This was my first time stopping at the Jackson location, and it definitely won't be my last. My parents have been divorced for more than 30 years, but if there's one thing they still agree on, it's Dexter Bar-B-Que. I was driving in from St. Louis to visit family, and both of them put in requests--my mom wanted ribs to take home, and my dad asked me to bring dinner when I met him in Scott City. After spending over two hours in the car, my dogs were more than ready for a break. I called ahead and asked if it would be okay to stop in and grab them some soft-serve ice cream before picking up my order, and the employee was so kind and said it wouldn't be a problem. The pups thought it was the best part of the trip! When I went back inside for my food and a cone for myself, I had my hands completely full. One of the employees noticed right away and offered to carry everything out to my car. That extra help was a lifesaver because one of my dogs is a total food fanatic and was already hanging out of the sunroof with his nose in the air, convinced the barbecue was for him! As always, the food was outstanding. The ribs were just as good as I remembered, the slaw is still one of my favorites, and the friendly service made the visit even better. It's always nice to find a place that serves great food and treats customers like family.
