Adan and his team exceeded all our expectations on an extremely complex job. In a time when contractors are in such demand and availability is so limited, we were stunned when the day after we gave Adan the ok, he showed up at 8AM with a crew of seven men, all seemingly experts in all things building. Our project required an existing garage to be lifted two feet in the air, demolition of the existing slab, and then pouring of a new foundation and slab. Our requirements were excessive (24 inch reinforced foundation and an ultimate structural "lift" of 12 inches... Adan and his crew made it look easy. Adan's initial estimate was dead-on, and when we asked him to make some additional modifications, he adjusted the bid very quickly and completed the job at the quoted cost. I contracted Adan at Marco Design build a very complex and difficult retaining wall in my backyard. The project was complicated by the fact that the existing wood retaining wall had to be removed and there was an existing structure sitting above the old wall. Adan gave me a great price for the work and did an incredible job. Although, he ran into many hidden problems, he executed the work beautifully and the finished wall is perfect. I had them pour a concrete slab with rebar in an unfinished section of my basement-- I never would have thought I would use the word "beautiful" describe concrete but my new slab is really quite beautiful and beautifully done. They gave me the best quote out of several others, they were fast, always responded quickly no matter when and they cleaned up so well afterwards, it actually looks better/cleaner than before they were there! Edwin and Adan organized a wonderful and hardworking team who delivered a wonderful job a week ahead of schedule with a very reasonable price. They were super responsive and usually replied our requests within a day or two. We had a big project, over 1,500 square ft of concrete work, 4 drainages, 90 ft long of fencing and an artificial turf. The crew was here on the job every day from 8:-8:30am until 4:30pm. Initial estimate was 3 weeks but they finished in two weeks! Haven't seen any construction team who could finish a job ahead of schedule. Also they honored the cost estimate on the contract with no added cost in between. The team also did a thorough clean up after finishing. Our front yard now looks nice and clean. Adan and his team have helped us out a ton since moving into our home a couple years ago. He has done quite a few projects on our street and I got his referral from a neighbor. These guys have covered a lot of ground including installing steps inside of our house, building beautiful wooden gates to help us secure our property, and installing a retaining wall behind our house to help prevent erosion from happening. After a job is done, Adan will stop by periodically to check on the work and answer any questions we may have. His company depends heavily on word of mouth for finding more work so they're always motivated to do a great job. Also, the bids that Adan gave us for each project consistently came in under the estimates of the other contractors that we were considering. Per the request from Mr. Adan Choc, the owner of Macro Design & Building Services, I am giving his company the fair review as follow: I have hired Macro Design & Building Services for the following 3 projects: 1. Built a 42' X 3 1/2' X 8" retaining wall with a 42' X 36" X 18" foundation plus 3 12" X 2' round piers. On top of the retaining wall, built a 42' X 5 1/2' redwood fence. Warranty time: 7 years. To reinforce the strength of the retaining wall and foundation 3,000lb concrete and #4, #5 rebars were used. After the completion of the construction, 42' X 5' insulation sheet was installed on to the retaining wall and foundation to protect the construction. On the top of the insulation sheet, 3 inches of gravels and 42' X 6" French pipes was installed for the drainage. Starting date: 2/10/2024 completion date: 2/23/2024 Satisfaction: A+ Reasoning: Perfect job. 2. Built a 32' X 2 1/2' X 8" retaining wall with a 32' X 32" X 18" foundation plus 3 12" X 2' round piers. On top of the retaining wall, built a 32' X 5 1/2' redwood fence. Warranty time: 7 years. To reinforce the strength of the retaining wall and foundation 3,000lb concrete and #4, #5 rebars were used. After the completion of the construction, 32' X 4' insulation sheet was installed on to the retaining wall and foundation to protect the construction. On the top of the insulation sheet, 3 inches of gravels and 32' X 6" French pipes was installed for the drainage. Starting date: 3/17/2024 completion date: 4/2/2024 Satisfaction: A Reasoning: 1) The depth of the foundation was only 1' deep, 6" shorter of the standard 18" depth. 2) Due to the heavy rain, one of the piers was filled with sand and the screw dug it back to only 16" deep, 8" shorter of the 24" deep hole as it should be. 3. Paved a 23' X 20' stamped concrete patio Plus two 11' X 9' and 11' X 7' stamped concrete in 2 entry areas. Warranty time: 7 years. 2 inches of gravel was paved as the bottom foundation of the patio. On top of the gravel, #3 rebars were laid every 12" X 12". 3,000lb concrete was used for the construction of the patio. Starting date: 2/23/2024 completion date: 2/28/2024 Satisfaction: A Reasoning: Due to the nature of the concrete, there is an about 4' long hairline curved crack. Per the suggestion from Adan since the crack line is very fine at this moment, nothing needs to be done, he will come back to repair it when the crack line widens. Overall review: 1. The work team: All the members of the team were working very hard and efficiently every day starting from 7:45am until 4:30pm. Starting from the demolition to the cleaning up they did a great job. Satisfaction: A+ Reasoning: Working hard, working efficiently and they have a great working attitude. 2. The company owner: Mr. Adan Choc is an honest business man. He delivered quality products did not cut the quality of material short and completes all the projects on time. Satisfaction: A Reasoning: Mr. Choc could do better if he could keep the depth of the foundation to 18" deep in the 2nd projects. 3. The protection of homeowner's property: 1) The members of the team kept the work site clean and no smoking on the job. 2) Some of the members were not careful enough, they made some damages to the property. If I am not able to fix them it will cost me about $400 to replace them. 3) The cement truck left some concrete traces on my side yard. This colored stain is now very solid and is impossible to remove them. Satisfaction: C Reasoning: As stated above this company have some room for improvement. 4. Conclusion: After all the above observation and judgments, I am giving the company an A satisfaction grade. read more

TLDR: they're cheap but so unreliable that you might never get the job done to pay them and they don't seem to care any that. Completely unreliable. They didn't show up multiple times for the consult, but when they did the price was right. This should have been my first sign. It was a completely confusing process to get this set up. Then when we did agree date and time to start they moved it. No problem we're flexible. Then the guys showed up they waited outside the house. My husband went outside twice to have them come in but they indicated they were waiting for someone. Then they just left!! When I called the one person I had info for they said "we didn't open the door"??? I'm not even sure what this means. Why did no one call me? Anyway now the guys are at another job and they definitely won't be coming back to our house. Complete waste of time. read more

Adan C. was the first person to respond to our request for backyard remodeling. He and his team replaced 50' of cinder block retaining wall with pressure treated lumber. More importantly, the team installed amazing drainage with plastic pipe and gravel, which was not present before. On top of that they constructed a 6' redwood fence and three panels of clear plexiglass to allow for a view. They also did extra work to make things 'correct', like replacing the stairway on our deck, pouring a new concrete patio, and step from our deck. The reason why I only gave 2 stars is because the stars are based upon the business and integrity of this Co. my appraiser Cruz was very professional an attentive to my needs of a wrought Iron fence and brick pillars however his measurements were 30'18 feet .and also a small wrought iron gate ranged his prices were between 12k to 15 k dollar's highest inflated estimate of 3 (WOW) !!! I do not mind paying for what I ask of but NOT being taking advantage of at the same time... I later Thanked MR. Cruz for his time later the Owner a day or so contacted me and stated "Oh look at your New estimate now 9k "! Look this is not the Price is right !!!!
