(I was not told during the two phone calls I could have done the questionnaire online). Follow me on this. One of the set times to see the doctor is 2pm - 5pm. I was there at 3:30pm. I was told I was 2 minutes LATE, that's right, 2 minutes late to go in to see the doctor as a new patient. I explained to the uncaring receptionist that the sign said 2pm-5pm and it was only 3:30pm. She really said this, "we already have 5 new patients with the doctor". I guess I was suppose to care about that. I had read some bad stuff about the staff. Since the doctor has a very high rating, I can only assume he does realize the way to treat the staff treats the patients. It couldn't have anything to do with fact that both visits I was the only male patient. but I was really not a patient because I was 2 minutes late. the staff was the most unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. Shane sat down with us to talk about not just fitness but also our overall health goals. That's a nice approach I haven't seen other places, I like that they coach clients on activity levels and also nutrition education and mindset. The training session itself was FUN and encouraging. For a ~45 minute workout he made sure to match our pace and wow did I feel it the next day! I appreciate him getting to know me first then meeting my specific needs in session. While we were working out there was a class going on with about ten people. I saw all different ages and fitness levels and I appreciate they have a kids area so I can bring my 5 year old to hang out if I want to get a class in :) We ended up going for our second intro session and after a positive experience we're going to convert to a monthly plan. Between the positive environment, feeling of community, and the ability to have a team coach us to overall health goals we set together I feel like there is a ton of value in this system that I wasn't getting at my local big box gym. This is a change in lifestyle for me and that's not going to 'stick' without encouragement and support. If some members have the privilege of treating the place as their private pool, then why should I pay the same price since I am treated like a second class citizen?
