Been going here forever , with my family/. I love it. Cheap entertainment for the weekend and free parking is a plus! Be prepared to walk through/park in lose dirt though. It does get crowded by the afternoon though, but if you can stand the crowds and figure out how to maneuver through then you won't have a problem There's always SOMETHING to find here, from pets, to beauty products, to car supplies, and shoes/clothes. I think over the years I've become partial to the back area where it's basically like 20 different families having yard sales. I found a high chair for 20 bucks here that was pretty much brand new. I paid a whole 15 dollars for a jogging stroller in awesome condition. When my brother and I were kids , we got our pet parakeets from there, and one time our mom let us take home a duckling. We had to give the duckling away to family members, but they said he lived a long life :) Always worth it to get a churro from the churro vendors or some shaved ice depending on the weather. They have roasted peanuts, and kettle corn too. I've only eaten at that restaurant inside once, it was okay, but it's something I only do if I'm REALLY hungry and can't wait for anything else in the area. I noticed they added a train ride for kids recently as well. Oh and the people with the flower shops have the prettiest flowers ever, and at affordable prices. We always take some home to my grandma. This swap-meet is rather unique in it's own way. Parking is free and it costs 50-cents a person to go inside. So far this is the cheapest of all the swap-meets I've been to. Looking for a pet? This is the place to be because they have everything from hamsters to peacocks. Life span after you've bought the animal though is questionable as these poor fellas are all crowded, smelly and looks neglected at an extreme extent. They have some pretty sweet deal on pet foods though, I would come back for those if I didn't live far away from this place. The things they sell at this swap-meet is about the same as any other place, but I suppose anything goes in this place because they also have some fake items also. I gave one star because the place smells, literally. Also not very much are buyable unless you're looking for pet foods and farm goods (which are also questionable). read more

We've been going to this open air market for YEARS and have seen vendors come and go. This review is particularly for the wonderful vendor at C14 and their authentic and high quality Asian/Oriental plant life and other paraphernalia. We LOVE Asian decor (from the expensive to the cheap). Throughout the years we took time to visit (and negotiate prices) with quite a number of vendors with similar products for sale, but the reliability of the price, quality, and customer service is NOT nearly as good as C14's (I will update this review if that ever happens)! First of all, for those complaining about the smell, get over it!! It's next to a farm you morons! That's like complaining about the smell next to a dumpster! I gave it 4 stars because: It is very big, free parking and only 50 cents to get in. They have a lot of birds and rabbits. I will probably be returning to get a rabbit. I've never been to such a dirty, rundown and just horrible place. We love swap meet shopping but, we will never return to this place. Nothing good to shop for and all the animal booths in here are horrible. They treat the animals terribly. Small confined cages, not enough food, no water and all the animals look sick. Decent out door swap meet, vibe is a little different. I've been to many swap meets this one is very different. The vendors are very similar, every row has pretty much the same items. It was nice not $0.50 to get in and easy parking and access to get in. I was happy and yes I know they illegally sell birds, they have been for over 5 years from what I was told. If the authority has done nothing then it must be allowed. The reviews that shame this place for animal cruelty should call the police or do something. Protest call the local news but just sharing this venue for this is not fully giving it justice. Will visit this place again read more

Tuesday morning is just as crowded as the weekend. Still lines for the corn, peanut and popcorn. Same live music. Same amount of vendors in the parking lot area. Not as many in the stalls. Good mix of commercial stuff with yard sale crap. Definitely possible to find a treasure or two. Bring your own drinks though, small bottles of water are $2, 20oz Pepsi is $3 etc. Free parking and .50 admission. I had my car key fob reprogrammed here $15 took 5 min. and also bought a half flat of large strawberries for $7. Some vendors had them for a bit more , some a bit less. A walk of the entire place stopping to look at some stuff took me roughly 60 min. Typical to find cell phone accessories, clothes for $1 or less, toys, plants, tools, cheap cosmetics, under garments, shoes , restaurant cookware and random whatevers. read more

This swap meet is great. It's fun to go to with or without kids. The smell surrounding it is not bad at all. It's settled in Chino/Ontario area cattle city so there shouldn't be a surprise to the smell. The vendors are nice many with new items mainly in the covered sections where you can find clothing of all kinds. We went to find pinatas for my nephew's bday. Found D1 who has the best ones, pretty & great quality for less than other vendors. We went back to buy 3 total. They're really a nice family to deal with too. This swap meet has a bar inside with $3 drinks & complimentary pop corn. You can't beat that. Food mart is available inside too. They have a live band who plays super good. It's made up of older guys but they're very entertaining. $50 entrance & free parking on the dirt side. No biggie. It's a good place to go and relax for the day & get some good deals. read more

IF your a vendor get ready for Mr. Toads wild ride . First of all you get there around 530 am and you walk up to a snappy lady who takes your info . now you cant get any outside spaces in advance meaning spaces to put a canopy outside in open air . your name is then put into a lotto like bucket to be drawned at 630 am . the problem is by 630 there where at 150 vendors trying to get in . they called out 50 and then told the other 100 vendors to come back for another drawing at 730 . so now I have been there 2 hours and still have no answer if I am getting in . I said f this I left and went somewhere else . also if you don't speak Spanish you got a REAL PROBLEM HERE . read more

Birds crammed up in cages and horses tied up to a roundabout for the entertainment of kids when literal tears can be seen pouring down the faces of the poor animals. I would give it less than 1star if I could. Do NOT buy any birds from here. My family bought me a Blue Fronted Amazon for my birthday for $1200. The guy sold us a sick bird. A week after we realized that he was so sick that we took him to the vet. Got treated for chlamydia (bird fever) which is transferable to humans. The bird also had hepatitis ( liver disease ). We did everything g to save him but he was too sick. Long story short he died today. Now I realize all the sick birds he has and someone else is gonna buy them and end up heartbroken like us. Please don't buy from this place. The prices are the same and the risks are too high. read more

I'm writing this review because when I was looking for information on this location I had limited info to go on and would like future vendors to know what's ahead. I was a vendor at Maclin Open Air Market on Sunday, May 19 trying to sell new children's shoes and I had quite an experience. As much work as we did (my husband and I) to prepare in advance, we felt that once there, we were blind. The bit of information that I had gathered from online and the pamphlet that outlined the dates of market (Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday), daily fees, etc., were not enough to help me understand the process. I was told that the process would be further explained the day of my first sale. Just so that you know in advance, you do not need to show proof of your vendor license for the first two times you sell here. My recommendation to future vendors is to be patient. There is potential for vendors when luck strikes and the location you get provides for a lot of foot traffic, but often there are not sufficient spots (specially for those that wait for the lottery drawing). Although Maclin Open Air Market is huge, attracts nice/honest vendors and has a large clientele, it definitely needs a better management system to support successful and happy vendors. The whole waiting for hours the day of market to get a spot is excruciating. I arrived at 5:45 in the morning and by 7:00 I had my name in two different lists (outdoor lottery and back covered spots). When the market opened at 8:00 I still did not have a guaranteed location. There is a drawing at 7AM and a 2nd at 8AM if you want to wait, but nothing prepares you for the crazy process. From what I understood, the spots out by the barn, off of Riverside Dr., are normally closed on Tuesday and Saturday, but management opens them up when there are a lot of vendors (normally on Sunday). On this particular day, those spots became available and we ended up scoring one here, but for the amount of time we spent waiting and the revenue we generated at the end of the day, all of us who got a spot here suffered. The location is hidden in the back and visitors miss it. I was told that although the enclosed spaces are rarely full, vendors stay away from them because it is always dead. Visitors don't walk by the alleys unless they know you are there in advance and look for you. In summary, I don't think I will be returning, as a vendor, any time soon. I now know how the system works, but I rather visit other open air markets. Good luck to you and remember to be patient. read more

Spent the morning here at the swap meet. Would have liked to come earlier because it got crowded fast. We bought everything from jeans, to converse to backpacks to fresh chicharrones. All for very decent prices. Big turn off for me were all the live animals that did not look healthy.overpacked, underfed and dirty. None of the live animals sold here are guaranteed. The bathrooms were disgusting and overflowed. It's good for a once in a while shopping trip but I'm not looking forward to coming back for a long time. read more

My husband has found used and rare tools at bargain prices several times, and there was a huge variety of succulents. Several vendors sell hand made clothes and shoes, and if there is a graphic shirt with Marilyn Monroe or an outline of California you have been wanting, then this is the place for you. WARNING!!!!!! If you care anything about cage birds, pigeons, game birds, or other types of birds. DO NOT BUY from this swap meet. I went in this last Sunday (1/21/2017) looking to buy some quail for my aviary. I have never seen so many sick and over crowded birds in my life, it was sickening and disgusting. I found a pair of Reeves pheasants shoved into a small cage together. The male's eyes were swollen shut and covered in pus and mucus, it was obviously sick. I asked for a price on the pair and a 12 (I'm guessing) year old girl said $300!! I told her the birds were sick and she said they were just cold..ugh...I went to take a pick with my cell phone and was promptly told NO PICTURES!! wonder why?? I also found some bobwhite quail, which I was looking for. All were puffed up and showing signs of sickness, puffing up, and I could stick my finger into the cage and basically knock them over they were so weak and the hen's backs were picked clean of any feathers, clear indication of ex-battery cage breeders . So out of curiosity and to add insult to injury, I asked the price....$35.00 a piece!!! Bobwhites go for $5.00-10.00 a piece perfectly healthy. Once again, they wouldn't let me take pics. I tried to BS them saying I was buying them for somebody else and they wanted to see pics, but no go. I have a feeling I'm not the only one that has tried this. I contacted the ASPCA in my area and they said they received complaints.......and said they would look into it, in other words, piss off. I am looking into other avenues on where to report this. I don't know a lot about parrots and those type of birds, but there were so many with missing feathers (completely bare skinned in some instances) and obviously mistreated. I cant believe the authorities have not done anything here. The people that run this place and the vendors that have set up there have absolutely no regard for the animals they are selling. I'm not your run of the mill tree-hugging hippy that thinks animals should come before people, but this place is just sickening and you leave here with a pit in your stomach that you cant shake because there isn't a whole bunch you can do. read more

Maclin market is great if you want some discounted items or you're just looking to have a good time to listen to music and enjoy the environment. The only downside is the cruelty and neglect of the animals being sold there. Luckily their birds are no longer being sold but all the reptiles and rodents that remain we're either in terrible conditions or riddled with parasites. Improper cage size, diet, companion housing, heating: It's all wrong. And the misinformation to customers about their care only serves to worsen the situation. Please if you own rodents or reptiles, do not buy from Maclin's open air market. You may think you're rescuing a sick animal but you'll only be contributing to it's unlawful pet trade; not to mention the parasites that you can spread to your own pets at home. My first time visiting and I had a good experience, I would definitely visit again! Especially if you want to pass the time on a Sunday. I appreciated the .50 cent entrance fee and free parking. I was fine with the crowd as well and got around ok but you do have to ask around to find out where things are located since there is no direction to the madness. I enjoyed looking at some of the more exotic pets and all the adorable bunnies they were selling. They had some neat stuff there. Bring some water if it's a hot day and comfortable shoes. For what ever reason I always leave feeling like I lost a few pounds from shrinking away in the hot sun LOL! I was hoping to give this place more stars but since I didn't walk out with any great deals and the vendors seemed to not want to budge on their prices I gave it the 3 stars. I was expecting better deals on their pet cages (after all some of them were the more flimsy kind and dirty), better prices on their parakeets, and other pet supplies than the bird marts/bird shows I have gone to but surprisingly pretty comparable and the birds were in better health at the bird shows/fairs. For example, a Medium sized bird cage everyone charged the same $10 fee within the place and no one wanted to go down in price which I would think as a seller you would want to be more competitive, at-least add some things to the cage to make you stand out from everyone else. I know that compared to regular stores (Petco/Petsmart/Target) this is a bargain but I'm not comparing it to that. I also had no idea of where the entrance was, my first time here, from where I came into the parking area(dirt area) which was a bit irritating but I had no issue asking someone and found it ok. It would be nice if they placed more temporary signs giving some idea of what direction to go for the newbies. I guess I was just expecting more deals on things and most everyone seemed to be sticklers on their prices which was disappointing especially since it was later on in the day before they were going to close and I would think that vendors would want to make a sale from their stuff than nothing at all. The entrance fee is cheap compared to other places plus free parking, we got there around eleven so we missed the mariachi, i don't know if they're there every Sunday. A friend told me about the tacos and the menudo so i went to try and they were really good. they have birds, clothes, toys, plants and a lot of other good stuff. My first time at this swap meet. Love the free parking and the $.50 cent entrance fee. There are a lot of vendors that sell birds. I purchased my 2 parakeets from a very knowledgeable seller. She helped me with everything. Teaching me about clipping the wings. I went a few vendors down, selling the same type of birds... their finches were very ugly looking. Uncared for, neglected.. One even had his eye socket bare. It's amazing what some of these vendors take to sell to the public. The cages suitable for both birds and rabbits are $10-$15. PetsMart's price: Starting price $89.99. Also, the bedding, food and alfalfa for the animals were cheap. Like 90% off of retail pet stores. I will definitely be going back. I just hope my husband doesn't divorce me for bringing home more birds. ;D read more

Me and my family love this Swap Meet we go pretty often this time we decided to order my Menudo and when we got it it had the whole foot and a whole bone inside and No hominy giant chunks of stomach lining. even cut up charged $11 took 20 minutes to get it then 10 more minutes to get a new one very disappointed in the snack far area read more

I decided to try out this place to see how it goes. It was my birthday and my girlfriend really wanted to surprise me with a present that was sold there and after we browsed around the area. I enjoyed the place, there were some things that could be improved. There were many people inside and there is a little bit of traffic in order to get a parking spot. Several people just cross the street which makes cars have to stop, the parking lot isn't too big, but is enough to have tons of cars while having a couple spots left. There are animals such as hamsters, birds, lizards, turtles, etc. Their prices are all around the same from all the sellers. It is crowded inside after you paying a 50 cent entrance fee as its reasonable. The pathways should be bigger so more people can walk by and not have to walk around and bump into others. There are many deals that are worth taking as my girlfriend surprised me with a hamster and its large cage with food at the price of $40 which is a lot for those three things I would say. It was my birthday and I really enjoyed being able to have fun looking around in the warm sunny day. This spot that sells birds had to remove all the birds for the reason that there was a virus going around that include those animals. The rest of the animals from other venders were in good healthy condition as I received two hamsters at the price of $8 each. You should take water when coming here because it tends to get hot and also a hat to keep the sun off your head. Its a really cool place to come and walk around with family and friends while shopping for items. Many item prices can be negotiable, all vendors are so nice and helpful when they attend all their customers. This outdoor swamp meet is worth going because there are many items that can't be found in other swap meets such as the indoor Pomona swap meet. If you don't bring your own water then there are tons of spots that sell fresh cold drinks such as an agua fresca, which I bought that was very delicious in my opinion. There is something for everyone in this place. I am taking one star for the birds not being treated correctly as they should be. One bird should be in one cage unless its multiple tiny birds in a cage that can fit them all and not having to worry about them not being able to moved around. The swap meet should include a cross walk so there won't be any accidents of many j-walking. The parking lot has sand floors, the area is a bit dirty and someone should be hired to not only clean the swap meet, but it's own parking lot which most costumers see when they arrive to the place. I recommend checking this place out as it's a fun and interesting place to be at with the people you love. The swap meet is some what organized as animal venders are towards the back of the place. When first walking in, you feel like you would easy be lost on where to head around, but after walking for 7 mins that's not the case. My girlfriend also enjoyed it and loved how it was easy to find and purchase one of my long wishing gifts. I was given a male and female hamster, soon to have babies in the future that would be so cute. read more

This place is a great and big swapmeet to visit. This is my families favorite swapmeet. The entrance is 50 cents per person. I think this is the only swapmeet that sells animals now.
