Glass guy came out to measure and give me an estimate 3 weeks ago. At that time, I agreed to his quote and inquired how much he needed to get started. He informed me paying anything up front wasn't necessary and my window would be ready for installation in about 2 weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. Several calls later and my order still wasn't ready. A week ago, I foolishly went down there and paid 1/2 of my order total believing payment might motivate this company to do the job. My payment was accepted. In return, I received a receipt written in pencil on lined collegiate paper (red flag). Since then, every time I call the woman that answers their phone tells me she'll have to look up my order and "get back to me" but no one ever does. This place is a joke. Steer clear. read more

My parents two new shower doors were malfunctioning. The master bathroom shower door will not close tightly. Pano & Jessie adjusted them perfectly. The guest bathroom shower door will not open. Called on a Friday to inquire about shower parts, I was told to come down on Monday and I will get sorted out with all the parts I needed. I come Monday and I talk to this disheveled warehouse worker who tells me he doesn't have the part I need, and the only part he did have was a simple U channel to which I requested 7 ft. I asked how much for the part and he gives me a nice round $20 dollars, I told him the part is only $8.24 at home depot, to which he replied "get it at home depot then". Sorry but I will never give this company my business and you shouldn't either, go with one that has some decent office staff to help customers and not a warehouse worker who could barely have a coherent exchange of words. read more

Well I'm glad that the guy from the other place never showed up! Called Macs to get a patio slider fixed. Jose showed up right on time. As I expected the door just needed new wheels. He also took a look at the awful screen slider which was pretty much shot and beyond repair. Jose built a new screen door with a white frame to match all the other screens. Everything was perfect! I recently ordered glass shelves for the new cabinets in my kitchen. Jasmine, the receptionist was incredibly helpful and professional while helping me with the process. The shelves were ready quicker than expected, but when I went to pick them up, the edges had not been polished, which was a manufacturing error. Jasmine apologized profusely but of course it was not her fault! She was great help in getting the shelves back to me in just two business days! Never again will i go there. Don't support this place. First time I went there I had to leave a part from my window. The building was built in 1923, every time i went by to see if they ordered the part the girl was so busy. She lost my part. 1 year later I went there to see if they had my part and a new employee and I didn't want to drive to long beach where I live. New employee hoping maybe this will work. We found my part but I had to leave it so she could order the new one. That was monday. I said will you call me tomorrow and let me know if you ordered it. Because I really need this by Friday. The window won't stay in. She said yes or the owner will. I called Tuesday no pickup on the phone left a message. Called Thursday no pick on the phone. Here is it Friday. Nothing. Will never do business here again. Called for an estimate for a large picture window, said they would come by on Monday at 2 o'clock. Called on Monday to say they wouldn't make it, how about Tuesday between 2 - 4. My husband waited for two hours, I called them at 4 o'clock to ask where they were. The man said he wouldn't make it, he was in L.A.. I said I would have appreciated a phone call, we have more things to do than wait around for nothing. If small businesses want to stay in business, maybe they should learn some customer service. read more

Had double pane glass put into our house 3 years ago and noticed this month it was not sealed properly. Went to the office with the bill and got a run around for 3 weeks and finally sent a worker out there to check. Refused to replace without us paying $250.00 more. Have done business with this company and the original owners for over 30 years and they were fabulous and helpful. New guys not so much. I went to get a piece of glass 3" x 5 3/4" x 3/8". The guy at the shop told me he had a $25.00 minimum. This is after they sold me a piece of glass 5 1/2" x 18" 3 days earlier for $10.00. The guy was so unprofessional and full of himself. I am a General Contractor and do tens of thousands of dollars of business with my regular glass company each year. These guys were closer and I thought I could save some time by getting it from them. My mistake. Last time I will ever attempt doing business with Mac's Glass. This is a poorly run business. Brought in information for a job and was told that someone would call me back. No one called. When I called them they said there was a delay in obtaining the quote and they would call me the next day. They did not call. On the 3rd day, when I called them they gave me the quote. it was high. I went there at 3:30pm to prepay the order and there was a note on the door that said "Back at 3:15pm." There was no one there. I went by the next day in the morning about 9:30am and again no one was there. I gave up on Mac's Glass and found San Pedro Glass on Basin St. Their quote was 35% less and they acted like they wanted my business. Mac's Glass? Never again. read more

I was told from a locksmith that my sliding door lock was obsolete and needed to purchase a new door for about $2500. Mac's glass Jose repaired the door when everyone else said it could not be done. I have to say how terrible disappointed I am in Mac's glass. I have used them for years and the service has been great. I called them out to measure for my current project and the gentlemen canceled the day of the appointment. Ok. I understand. He left me a number to call him and reschedule. I left multiple messages over a weeks time and no response. I called Mac's office directly and they sent another estimator out a few days later. He came, measured, everything was good except that after three weeks, still no glass. I've called in the last week on three separate occasions to followup on my order. Each time I was told someone will get back to me. I'm still waiting. I really sad that the service has fallen apart. read more

I am seriously disappointed with the service, if you could call it that, from Mac's glass. I am a previous customer and I called to get an estimate on a broken window. I first called on a Sunday and got a recording to leave a message for several different people I didn't know. I next called about 30 minutes after they opened on Tuesday, and gave my info to the receptionist and was told someone would call shortly. After 2 1/2 hours, I called back and spoke to the same receptionist . I then was told again that they would call shortly. No call came at all. It is obvious that Mac's glass does NOT want my business. I will never again call them for anything as there are several other companies that want my business. Needed to replace a couple of large double pane windows and decided to support a local business near my condo. Called Mac's and received friendly service with an explanation of how the whole scheduling, measuring and estimation process works. Tech showed on-time for his scheduled appointment to measure -- Received a written estimate within a couple of days. The true test of a good company is how they handle mistakes. Mac's stepped up to the plate and had installers accommodate my request to have my windows installed a day before their system showed me for my appointment. I had the wrong day in my calendar (regardless of whose fault that was) Mac's showed what they're made of and made the situation right. The installers did a great job -- very happy with my crystal clear windows.
