I am honestly beyond frustrated. This place is absolutely unbelievable. I spoke with Cassandra earlier today to schedule an appointment with Dr. Manuel Rodriguez, and what she told me makes zero sense. Apparently, because I had my vitals taken three years ago by some doctor I don't even remember choosing, they've now decided she's my PCP? Without informing me? That is outrageous. Now I'm being told I can't even change my PCP because of that? Are you serious right now? How is it acceptable to assign someone a primary care physician without their knowledge or consent--and then refuse to let them change? This is my healthcare. On August 27, 2025, I texted them for a same day appointment with my primary care provider. Unfortunately he was unavailable that day, so I accepted an appointment with Dr. Carlos Roldan. When I was seen and examined by him, he stated that I was to go straight to the Methodist Hospital emergency room. He also said NOT TO DRIVE MYSELF! (HE STATED THIS 6 TIMES)I informed him that I had driven to my appointment by myself. AGAIN, he insisted that I have someone come to pick me up and take me to the Methodist Hospital emergency room. After examination by the emergency room physician, I was admitted to the hospital. When I was released from the hospital, I returned to MacGregor Medical Group only to find out that MY CAR HAD BEEN IMPOUNDED!!! He happened to be in his parking spot when I got there. He wasn't even apologetic for his negligence!! As a result, I spent nearly $300.00 getting my car out of impoundment! read more

Had my appointment cancelled after I signed in by Dr. Santos. I realize they request that patients arrive early however I couldn't make it happen due to traffic issues. Ive been here before and have never been seen at the scheduled appt time that I arrived for. They usually dont see patients for about 30 min or later after the scheduled time of arrival anyways . They asked me to reschedule but I found that ridiculous and left and will never come back . They are never on time and expect patients to be there on time and still wait abnormally long to be seen. read more

I have been a patient here for about 10 years. I can attest that these 1 star reviews are accurate. The administration / management / logistics of this place seemed to hit rock bottom over night about 5 years ago and they've never rebounded. I'm currently in the lobby as we speak and my appointment was 60 minutes ago. My guess is that it will be another 15 minutes before I'm seen, 30 min alone in a room and then 3-5 minutes with the doctor. (This is the average). Anytime I have to wait in the lobby for more than 90 minutes I send the doctor a text and ask him to reschedule as I had waited. (Update: I waited 90 minutes - no one would even answer me at the lobby desk so I left. I'm charged a no-show fee and the soonest possible next appointment is a month from now - for a simple medication refill). Are the doctors good? "Sure". None of them are "bad". If it wasn't for the fact I had over 12 years of medical records and history I would have gone to one of the 1000 other places in town. If I were the group of doctors at MacGregor I would fire the entire staff and administrators and relaunch immediately: modernize into 2025, this place is stuck in 2008. Since this has been going on so long it seems like they aren't even aware of how bad it's gotten (or worse, don't care). read more

Let me start by saying I had UnitedHealthcare HMO and this was the only provider in network that could take an appointment within shorter time frame. They have pretty open availability. They offer a texting service to assist you, so you don't have to call. They also prescribe meds pretty quickly once you have the appointment. However, the customer service & overall bedside manner is lacking tremendously. They don't answer texts for days at a time. They send prescriptions that insurance doesn't cover or no local pharmacy carries. I asked for a referral and it took two days for them to ask me the reason behind the referral. Then, they made me make an appointment with Dr. Ranjani Amin BEFORE I could even get the referral. Mind you, this was for an emergency situation. They would also send prescriptions without prior-authorizations and these would be for scripts that would go out of stock QUICKLY. So I'd have to call them and wait over twenty minutes to talk to someone. It's one thing to offer flexible service but you actually have to be able to provide it. If you need immediate care- go here. The doctors & medical assistants at this clinic are exceptional--knowledgeable, caring & truly dedicated to patient well-being. Their expertise & compassion make every visit worthwhile. However, the front office staff leaves much to be desired. Patients should feel valued, not like interruptions to personal conversations or office tasks. A medical practice exists because of its patients & a little courtesy, efficiency & professionalism from the administrative team would go a long way in making the patient experience as excellent as the medical care itself. I was told repeatedly that lab work was walk-in & they would take me immediately. After I signed in & waited 15 minutes, I checked on the wait. I asked, "How much longer will it be?" The response I received was "You did not have an appointment. Look at this stack of patients! We'll get to you when we get to you. You were a walk-in." I said, "Bye." The office clerk said, "What's your name?" so she could take me off her list of thing ("patients") she has to do. I sincerely hope the office staff recognizes the importance of serving patients with respect, as the doctors & assistants here deserve a front desk team that reflects their own high standards. read more

Today is 2 weeks that my test results have been in. I've been trying to get since Monday. Unbelievable !!!! They have a patient portal but they don't put your test results on there. Why have this if you don't use it. Now they tell me I need to call the customer service portal. How is this my job. I don't have my results what could I possibly put. If I could give this place ZERO STARS I would!! The front in staff is VERY unprofessional and RUDE!! I was turned away!! Sent home by the staff because I didn't have appointment, was not allowed to schedule an appt in the lobby!! 4 hrs later after being sent home, they decided to see me. What a freaking joke. I, amongst others, have watched the steady decline of the entire office (not that it was ever stellar to begin with). I used to see Dr. Senger before he moved away and they stuck me with Dr. Onuma. Every time I come it's a waste of a $30 copay because all she ever does is refer you to someone else. You're a doctor, why don't you try doing some work yourself? Dr. Senger wasn't that great when he was here but he always took it upon himself to look into whatever the issue was, not just shoo me away. And on top of that, Dr. Onuma's nurse is quite rude and always over the top. I scheduled an appointment for my boyfriend who was needing a new doc and when he came in complaining about allergies the nurse refused to believe it was allergies and insisted on doing a Covid test. Lo and behold, it was negative. And not only that she acted like he was diseased. I'm not really sure why she feels the need to be so extra. On another occasion I came in to verify my pregnancy and I kept asking the same nurse if the test was going to be urine or blood but she refused to answer my question even after urgent pleas of desperately needing to go pee. I had only had virtual visits in the last couple years and unbeknownst to me, my previous PCP retired. I chose Dr. Amin as my new doctor and I'm very happy. Making an appointment is easy, you can text to request on. The receptionists are friendly and Dr. Amin and her nurse are great. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Amin. I came in for a physical after just turning 50 and she was thorough with her recommendations. She went over the vaccines I needed and certain tests that are recommended at my age. She was attentive and listed to me as I am also a cardiac patient . When I went have my labs done I was convinced that it would take several attempts to draw my blood ( I have small rolling veins and this has always been an issue for me) Christina was the one to draw my blood. I warned her that I am a hard stick and that it may take her a few tries. She was very nice and said she would look at both arms. I secretly think it was a challenge for her. Anyway, she took her time feeling around and then decided on which one she would try. She got it on the first try. I was elated and let her know so. My physician is Dr. Manny Rodriguez. This is by far the worst in service/operations I have ever experienced, therefore I will be switching doctors. Dr. Rodriguez had instructed me to have a radiology test along with one prescription medication, neither which was ordered by the medical assistant. I had tried to get in touch with somebody on the phone approximately 4 times and could never get anybody other than the scheduling department. In order to have the medical assistant finally call in my radiology request to STRIC and fill my prescription medication, I had to drive to this busy office and requested to speak to the medical assistant. She was too busy to see me so I left a letter to the doctor telling him that none of my orders was submitted by his nurse. This was corrected within 2 days. I had received a degree in a medical field and for my occupation I have called on hundreds of physicians' offices throughout my career. Dr. Rodriguez is of average skill level when compared to other physicians but this is the worst operationally run clinic I have ever gone to and I will be switching facilities. I called yesterday for an appointment and got a 10 am for a new patient. Pretty good and it's located across from my work, even better. Arrived 10 minutes early despite searching and getting the last parking spot in the lot. Waiting room was full but with 10 doctors I didn't expect to wait long. An hour later, I follow up on the wait. They tell me at that time the doctor is running late and that I'm next. Waited a little more and then just gave up and asked for a refund and yes they take your money before sitting down and not during check out. read more

It pains me, but today I decided to find another GP, and permanently leave Macgregor. Life is too short to struggle with a poorly managed organization, no matter how much you like the physician. I've been coming here for over 10 years. In the last few/couple of years, there has been a noticeable decline in service. I'll spare you the details, and just give a quick summary: -- Loved my doctor, he was great. -- The poor execution of the support staff is simply unacceptable. It's beyond dealing billing or rudeness. It literally impacts patient care. God help you if they need to communicate or otherwise exchange information with another organization (specialists, pre-auth, insurance, etc.) -- The portal is not good. I know they didn't create it, but they offer it as an web/app based solution for communication, health records, etc. -- My wife left several years ago when her rheumatoid was misdiagnosed as pneumonia, and the prescribed treatment made her extremely ill. read more

I really want to give this place 1 star, but some of the physicians are very very good (Dr. Jose Sanchez, who I've seen once or twice). However, please don't come here. Just to call to make an appointment is a whole ordeal and the people at their call center are flat out lazy and rude. Dr. Senger is arrogant and doesn't seem to like to deal with mental health issues and likes to hand out pills. Sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour every single time I visit (even though they ask you to arrive early to avoid LATE FEES) just for the doctor to talk to me for five minutes. Well he left the practice and I have been waiting for MONTHS to get my records so that I can get them to my new doctor. This despite the Texas LAW that requires it to be done in 15 business days. The doctors are good, but you can NEVER get through on the phone. I feel that they should stop accepting new patients until the staff can keep up with current workflow. They have just lost touch of the personal touch that people need, especially when they are not well. When you call, you can only leave a message. You can't speak to anyone. If you call 10 times, you get 10 machines picking up. You leave your name and number and still don't get a call back. A person should be able to reach their Primary Care physician the same day, even if just to make an appointment. Just really disappointing. I referred two of my friends here a couple of years back and they have expressed disappointment with service and doctor attentiveness. Not sure what the problem is, but they need to fix it. this place is a joke. try to find a more organized clinic, unless you like hanging out for 3 hours for a simple dr. visit. if you want to know more, read on... -staff is curt and abrupt. you aren't human, you are cattle. and it's not just one, it's all of them, I'm sure management is to blame. -I'm also blaming management for the high turnover, it seemed like most of the staff was new and had no idea what was going on. -Abrupt employees usher you here then there, they speed walk you through the halls. They ask a question and don't give you time to answer before cutting you off. -They are extremely disorganized. My experience was that I was just being seen for a checkup, but, my wrist got hurt a few months back and is still hurting, so they send me back to labs / X-Ray. Homeboy was about to take my labs when I interrupt to tell him, it's for an E-Ray. They don't believe me so they confirm and indeed I don't need labs, EYEROLL-- then the lab tech who walks a million miles a second takes me back with her, tells me they put my info on the wrong customers form and switched us up!!!! There was like only 4 people in the entire clinic today. So come to find out, I have to take a pregnancy test before she X-rays me, even though there is no way I can be pregnant, fine... they have to CYA, so she speed walks me to to the bathroom then tells me to wait in some obscure waiting room, doesn't tell me where, and when she sees me in the hall asking where it is, she gets annoyed and points in a general direction. Then 2 seconds later she comes to get me and speed walks me back to the lab. on top of all this, she is a complete curt bitch to me the whole Xray. Like WTH? Also, They make you carry your own chart around from place to place, tracking is too hard for them, they make you wait for like an hour to see the dr. Once in the room. I am literally in the room now and it's been about 45 min since they brought me back. I'm having a pretty chill day so I'm not gonna Karen out on them but holy hell... they need better management and better organization. And maybe like... a jumpy house for the staff of something, maybe jumping on a jumpy house will wiggle the sticks-out-of-there-asses! OY!! Their COVID policies are antiquated. I was refused service because I was congested. They were trying to force me to get a COVID exam before entering. Had they told me this prior to making my appointment, I would have cancelled it. I was there to see the Dr because of my severe allergies amongst other things. When I called and asked why they did not tell me their covid response, they said it was my fault for not mentioning I was congested. Simply ridiculous! They need to update their covid policies and response and not deny their patients service just because they are congested. That is plain unethical. read more

Dr. Manuel Rodriguez is great and very professional but it's actually this medical center that's for some reason I firmly believe not patient-focused nor patient-friendly at all. I walked in today per Dr. Manuel's assurance that I do need need any appointment for my shingles shot. I was told by a lady in the admin/front office area that they do not accept walk-ins anymore, stopped doing it two years ago. I told the lady I fully understand but made it clear what Dr. Rodriguez instructed me, and it was not two (2) years ago. Next year I would really go to a different clinic, I wish Dr. Rodriguez have another clinic that I could see him, this coordination communication and professionalism issues with their front office/admin staff is really a great blow to great doctors like Dr. Rodriguez. The ratings patients post here are valid and understandable. They scheduled me for 2pm today saying that's the earliest available. Thought the lady who talked to me and the lady who checked me in and helped me with other stuff are nice and fairly polite, I never heard not even put nice an apology for their "policy" of not taking walk-in patients for injections. That's really the last straw for me for this medical center hullabaloo! They really have a serious issue with coordination, communication and professionalism particularly with their front office/admins staff. I understand that this is still a business but it's f not for the patients, they would not exist in the first place. They should also improve on their paying system as well. A voice/automated announcement of a number and the window number as well which patient would take note when they sign in should be more efficient and professional as opposed to yelling loud out patients' names. Doesn't sound good especially if they are mispronouncing names. The could also invest on an electronic signing in system like what Labcorp have. This clinic is loosing me & several other patients fast due to their "new " PCP"s They are older drs that have no respect for their patients nor our time time. I will be changing along with a few coworkers that are extremely dissatisfied. Before retiring I was a patient of this clinic over 10 years with Dr Oliver then was assigned Dr Onuma she's a total rock no emotion no consideration for anyone but herself. Schedules u to go in then keeps saying " what are u doing here I already referred u to a specialist "(while the specialist can't see me til 3 weeks later) I have to ask for her to check my ears she just wants to bill for seeing me 5 minutes of her time not to mention the office staff tells u to arrive 15 mins early & u still have to wait between 30 mins to 3 hours to see then for 5 mins -I TIMED IT WHILE WAITING- 6 mos later went to urgent care or asked to see the PA various times finally Changed her after continuous lack of caring for my health 2nd new PCP Aung asked the 2nd visit, who's ur pcp??!! Like really?? & refused to fill out FMLA because he didn't know enough about me & inherited me from the previous irresponsible dr. Whom also says see one dr at a time why are u seeing different specialist?? And neither of these drs have requested full blood panels or asked about mental health The office manager Anthony Espinoza doesn't return your calls told his reps to provide an email & he'd look into it! But it's an invalid email not answers his calls. I waited 6 mos for him to answer changing drs But he can't return my call with this urgent need?!! In between the 6 mos of waiting to not see dr onuma I was paying urgent care clinics & or seeing the PAs in house when I only visited w/Dr Sanchez only saw twice but she's the only one that did help me , referred me to 4-6 different drs after an injured left hand & shoulder But now I feel as if I'm blacklisted they aren't caring about anything just getting a payday when I go in. read more

Front desk staff is atrocious. Lazy, ignorant, uneducated, and let me mention lazy for a second or third time. Dr. Senger is great and the only reason I come back, I have weighed it out many times... In a time of illness and immediate need I had to see Dr. Oliver.... HORRIBLE PHYSICIAN. He came in rude and aloof, completely disregarded everything I told him. He also misdiagnosed me, if he diagnosed me at all... He just prescribed me a bunch of things, that would actually make me worse if I didn't know better and know enough to call in a favor to some cross-state friend physicians... I had food poisoning, of some sort, disregard that and lets just treat symptoms. Prescribe medication for heartburn, stomach pain, and muscle spasms, all of which will dehydrate you. I happen to be a semi-educated patient, and generally intelligent human being. I only go to the doctor in these cases when it is necessary. Based on the extent of my conditions, his next logical step would to shove an IV in my arm and tell me to hold still for 20 minutes, but no. He did warm up later, oddly (considering my condition) but was not open to offering any legitimate assistance. Luckily I reflected on all of this while in line at the pharmacy and grabbed some items that would actually help me. To reiterate, front office staff is HORRIBLE. MacGregor Medical Center has about 10 physicians that specialize in internal medicine and family practice. Over the last couple of years I have gone twice and seen two different doctors: Dr. Jose Sanchez and Dr. Mark Smith. Dr. Sanchez visited with me about some neck pain I was having and I found him to be friendly and helpful. He spent about ten minutes just talking with me, and even asked me if I carry a really heavy purse, wear high heels a lot, etc. It seemed like he could have just said I needed an x-ray and left it at that, but I felt like he wanted to give me some practical advice too. Dr. Smith was nice as well, although maybe not quite as chatty as Dr. Sanchez. Dr. Smith listened to me patiently and then prescribed a couple of follow up ideas. I found the nurses to be efficient, with the exception of one in the X-Ray department who was pretty rude. However, the nurse in the lab was very skilled at drawing blood and the check-out lady was funny (she said it smelled like either feet or Cheetos, which started an odd conversation... I mean, do they really smell the same?). As opposed to the last person who reviewed, they billed my insurance first and said they would send a bill. The wait to get in was probably about 15 minutes, which included filling out paperwork. Overall, MacGregor seems a decent place to get basic problems looked into and physicals done. The doctor was short, didn't let me talk and spent maybe 2 minutes with me. Unprofessional, rude, the worse. Never going back. I'll miss Dr. Oliver but not this place. Today's experience was enough for me. Macgregor has an option where you can text them. I texted them and asked if my doctor was running behind. Their response was "I do not know if he is running on time". I went in for my appointment and as soon as I check in, they say "the doctor is running an hour behind". In the past month, my initial appointment was canceled so I rescheduled. On my rescheduled appointment, I went in and they said the doctor was running 1 1/2 hours behind. I work so I said I couldn't wait this long so rescheduled. Today, I got the same exact response - "Your doctor is running an hour behind." Like many of you, I don't have 2-3 hours to spend for a doctor's appointment. If you don't mind waiting or for your appointments to be rescheduled, this office is the one for you. I submitted feedback to Macgregor Medical but have not received any responses. Just like companies are having to adapt to be a bit more customer-centric, doctor's need to do the same. We all live busy lives and with COVID-19, I do not want to be sitting in a waiting room full of people. Hopefully Macgregor will begin doing a better job at treating its customers (patients) a little better and being mindful of their time. read more

The doctors might be good. But the office communication system is the worst I've ever seen. You are put on hold forever, then disconnected. You can send them a text and never see a response. Try to get a prescription and it takes an act of congress. When trying to get the paperwork for an infusion for covid, the clerk kept arguing she faxed it to the location and the receiving end said they never received it and back and forth she went. The attitude of the clerks and office is very rude and totally unresponsive. They don't care about the patients. Maybe the doctors are good but the office staff is driving me away. Also, this is not based on one bad visit but rather over a two year period. I'm changing, its not worth the hassle even though I like my doctor. 0 stars for the staff. read more
