The winery itself is fairly new, but it clearly has great potential and is already off to a strong start. The tasting room is set in a converted barn and you can still see remnants of its past. It adds a lot of charm and character to the space, making it feel both comfortable and welcoming. While we didn't sit outside, the view from the property is nice and would make for a relaxing spot to enjoy a glass. Overall, I highly recommend stopping here. Their vineyard varieties are still limited--cab sauv grapes to make cab sauv wine and rosé. They also offer wines from Forever Winery, which recently closed. We had a glass of cab sauv, and for a new winery, it was remarkably good. My husband also had a Merlot from Forever Winery, which was also well done. The location, while not the easiest drive (down a dirt road), pays off with a lovely view. The ambience was lovely, and the owner was quite friendly. I highly recommend it as a new place to try and for regular visits. If they keep on the same trajectory as their excellent start, they should become known as a place for good wine, good views, and good company in a relaxing environment. You will want to bring your own food, though, since food offerings are quite limited. I expect as they grow, that will expand, but in the meantime, bring a picnic basket and enjoy your visit.

It worked out perfectly because I'm a white wine fan while my husband prefers reds, so naturally we shared every pour and declared ourselves a two-person tasting committee. Now let's talk about the food. The truffle popcorn should probably come with a warning label because it is highly addictive. We kept saying "just one more handful" until the bowl mysteriously emptied itself. The fresh baguette with pimento dip was equally delicious and paired beautifully with the wines. The winery offers plenty of seating options, whether you prefer lounging on the grass, relaxing indoors, or enjoying the covered patio. We chose the covered patio, which provided the perfect balance of fresh air, vineyard views, and shade. And yes, I'm actually going to mention the bathrooms. They were some of the nicest winery restrooms I've encountered--modern, spotless, stylish, and clearly well-maintained. It's one of those little details that says a lot about the overall experience. Great wine, delicious food, beautiful setting, immaculate facilities, and outstanding service from Hannah. Greenhill Vineyards has earned every one of these five stars. Northern Virginia has a lot of winery options, but Bluemont offers a few things that make it special. First of all, it's huge - tons of indoor and outdoor seating on two levels. They take reservations. We made for one for noon on Saturday. We were seated upstairs/indoors but eventually moved to their upstairs deck (we were there for hours and wanted a change of scenery). Their views are incredible. You can see the Blue Ridge Mountains from practically anywhere on the property! I hadn't seen my friends in months, so we stayed for almost five hours. We started with their white wine flight, and then we had a few bottles, too. We also ate (beef empanadas, a flatbread, and some black bean hummus). We enjoyed most of the wines (between the flights and bottles, I think we tried 6 whites and 1 rose), and the food was pretty good, too. The service was great - Lily and Rose were our servers (there was a shift switch, since we were there for almost 5 hours) and they were wonderful. They were a little busy downstairs when we arrived, but it's such a large space that there was plenty of seating for more. (It seems to be a spot on wine tours, because there were a few buses when we arrived.) I'm not sure if you really need a reservation, but I'm glad we had one since our plan was to eat lunch at the winery. We had a great time at the winery. But the highlight of Bluemont Vineyard is the property itself - the views, the space, and outdoor dining!

The driveway and parking lots are gravel. I recommend parking at the first lot for the tasting room. I didn't see the upper level of the barn during my visit. I ordered a flight of 4 wines for $17 from the menu. I like that I can customize my selections from a list of whites/reds, instead of a flight of all whites or all reds. There are tables and chairs indoors, and they do have tables and chairs outdoors as well. The outdoor view is simple, nothing special. 3 more couples arrived after we sat down to enjoy our flight, so it was not completely empty, but it felt quiet. (Also the sign on the window just hadn't been flipped!) Corcoran seems to specialize in ciders more than wines. We went with a flight of the ciders- some of the flavors were a little odd tasting especially the Knot Head . The Sinful is one of my favorites though, having had it at 1836 before. The overall selection is pretty small so there isn't much to come back for unless you want to purchase more of their options.
