This was to access if surgery were to be needed. I went to the receptionist and she said the earliest would be the last week of December! Since the majority of people who come here are to have cosmetic work done, why could not they have had one person put off 1.5 hrs in the appointment book for a real medical reason??? Fortunately I have been able to get Vascular Surgeon to work me thru another doctor I know. I am giving 5 stars on my overall experience with the office staff, doctors, pricing, and results. At this practice, I went to see Dr. Geoffrey Durham-Smith for a breast reduction (non-cancer/illness related). I was referred by a friend who had a surgery done by him in the past and was satisfied with the results. I went for a consult (sometimes these are "free" meaning they may be covered by your insurance plan, CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE FIRST). At the consult, they will take your general information (height, weigh, blah blah) and it may include taking pictures of your breasts if that is what your surgery is for (it's weird, but just a heads up). Then the doctor will come in and briefly speak with you, ask you a few questions, and give you more information. If you want them to, they will submit a request for medical review/prior authorization to your insurance company to see, if you decide to have the surgery, if it is a covered benefit. Once they receive a response from your insurance company, they will get in touch with you. After the initial anger of my insurance company refusing to even review it for medical necessity (because it was NOT cancer related), I was able to talk with them about the self pay option. When it comes to self pay, they can give a pretty accurate quote (including the doctors fee, anesthesia, operating room, and hospital fees). Make sure to ask what fees may come up NOT included in the quote. I had a few fees come up that they did not say, which led to some anger and heated discussions with them, but everything was sorted out. The office staff was, 99% of the time, helpful and patient with all my questions and paperwork requests (needing receipts, FMLA paperwork for me and a caregiver, disability paperwork for work). The other 1% was after I received an unexpected bill and someone who didn't do the billing/cost information tried to help me and did not have all the information when I was already mad (if you already paid everything for you were quoted and you get another bill when you have already paid everything out of pocket, you would be mad too). Dr. Durham-Smith is a very professional and to the point doctor, he did not chit-chat and shoot the breeze. His bedside manner was all business, which when surgery and pain scare you and make you feel like a child, may not be the best, but the nurses at the office and at the hospital, help with that. I am very happy with my results from this surgery and experience with this office/doctor. If there are any women who are even THINKING about getting breast reduction, I greatly encourage you to at least get a consult, and I would recommend this office. Just make sure you are asking questions of your insurance company and to the office itself when it comes to money and coverage.

She still did not want to believe me. The front desk blonde lady is pretty rude. One day I checked in about 3 min early, my mom was waiting in the car due to the fact that the appt normally takes me about 5 min. Well of course on this day someone brought their baby in and the entire front desk staff went back and forgot about me for about 10 min. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Not.... They did not even apologize. The ladies who actually perform the laser work are really nice, but their front desk person should take some classes on how to treat clients. In…read more2019, LL cancelled at least three of my appointments due to equipment failure and staff shortages. I usually skip summer months because tanned skinned cannot be lasered. When I finally got to another appointment in late 2019, they made me pay a new membership fee since there had been a lapse in my visits. Said that it was mandated by the state. They took no ownership of the cancellations that they had made. I paid $1800 and had one appointment. Then came Covid, I called and asked about my February 2020 appointment and they were really rude. All I did was ask what the plan was. They shamed me for even calling and asking about it. They said "no one else is calling" and that they would let me know when appointments resumed. So, I never called back waiting on them while my February, March and April appointments went by. Most offices opened back up for business and I still never heard from them. In July, I drove to their building and found a closed sign on the door. Later, I found out that they decided to shut down and took everyone's paid fees with them. They made no calls, no apologies, just took everyone's money and left.

This feels misleading and unfair to customers who receive gift certificates in good faith. Based on this experience, I would not recommend purchasing or gifting certificates from CaloSpa unless all expiration terms are clearly disclosed in writing.

I am stuck looking like this because I went in for under eye filler Jan 3rd, he (Dr Sean McGuire) decided I needed it in my cheek not under my eye. I asked to be seen after extreme pain and no filer under my eye and large pockets in my cheek, they saw me on the 14th and he said as long as you can't see the pain it doesn't matter, I asked if the filler had gone into my cheek by mistake because I do not see it under my eye only in my cheek, he stated "No not by mistake, I put it in your cheek", I said "I wanted it under my eye, not in my cheek at all." He laughed and stated "I've been doing this 18 years I think I know where you need filler." I stayed silent, completely baffled." He offered to put the filler in the place I asked for it initially, I said yes absolutely that would be great, he drew it with a pencil where I wanted it and I agreed. After injecting it I looked in the mirror and saw my cheek was even larger. I didn't know what to do or say and just left and contacted the manager. She stated she did not want me to be unhappy and would like to see me back I said I am literally moving out of state next week and can not come in, and I said quite frankly if I could come in I would not, the doctor was extremely aggressive and rude and would not want him to touch me again. She said to continue sending photos and after day 14 of it does not look better there will be a refund or partial refund or some kind of resolution. Still unhappy with her answer I said okay and kept sending photos, day 14 I sent this photo, both the nurse and the office manager responded, saying it looked great. On day 20 I reached out as I had not heard anything back from them as far as a resolution goes, only how great it looked. I sent this email where I had no response. "Hello, it is now day 20 since I have had my follow up visit where the filler was placed in my cheeks again. My last email I had requested a refund, again and that has not been replied to. I am sending this email to request a refund for the filler that was placed in my cheek Jan 3rd. I was told there would be a resolution on day 14 and it is now day 20. I feel like I'm getting the runaround at this point. I would like a direct answer on this matter. Thank you." On day 25 I called and the office manager stated that I would not be given a refund or any resolution and that they think it looks great and are very satisfied with how it turned out. She said she spoke with the doctor and he would not agree to any resolution. So all this to say, if this is how you want to look, go to Center for Beauty and see Sean McGuire.
