This is a small, but nice art gallery and much needed on this side of town. It's in a historic…read morelooking building with a grand set of stairs leading up to a front door... that sadly isn't in use. The entrance is to the side off the parking lot in a sleek modern addition. Fortunately, the stylistic mash up works better than, say Soldier Field. Anton Art Center looks old timey from the front, futuristic from the back, and maybe awkward from one of the two side views, but it's not terrible or anything. There's two galleries, on the first and second floor, with a little skylight in the middle of the upper gallery. A little gift shop with handmade wares from local artists is just up the first flight of stairs, adjacent to the lower gallery. I've seen a few exhibits here and they're often a mixed bag. They seem to like landscapes a lot. It's usually paintings, though I've seen photography, too, and there's often sculptures on risers in the middle of the galleries. I want to say once a year they have a student exhibition and it's fun to see what young minds and hands have put together. On my latest trip to Anton Art Center I only perused the upper gallery, as the lower gallery had work still sitting on the floor, waiting to be hung. I'm on their email list and I would have known this if I read it, but I was in the neighborhood and decided to pop in. At any rate, there was some really striking paintings of street scenes with pieces of stained glass collaged in that really piqued my interest. I'll have to go back and see them properly displayed. There's usually at least 3 or 4 pieces here that really catch my eye and make me really ponder and examine them, a bunch that are solid but nothing spectacular and a handful that I quietly groan at for being hoaky arts and crafts stuff old ladies might buy at art fairs. But, y'know, not everyone can be art snobs and stuff like that has a right to find it's way to it's intended audience. This is the capitol of Macomb County after all. I wouldn't go too far out of my way to pay a visit to AAC, but once every few months when I know there's new work to see, it's interesting to drop in if I'm in this neck of the woods when they're open. Oh, yeah, bring some change. You'll need to feed the meters in the garangtuan, usually sparsely filled city parking lot AAC sits on the edge of. There's a few nearby restaurants you can walk to when you're there if you're not afraid of a little exercise.

In such short time, I have become acquainted with Mount Clemens. I go to my internship in the…read morecity, and pass by all the lovely stores. There is a large jail, police stations, court, and a beautiful large library. If you pop in downtown, it reminds me of royal oak. There's sidewalk and cute small shops to stop in. I haven't had the chance to visit many of the shops, but I look forward to. They do have some construction going on towards that area, depending on where you are coming from. I might stop by near the spring, when it isn't so cold. My favorite thing about Mt Clemens is driving through some of the streets near the center. There are gorgeous homes that are absolutely stunning. I kove looking at different styles of homes and colors.

I remember when as a kid I learned about how Christopher Columbus sailed up the Clinton River to…read moreland near the Farmer's Market and enjoy cider -n- donuts, then he and his merry band of men walked up into town and enjoyed one of the many mineral baths that were proliferant in the day. I enjoyed the 3rd Annual Columbus Day Parade. I hadn't been to one of these in probably a year or so! It was nice to see the marching bands from the area schools and social clubs. Also nice to see local politicians shaking hands with the spectators. Mount Clemens continues to provide great venues for family-friendly activities throughout the year. They always decorate for the season, placing overhead banners announcing the various activities throughout the year. I look forward to the day after Thanksgiving when Santa Claus arrives during the parade.

We had Super Dave dj our corporate event. We have a diverse team and he executed flawlessly to all…read moreages and demographics keeping everyone engaged and interested through the night. He did a version of the evolution of dance that got everyone on their feet and participating. He read the crowd well and changes things up when needed, which was not often I must say. He emceed raffles, games, and activities in a way that kept the night fun and on track. I would recommend super Dave for your next event.

We were initially excited to get our daughter back into a Montessori setting. Upon enrollment the…read moreschool tried to overcharge us on the tuition rate. I'm not sure why they would do that. We saw the amount of the tuition multiple times. They asked us to wait as they printed us a new paper with multiple errors and wrote a higher tuition amount. We almost agreed to it because our daughter is sad at her current school. But we gave the thought some more time and consideration. We spoke to the staff and they said they would adjust their information by end of March/April to reflect the new amount. We gave them a few months to update their info because something felt slightly off. It looks like they selected us to be the family to get overcharged.

I have two daughters that attend Montessori since they were infants. The oldest is now 7. This…read moreschool is amazing and the teachers really care about all of them. Small class sizes and immersive learning styles teach them how to be engaged in what they are doing. We recently were able to sit in on a class for an hour and it's so cute seeing them all get to work on projects that they decide to do and having a snack when they want to. The are very independent while getting valuable lessons. The style in which they teach reading and math has my oldest daughter reading in a much higher level and even doing multiplication and division. They still teach cursive which I believe is a fundamental lesson that is being lost in other places. The children are so much more independent and really show care and compassion towards their fellow classmates.

Since it was FREE admission and no tickets required, I thought to check it out. This a nonprofit group of volunteers organized as a symphony orchestra that performs at various locations as posted on their socials (#TMSO), playing public domaine classical pieces. The director is humorous and excellent curator of the whole experience. QUALITY: WOW. Full. Stop. AMAZING, INTIMATE PERFORMANCE. VALUE: No charge. Donations welcomed.
