Surgery Day: I did my surgery at the Rowland Heights location and I was surprised on how efficient the whole process was. I give credit to the team for reaching this optimal point for us. From the front desk staff, assistants, and laser surgeon Dr. Pham, my experience flowed very smoothly as they walked me through their very simple-to-follow instructions. They talked me through the whole thing so if you're an over thinker like myself, this put the racing thoughts to rest. The procedure itself was smooth, quick and wildly painless. I thought blinking would be an issue and even after they explained to me how they numb my eye and keep it lubricated, I still thought I'd have the feeling to blink. Little did my overthinking brain know that it was effortless not to blink. It seems like I've been ranting a bit so I'll summarize that recovery from the SMILE surgery was a breeze. Although my eyes weren't yet fully healed nor at their peak vision, 8 hours from surgery I was able to read from a distance! Incredible! I had -3 & -4 prescription with astigmatism and wasn't able to see anything passed 5inches from my eyes and I was able to read from more than 15ft away. 2 weeks post-surgery and my vision is excellent. 2 months post-surgery and my vision still clocks in at 20/15. Results will vary of course since we don't all heal the same, but the doctors at IQ Laser Vision do a stellar job at qualifying you during your consultation. So back in a couple weeks to finish that part of the exam while hopefully, concurrently picking up my new eyeglasses that the optical department was excellent on helping me refine the large number of variables to customize the stylish eyeglasses. My eye care office of 20 years prior to this one had me spoiled with regards to not having extra charges like Riverside eye specialist does - a fee to use credit card and more billing if I bring glasses for warranty work or adjustment. Arriving way before my appointment did not keep a long wait from happening well past my appointment time. The twiddling of thumbs was ameliorated by the terrific multi-faceted intersection of geometry, celestial windows and sight lines of the modern architecture that the office is in. The black and white featured photography further added to distraction from waiting in funky furniture that is nOt complimentary to the noted delights while having further wait time to get the key to the bathroom.
