacBook airs out of Melbourne and I happened to call when the guy was in town. He asked for my serial number and said he'd call back with an idea of cost so I could know whether to drop it off with him that day to take to Melbourne. An hour later, no call, and when I called back Craig at Vintage Mac said 'oh well you'd have to get here in 5 minutes because he is leaving.' Confused because I was sitting around waiting for a call, asked if there was a way to coordinate with him and he said only if I got there in 5 minutes, and basically hung up on me. What a waste of time and no sense of wanting to help me whatsoever. Even if t was a busy time, i would rather go to a place that is nice and makes me feel valued, which this place did not. read more

I brought my computer to MacDoctor to see if they could recover the emails I lost when I did an operating system upgrade. Steve is really great to work with, he got my emails back by restoring my data from my backup disk and then performed the operating system upgrade that I had messed up. My iMac went into a loop when downloading photos to a thumb drive. I took the iMac to Vintage Mac at their old location on Edgewater Drive. Craig said that he would work on it and to expect a call in a couple of weeks. When I didn't hear back for more that a month, I called and was informed that Craig was ill and I should wait and call later. I waited for three more months and called again. I was informed that they had moved to a new location and in the process, they lost my iMac! I told them to keep looking and I would call back. I called back (multiple times) and they would not return my calls. I contacted the BBB who also heard only crickets when they called The Vintage Mac. I guess the next step is legal. read more

These guys are an Authorized Apple Repair company, and an honest one at that. I brought my computer in and it was full of dust on the inside. Quite bad. It also wouldn't turn on and had blinking lights. I know some about computers, and I thought maybe a power supply, or something worse. It turned out to be just a bad ram card. They vacuumed my machine, and got it working again. And they only charged me the initial fee that they take to look at any machine. I will definitely go back, and recommend them (they easily could have told me they worked on it for 2-3 hours at $85 an hour, but they didn't). I am definitely a fan. read more

Steve worked on my sons 13mth old MacBook Pro for 1 day, replacing hard drive and cable. the Apple store had previously said there were numerous problematic items and would have to send it out to be fixed at a flat fee of $755. They tried their very best to rip me off! They accepted my computer and said they would perform the repair, then, a week later, told me that they could NOT repair it, and could NOT obtain parts, and said I still owed them the $55 fee diag fee. If they had told me that they didn't have appropriate parts nor could get them, I wouldn't have gone in! I had to complain to the Better Business Bureau and Apple in order to get their attention. The owner was so mean to me, and told me that if I didn't pay, he'd keep my $2,000 Mac, and then said, "I only have one thing to say if you don't like it........ GET A LAWYER!!!" Horrible business ethics. Save yourself headaches, time, and money and just go to APPLE in Altamonte Springs Mall, Millenia Mall, or Florida Mall. Also, there is a great shop a few miles away that is authorized through APPLE and works on PC. Call them. 407-740-7587 LAPTOPS PLUS. They were much more friendly and honest. They told me, straight up, "I have never done this repair before, but call in a few days, after I look into it." Instead of accepting it just to gain a fee like the Mac Doc!! read more

I've had decent service in the past. Not as well as the apple store but always cheaper and more personal. But this past experience had left a bitter taste in my mouth. I will never take my computer back there again. I dropped my computer off for a diagnosis a little over 2 months ago (still don't have it back) and every time I called they gave me the same excuse and also lost track of my computer on multiple times but always had an excuse. I decided to travel a little farther due to the reviews I saw. I had an iMac that would not boot up to the desktop. I really didn't want to put a lot of money into this iMac because it was a 2008. I called and everyone was very nice. We discussed how much a new hard drive might cost, so I could have an idea if I wanted to try and have it fixed or go for a new machine. After speaking to them I decided to drop it off and let them have a go at it. To my surprise, they said it was just a corrupt OS and no hardware would be needed. I was charged two hours of labor and they only had it a little over a week. I thought it was a bargain and the amount of time they had it did not matter to me. Got my computer back and within three days it started acting up again, not as bad as before, but after a few more days, same problem would not boot up. Good thing I had backups of everything this time. I dropped off the computer again and they had if fixed in half a day. One hour labor and a new hard drive and 1/3 total cost of a new iMac later. I asked if maybe I could get a discount on the labor since I payed for two hours previously and still had the same issue...That didn't happen. That's the difference between three stars and four. But the computer is running great now, Just like it did when I first got it in 2008. Except for the part about my Super Drive not working now. I'll just cut my losses with this computer and use it the way it is, if I want a new Super Drive I'll buy an external, but I don't use it much anyway. read more
