I've used Joe several times, he can do good work of course but he can also show little or no respect to you and your project as well. He recently did a job on a boat he clearly wasn't terribly interested in. He didn't put the boat back together, screws out, put a huge scratch in a custom paint job, left stuff everywhere, made zero effort to clean up. And worst of all didn't latch hatches he opened. It poured rain and flooded the interior of the boat. Caused 10 grand in damage at least, didn't even have the courtesy or apologizing. You get what you pay for, he can do basic installs, but don't trust him or you'll regret it as I do. read more

I'm a huge fan ! I bought a couple Wet Sounds HTX-6 amps and six Revo 8 speakers, and 2 JL Audio subs years ago and got **very busy** I looked for a year for the right guy for the audio refresh. System is hooked up artfully, gains and crossovers well adjusted, LEDs pulsing, and fit six 8s in 6.5" holes. I'll do more with Joe becsuse he does a walk through and has what he needs. I am from out of town (California) and needed a stereo and back-up camera that I had bought on Amazon installed after I had botched the job. I had a car starter installed in December. I am very happy with the work done. Their response time is very fast. I t was installed the next day. Today I had trouble getting the remote to start the car. I text him tonight. Within a few minutes, he had me text how many times the car flashed. We set a date and time as to where we would meet. I arrived about 25 minutes early. After 45 minutes I texted him - no reply. Sent another text about 30 minutes later with the same result. TLDR: I went to Just One Electric for a CarPlay install. I dropped off the car for 24 hours and despite being told otherwise, upon picking it up the install was not at all done. Didn't hear back from Joe for days but did eventually get a refund. Wouldn't recommend unless maybe you can go and sit and wait and watch the install. I recently purchased a 2013 car with no updated radio system or Bluetooth and I decided I wanted to get CarPlay installed in it. I researched a lot of different places and got quotes from about seven businesses in the Twin Cities that do installs and ultimately decided to go with just one electric because he had mostly five star reviews and was offering to do it for the cheapest amount. At first, everything was good and we communicated over text to get a deposit in and set up a time that I could go drop off the car so he would complete the install. But immediately on the day that was supposed to happen, there was a strong lack of communication. When I got there to drop off the car, the owner, Joe, did not answer the phone nor any texts to come get the car so I left the key in the dropbox and went home. I Did not hear from him for about three hours. When he gave an excuse that seemed a bit rude (made me feel bad for texting and calling him to check in on where he was) but he said that he was working on the car and then it would be ready in about an hour. I was going to the state fair so I picked up the car the next day and Joe had said that he would have it ready for me. But when I went and picked up the car, absolutely no install was done and the car was exactly the same as when I dropped it off more than 24 hours before. Upon finding the car in that state, Joe did not respond to any calls or text messages. I drove off with the car. I am a young woman and was frankly scared and confused. I did not hear from Joe for about 24 hours when I sent an official request for a refund (on the deposit) via email. He responded, apologized and A couple days later I did receive a refund. Joe was nice enough to reimburse me for the Ubers I took to drop off the car. He offered me a discount and said we could try again and apologized for not having the best service and for the entire situation. Since he offered me a discount and seemed sincere, I tried again. He said he could come pick up the car in the end he flaked and gave more excuses and couldn't complete the install. in the end I'm giving him two stars because he did try to make it right and he did give me the refund and that reimbursement, but it was just a real struggle to work with him and the experience of those 48 hours when he had, my car was very scary because nothing was done and I wasn't sure what was going on. I know Joe has mostly all five star reviews and recommendations on Facebook and yelp so this is just me throwing my experience in the ring. I want potential customers to know that if communication is important to you and you want to clearly know what's going on with your car, especially when you are investing a lot of money into a service that it might be better to go somewhere else. read more

Joe is a real craftsman. He installed an Xtrons headunit and a backup camera in my 2007 Honda Accord. Joe's work was careful and well thought out. His workplace is clean and organized. He knows his business. He is willing to try new installations. He is thorough. Honda had bet on an integrated complex CD changer with the 7th generation Accord. The CD is today's 8-track. I asked Joe to install an Xtrons Android 12, 4GB Ram, 64 GB Rom Headunit that also handles the Accord's environmental functions. Joe's installation brought this Accord's electronics into the 21st Century. The car now rocking in the 21st Century with a 10.1" screen. It is bluetooth Car Play and Android Auto capable. If I could give a -1 review I would! Buckle up, this review will be lengthy. I promise I'm not a Karen, and only complain when it's absolutely necessary to help others avoid the horrible experience we had with Joe, the business owner. I had initially communicated with Joe via messenger as I had found him on FB. He was wonderful, communicated well and seemed trustworthy. I was trying to get a car starter installed for my son as an early Christmas gift as a surprise. I made this very clear to Joe right away. I live in Ramsey, which is 1 hour and 8 minutes away from his residence. My plan was to have my husband and I secretly pick up my son's car from high school, drop it off in Lakeville, have the starter installed and pick it up in time to drive it back up to school to surprise him. We had to drive back up north to Rogers for my husband's doctors appointment right after drop off. Also, please note, I had made arrangements for my ex-husband and his wife to meet us at the high school to surprise our son as we were going in on the cost. I was told the instal would take 2-3 hours. We made the appointment and he had said that he'd text me the night before to confirm. That should have been my first red flag, I texted him instead, no response. I gave him the benefit of doubt that we were still on as I received an official scheduling text with the address and all of the information. During our conversations days prior, I told him I'd drop off at 8:45 and needed it by 12:45 at the latest to get back up north in time. He said, no problem. I was very clear about the timeframe and our plans and communicated this several times, he continued to assure me that it would be no problem. We were giving him 4 hours even though he said it would take 2-3 hours. Fast forward to 1220ish. I had texted Joe first asking the status as we were in the area early just in case it was ready. No response. I then called him, no response. We were circling the neighborhood and drove by seeing that the truck was where we had left it (started getting worried). Within a couple of minutes, Joe called back. He proceeded to tell me that he had "not even touched my truck yet". I was in disbelief and said hold on I'm almost there. As we rounded the corner, we saw him leave the garage. I walked up to him and said "are you kidding me!?" Trying to hold back my tears. I also said "you couldn't have just called me to tell me?!" My husband was standing next to me by then and he was not happy. Joe put his head down and said "do you want to know the truth?!" To be honest, I didn't care what excuse I'd hear coming out of his mouth at that point. He proceeded to tell us that he's "an alcoholic ". I'll be honest, my husband didn't take his excuse well and made it very clear to him yelling out that his personal problems were not our problems and that he's running a business. I admit, swear words were used, he was not called any, but the F bomb was used in general. Joe proceeded to ask my husband why he had to be so "harsh". Here's the deal, sorry that you're struggling with an addiction, but like my husband said, that's not your customers' problem. We LITERALLY wasted over 4 hours of driving and gas! And 2 of those hours were gas for 2 vehicles! Not to mention our time and my husband's day off. Oh, and time off for my ex to meet us at the school at a certain time for the surprise. We were/are livid! Perhaps get some help before you run your business. Clearly if you're admitting and advertising that you're an alcoholic, not many people will want to do business with you as it may indicate a lack of reliability (case in point). To make matters worse, he couldn't find the key to his lockbox that we had dropped the keys into. So we had to wait and then watch him pry his lockbox open to give us the keys. I see now he has several 5 star reviews from a year plus ago. I'm sure he does a good job, when he actually decides to do the job. I also see the 2 star that the young lady left. I feel her pain, very similar experience. I'd like to add, Joe called out when we were leaving whether there was anything he could do to make things right. My husband said (angerly) "yeah, you can Venmo my wife money for wasting out gas and time). An hour or so later, he did text asking my Venmo info. I sent it to him. Nothing... I'm not holding my breath. So, if you're still reading this. I'm sure Joe can be a good guy and does a good job. But please be ware of what you may encounter considering the admittance of his condition and our horrible experience. read more

I found Joe from Just One Electric when I finally decided to upgrade my car stereo system as a treat to myself. Upgraded speakers & tuner/receiver..... extremely happy with the result. I like precise sound, but don't have the language or knowledge myself, just know what i like. Joe impressed me when he talked about sound quality, vs. Just 'louder bass'. We had a few glitches along the way (to include me totaling my car from deer hit just 2 mos. After install.) Joe worked w me to upgrade my replacement vehicle by re-purposing those mostly new speakers from totaled car & then adding receiver & 5 more speakers. From what I know so far, he stands by his workmanship, & has said he will be available should I have any problems. I don't have the means that probably a lot of his customers do, but he worked w me to find an upgrade to make me a happier commuter that didn't break my bank. Highly recommend.
