My daughter went to Mach 1 in Little Canada to get a quote on installing her stereo system. The person quoting her was not only rude, but he gave her a quote of $2400. What? I thought this was a joke. I called the guy who gave her the quote and he was serious. And then proceeded to hang up on me when I called him out. Mind you this was not the stereo system which she already bought, but just labor and some install kit. I have had similar work done for $300. She went to get a quote at Best Buy and they quoted her about $700, which is still quite high, but not $2,400. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Had a basic headphone jack installed. Got my car back and the remote start is now not working. The factory map function is glitchy and buttons are sticky/not consistently working. Front office staff is arrogant and talks down to me. Never go to this place - I won't even let them try to fix what they broke. The headphone jack they put in is bulky and overbuilt. I didn't get a good idea of what I was buying - just the front office guy assuring me condescendingly that he already knew what I wanted. What a waste of money. And now I need to find someone else that can fix all the damage. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Got a new audio system put in my truck, should've done it myself. The technician dripped solder all over my carpet and left tape and wire scraps everywhere. Broke multiple clips for trim pieces so now it's lose. Lost trim pieces as well and had to order new ones. Then had awful communication to schedule that. Took multiple emails and calls and over a month get a response. Went back twice after initial install to fix speakers from cutting in and out but they NEVER did fix it. Ended up going to a different place to have their work fixed. Would not recommend.... ever! read more

Absolutely terrible service. Mach 1 installed a remote starter on my car that caused my locks to lock and unlock repeatedly every time I picked up speed from a stoplight. My car also thought the driver's side door was constantly open. I brought my car back to have it fixed. They took it for several days--leaving me without a vehicle--and claimed to fix it, but did not fix it. When I asked the manager, Brent, about removing the remote starter from my car, he immediately concluded that the problem must have existed before they installed the remote starter. He was overtly hostile and wanted to charge me for removing the remote starter. I would never use this company again even if they did the work for free. I dropped my car off to get a remote starter installed to a 3pm appointment. They told me it would be 4 hours so I took an Uber home intending to be back at 7pm. At 6:10 pm, I get a voicemail informing me I have 10 minutes to pick up the car otherwise I need to wait until until tomorrow. I live nearly 30 minutes from the location at rush hour, as I'm sure many people would. When I called them back, their "fix" was to leave the keys inside my unlocked car's main console because that's somewhere "safe." It's absurd. They told me four hours and someone should be there to give me my keys and discharge my car at this time. Unbelievable! Update: When I arrived to pickup my car, the manager had waited for me, which I thought at first was a nice gesture until he started telling me that I couldn't be "reasoned" with and he had had a long day and just wanted to go home but had done me such a big favor by staying. Everyone is very knowledgeable and will take care of you after install too. I lost my fob for the remote start unit I had installed by them through a third party. Hopefully they've hired new people and take their work more seriously but these guys started the trunk on fire in a brand new 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT That was owned by a Minnesota Vikings player. Two minutes after Driving away from the property I could smell smoke coming out of the trunk and sure enough these guys tried connecting an entire new subwoofer system using the cars stock subwoofer cable. I was shocked at how bad the work was and the idea that they tried connecting the new speakers using part of the cars stock audio system..SMH!!!! It's too bad because the owner of the vehicle had a career ending injury before It ever started, And then he got his car back and he hast to drive around with it smelling like a burnt piece of toast forever. This happened in 2013 so hopefully they have removed the people who clearly have no knowledge of car audio installation from this location on Rice Street. Everyone deserves a second chance but when you start somebody's trunk on fire you burn through 9 lives quickly, no pun intended. Came into Mach 1, in Little Canada, Minnesota. I did this in good faith, expecting and hoping a replacement of my Radio Antenna would allow my Radio to function normally, as my power antenna was sheered off in a car wash's spinning brush. Upon completion of the install, it seemed to work pretty good, until I drove no further than a mile or two, and the reception was similar/same as NO ANTENNA, I wanted it taken out right then, upon determining that I had been HAD, and charged $93.xx for the inconvenience in NO FUNCTIONALITY, couldn't get it right back in for removal at that time, late in the stores hours. Inconvenience multiplied by "victimizing policies" as in "same day refunds", and since they wouldn't take car back in to remove the antenna, their 'retarded refund policy', now causes their new victim/customer to be relegated to wait up to 10 days for that refund, which in the Customer Service acumen is null and void, and now counter productive, in the positivity of appreciable 'word of mouth advertising' which SHOULD ensure that happy customers will share with friends and family, that's advertising that is "invaluable", as it isn't paid for advertising, to get similar goals and results. IF, customer service translates only as an unsavory poke in the eye, then these companies and entities need to remove their signage and products from the buildings, and lock up, go home! Bringing customers into your establishments, and then springing the feckless representation for and about the customer, to a grinding stop, only being concerned about the stores convenience, the bottom lines, and retardation of half baked policies and procedures, seems wholly and completely without customer concerns involved, as long as the stores fecklessness is the prime concern, your customer base will thin out to nothingness, then what is that fecklessness truly worth? If only I could give a negative star!! We were trying to get a remote start added to my daughter's vehicle as a gift. We booked the appt for the 31st having to drop the car off the night before. No worries. We call (they don't call us) late on the 31st....couldn't get it done. The mechanic had car issues. They will get it done on the 1st. Ok - No issues. She didn't need it until the 2nd. Well the 2nd rolls around, we still have no car, my son has already had to miss practice because she couldn't drive him there. And guess what happened on the 2nd??? THEY ORDERED THE WRONG DANG PART. Tomorrow, they say! We called back - nope, not tomorrow...maybe a week. who know. NEVER EVER AGAIN. We are picking up the car and going somewhere - anywhere - else. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! read more

These guys are hacks. My son bought a car with a remote start and alarm system installed by these losers. Aftermarket remote starts are nothing but trouble and then we started having a power draw on the battery. I looked under the dash and to my surprise, there was about 2 miles of wires wrapped in about 1 mile of electrical tape. I've never seen such a pile of crap as that. So, not knowing where to start, I bit the bullet and brought it in. They installed, they should know how to remove it. This jackwagon of a "technician" simply clipped all the wires and pulled it out leaving all the open wires just hanging there. Still had power draw but now it was because the open wires were shorting, not allowing the car to go into sleep mode. Spent another $300 to have a garage sort everything out. I wouldn't recommend these clowns to change a battery. Pay them at your own risk. read more

Meh. Had an amp installed, it had a bad eq setting, the reps did no demonstration of work, and ultimately had to redo the work myself. When I removed the head unit to redo it, I learned they just stuffed the amp along with wires in the cavity, and engine bay. There was no t harnesses, no tesa tape, no heat loom, just a badly spiced batch of wire. Also 2 screws were not put back when reinstalling, I found them in the well underneath the stick shift, as well as the stick shift was scratched. read more

At least one sales guy looked right at me like I was an alien (I'm guessing because I'm female) and kept moving without a word. There was a group of guys chatting in the corner, and who knows how many of them work there; it was hard to tell. It was a shame, since the prices were right. But if I'm preparing to spend $300 in your establishment, the least you could do is acknowledge my existence, even if it's just to say you'll be with me in a moment. I walked right out. I had an Intoxalock installed at the Hopkins, location. They never showed me how to use it. Never told me to go online for information. They handed me a 3X4 1/2 fold out. I have had difficulty with getting it to work and have called them several times. The installer Mark was helpful but the manager was a real ass. I told him of my problem and asked if I could bring the car back to have it looked at. He hung up on me. I called again and there was no answer. I called the Intoxalock helpline and I was put on ho;ld for over an hour. Twice. I tried to contact them via their "24 hr 7 day a week helpline and I would get put o hold and it would automatically end the chat before I even started. I did thgis over 20 times. I then called Mach 1 back and told them that I wanted the Intoxalizer removed. He told me he could not do that without Intoxalizer's permission. I asked how to get that and he said I had to write them a letter. At this point I was upset and asked again if the could check the installation and machine. He laughed at me and hung up. IT IS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD ! read more

Do not recommed this place. wasted 4 hours of my time and didnt touch my car... I booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance for remote start install, was told that the install could take about 4 hrs at the time of appt booking. I dropped my car off at the scheduled 1pm and again was told approx. 4 hour wait time. Waited down the street and I recived a phone call almost 4 hours later when my car should have been done saying that they wanted my car over night and they hadn't even started on it. Installer came out and explained that he wanted to "take his time" installing it and offered to reschedule at 4pm on Monday. Really got the sense he just wanted to go home early since it was a Friday. Should notify customers that they're running behind to reschedule or at least stay and finish the job so customers time isnt wasted. read more

I can't pair new remote if the old remote break or stop working. So I need to go back to them for a new remote and pairing. It's a rip off for leave out the valet button. read more

Only one month ago I came here expecting them to do a good job but instead they installed the stereo but took away the bass from my factory which was once working perfectly fine. I moved to Los Angeles a month later and both of the brand new front speakers they installed just stopped working out of nowhere. I recently bought a 360 degree dash cam for my truck, I ordered the dash cam online a Vacron VVH-MDE52 360 degree dash cam with 4 cameras in one unit for around $350 Plus warranty and tax. the company I ordered it from was very helpful until they shipped it, after that their helpfulness ended. I still needed to have it installed so I called them and asked them to recommend an installer it took for ever because they don't answer the phone they use a answering service but after a few calls they gave me a list of places to go so I started calling around and none of these places had ever heard of the unit I bought and could not give me a serious quote on the install because they didn't know what it would take to install this unit all of them said between $200-$250,I paid over $350 for this thing and I needed to get it installed but after checking those places reviews I was not going to risk my truck and the install with any of the places on the list. So I called Mach 1. I had used them before to install a dvd/cd player in my last vehicle and they did a great job. I asked them what they would charge for the install and they gave me a price lower than any of the places on the installers list. I brought my truck up there today and they installed the unit at the agreed upon price and I am happy to say that so far everything seems to be working correctly (cameras, Gps unit, the microphone and the DVR box) all of these things are separate parts, their employees where very helpful and answered all of my questions they did a great job on the install= no wires showing and it looks very professional. Not a real good experience. I purchased a Viper remote starter a couple of years ago. Worked fine until both remotes broke at the key ring. I ordered a new fob and tried to program it. That's when the fun started. I spent an hour crawling around on the floor trying to find the valet switch. I called Mach 1 and they told me it would be under the dash and accessible. I tried for another 1/2 hour and finally drove in to the Rice Street location. He came out and looked and said he couldn't find it either and said that in order to get to it I would have to remove the bottom of the dash. I asked why it wasn't accessible since it allegedly is used for valet services. He said nobody ever uses it for that so they stuff it where ever. He said they charge $40 to reprogram a remote. So basically I would be paying $40, plus the remote cost, because they didn't make a supposedly accessible switch accessible when they installed it. Not a chance. I went home and popped the bottom dash. Two of us looked and still couldn't find the switch. I gave up, returned the fob to Amazon and on principle I'm getting the Viper pulled and replaced at another shop with another brand. I refuse to be ripped off for $40 because they didn't do their job the first time. Very lackluster customer service. I wouldn't bother buying here again. read more

It's nice to be surprised not only by the prices but by the service and honesty. Also, they are not pushy. I just had an install by Mach 1 Little Canada, MN. The staff are the nicest people and knowledgeable. I thought my indoor speakers were going bad so I picked out some basic speakers. They installed the radio system first and told me to leave the speakers or upgrade because mine were fine and sounded better than the basic ones I picked out. They had everything ready including the remote control linked up that came with the radio (remote for a car?). While I was there a guy came in that must have just had an install. He said it won't power on. A guy jumped out from the counter and knew exactly what the auto owner was doing wrong (without using "wrong" and went out to show him how to operate the system. He was a walking instruction manual. Nice to be surprised! I don't write many reviews but this made my day. read more

read other reviews and thought i needed to contrast. i am an engineer, a bit of a music snob and audiophile purist, had experience doing high end car audio in the 80's, have a $30K home system. i walked into the rice street store - admittedly not an apple store atmosphere - with a pretty good idea of how to do up my brand new 2016 Chev Colorado. Within 10 minutes Bruce took my pretty good base knowledge, built upon it and walked out pretty excited. i came back to meet installer steve and then josh offered some amp suggestions. the system ended up having custom fiberglass sub box made in house with a JL thin line sub, and the spiffy top of line focal separates all powered by a 5 channel all in one JL amp. installation was impeccable. sound was audiophile quality. had a bad amp out of the box. they swapped it out with a temp and replaced with a new once back in stock. read more

What an epic waste of time. I can not believe these guys are still in business. I booked an appointment 3 weeks in advance for a remote start, and was told in needed to put a deposit down to hold the appointment, I proceeded to put a hundred dollars down. when I arrived to my appointment the guy said they accidentally sold the unit my car needed and didn't have the right phone number for me so they couldn't call me. (Not to mention I think he mention he was out of it because he hurt his back and was on a lot of pain meds) I asked him when this was he said two weeks ago, when I asked him why he didn't just order a new unit he said it was because he couldn't get a hold of me he didn't want to do that....Despite the hundred dollars I put down? I said to call me when the unit is in, and gave him my correct number. I never received a call, so when I called back again they claimed to have the wrong number again, but never ordered the unit, and could find any notes on it. At this point I just wanted a refund for the hundred and to never talk to them again. I called to get the refund and the guy on the phone told me he would have to call me back, and asked again for my correct phone number. He never called. I called again to get a refund and this time talked with the manager, who claims to not have my correct phone number....REALLY FRUSTRATING! read more
