A must stop when shopping for a wedding dress! Ask for Anna! I must tell you that I shopped at quite a few places when shopping for my wedding dress, as you should until you find "the one". The service from Anna was the best. She has plenty of experience and lots of patience. She was not pushy at all, just the opposite. Anna even helped with suggesting some alterations for my dress to the seamstress. From start to finish she looked out for me the entire process. The seamstress's work was great. She made straps for my dress that matched perfectly. I was super comfortable in my dress and my mom even bought the "mother of the bride dress" here as well. I had made an appointment here to look at bridal gowns even after hearing mixed reviews and boy do I regret it. First off, there is no proper signage directing you where to go in the store for the Bridal Salon. Second, once I did find it I was disappointed by the limited number of dresses they had. IMO they were all pretty horrible. The salon dressing rooms were absolutely atrocious. Old, dirty carpets and chairs and fitting room doors that didn't shut. I won't name my associate who "helped" me but she was honestly useless and I am not quite sure she realized just how rude she was. Telling a bride who is looking for a gown that "You're going to need to order two sizes up from what you think you are or you could just lose 20 pounds" is just asking for a foot up your you know where. I know bridal gowns run small and some designers smaller than others but to say it in the tone she did, she's lucky my father wasn't there. She didn't help me in and out of any single gown. I fell trying to get into one right against the flimsy dressing room wall, horrific. I also gave her a price range and she brought dresses COMPLETELY OUT OF THE RANGE mind you that were HIDEOUS and felt completely cheap. To top all of it off, it was hotter than hell in the salon. I DO NOT recommend going here for anything bridal related... unless you enjoy terrible customer service, hot, stuffy and dirty places. Your money would be better spent going to McDonlad's and making your gown out of paper napkins than going here, customer service would likely be better as well. read more

AVOID for bridesmaids dresses. Absolute disaster. When I am told I will pay a rush fee to receive the dress mid-end of May everything else will get planned around that. It is 3 weeks before the wedding, the dresses just came, my weekend are full of vacations and what do you know....The rush fee now apparently is to guarantee it would come "1 month" before the wedding not on the date they told me. Thank you for not knowing 4 weeks makes up 1 month, thank you for making my cancel a vacation to get the dress altered.. Oh yeah and THANKS for a one day turn around on hemming AT YOUR STORE. As if I would give you any more of my money. I would rather put my money in a blender and drink it. read more

This is a hard review to write. Everyone who provided customer service was kind, but the system they used for scheduling alterations is horribly disorganized. The delays caused by their lack of communication made the process of getting a dress very stressful. If I didn't have a flexible schedule this summer in which I could come in for fittings whenever, I would not have gotten my dress in time for my wedding. To start, I found the dress that I wanted on TheKnot and the only place that had it was this bridal salon. So, I came in, got fitted, and paid for the dress. Everything was fine at that visit. Many months later, the next visit was ok, too. I got my dress and the seamstress pinned it in areas where it needed to be taken in. I then went to the front desk and scheduled the second (and I thought, last) fitting for two weeks later at 11am on a Monday (the only fitting days are Mondays and Fridays). The following week, I get a call asking that I change that 11am appointment to 5pm. That wasn't a problem with me, so I agreed. When I show up to that appointment, I was told that because I had rescheduled, my name was taken off the seamstress' schedule, even though they had requested this rescheduling! Then, because my name was removed from the seamstress' schedule, she had apparently stopped working on my dress when she saw that I was not going to be coming in. This point is still asinine to me, because the salon still knew how closing the wedding date was. I wasn't even allowed to try on the dress to show my bridesmaid who had missed an earlier fitting because there was a danger that I could move a pin. The front desk apologized profusely and rescheduled me for two days later. Two days later, the fitting was to fine-tune the earlier adjustments and create the bustle. The seamstress also said that she would put boning in and press the dress and that I could take it home at the next fitting. I understood why I couldn't take the dress home yet, but was stressed. We were a week and a half out from the wedding. I make this last fitting appointment for 11 on Wednesday, at the front desk's request, three days before the wedding. At the next fitting, I noticed that there are still loose strings coming off my dress. When I asked about it, the seamstress says that the dress still needs to be "cleaned up" and pressed. Also, she says that she doesn't press dresses -- there is another woman who does that and she wasn't scheduled to come in for another four hours. I couldn't stay that long and they (the seamstress and the front desk) had previously told me that the dress would be ready! It had been a week since my last appointment, and yet they had not "cleaned up" or pressed the dress in that time. They told me that I could pick up the dress on Friday, but that required me to reschedule other appointments. It was very inconvenient and highly stressful. I couldn't believe that the dress wasn't ready three days before the wedding date and that this was the second appointment for which they had failed to honor their commitment with me. I paid $500 to come in twice for work that was unfinished . In the end, I came that following day (the day before the wedding) and picked up the gown. There were still a few loose strings that I snipped off myself. The dress was just as beautiful as I'd hoped it would be, but the journey to that point was needlessly stressful and disorganized. read more

I want to start by saying that I was IN LOVE with my dress (from the Demetrios line) which I found at this bridal salon. However, the service at this salon would make a nervous bride more nervous. Everything about the process was slow. Just to get a receipt for what we agreed to took 2-3 months from corporate. When the dress came in, and we went to pay, the person helping us could not access the notes in the system regarding our purchase without her manager (who was not in the store that day). We were left hoping they would not charge us more after we put down our final payment on the dress. They did not, but this was an unnecessary concern. The next time we came in for a fitting, they had not worked on the dress due to miscommunication and we waited for two hours as they partially altered it (I came in from out-of-town and had to do the fitting on this day). Finally, the scheduling was difficult being that I was from out-of-town and the seamstress canceled on us a couple times. I found myself having to be very flexible. With all that said, the people who work there are friendly and willing to negotiate. If you live in the area and are okay with things not always running smoothly, you might find it worth it to buy a dress here. I did love the way the dress fit me and how helpful the seamstress was. read more

I picked my bridesmaids dresses from Macy's in Lake Grove. Gail was so helpful in picking out dresses for 9 girls, most of whom do not live locally, and never once was I pressured to buy anything. Once a dress was picked, she reached out to me shortly after to inform me they were having a bridesmaid dress flash sale of an extra 15% off and as long as one bridesmaid got their order in that weekend, she could apply it to everyone - I was so grateful she reached out to us! She confirmed everyone's shipping address with me when the dresses arrived and provided me with all tracking numbers. One thing to note, it's an extra $25 per dress if you are having Macy's ship it; some of my girls opted to pick it up when they were in town for my bridal shower. No one had any issues receiving their dresses and only minor/expected alterations were needed. read more

I found my dream dress here and Ana was amazing to work with. After going to numerous bridal salons where I was overwhelmed, Ana helped me narrow down my style and then was very patient as I chose between dresses. The manager was amazing to work with as well. My mom sat in a comfy chair as I tried on dresses and we had a wonderful time. The seamstress was very professional and easy to work with. The only downside in that I did not give five stars was that I was told my dress would be ready on a specific date and it was not, so I had to drive there and then return on a different date to pick up the dress. The situation was rectified and they were very nice and professional about it. Other than that, it was an amazing experience. The selection of dresses here are very unique and eloquent. I would highly recommend this bridal salon! read more

What a wonderful experience going to Macy's Bridal shop. What set the experience above all the other bridal shops was Anna Mastandrea! Her knowledge of the various styles within her shop was phenomenal. Her advice and suggestions lead to a purchase by my niece. Not only did she purchase her gown, but due in large to Anna's professional acumen, my niece brought her bridal party there for their dress purchases as well. Anna is a pearl and Demetrius is lucky to have her represent their company. read more

Avoid for alterations. Seamstress was unable to alter my wedding dress. Hem was uneven, bustle was a disaster. This was a fairly simple bridal gown, and no major alterations were needed. At the last appointment, the seamstress was insisting it was even- when it clearly wasn't. For example, when it was bustled you could see all the under layers of the dress (including gold- tuling etc). It looked horrible. One of the bridal attendants and bystanders chummed in and agreed the dress didn't look right and the seamstress threw her hands up and left the appointment never to be seen again. I should've taken the dress right there but weddings are expensive and I had already paid for alterations and it was now one month before my wedding. I finished the appointment with the manager pinning what she thought needed to be fixed. Needless to say when I came back it was still a disaster. I called up alterations by Gina and took my wedding dress there one week before my wedding and they all agreed, it was a disaster. I literally had three seamstresses pinning and examining the dress. I picked it up one week later and it looked beautiful. read more

I have finally cooled down enough to write a review for Macy's Bridal Salon (Demetrios) in the Smithhaven Mall. If you are planning on buying your dress there- I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The experience was a stressful nightmare. I purchased my dress there about a year before my wedding on 4/30/16, and I never saw my bridal attendant again. In fact, I worked with about 6 different attendants in that time- I don't know what happened to the rest of them, but apparently they seem to come and go. This wouldn't have been a big problem, except for that fact that none of these attendants had any idea what was going on, and lacked any experience with wedding dresses. There is a serious lack of communication in the shop, and they failed to keep notes on my fittings, alteration schedule, orders, etc. Moving on my my veil drama: I ordered a veil that was longer than a typical veil, but not as long as a cathedral veil. After months of not hearing from them, I called to ask when it would be in because I was getting concerned. They told me it had been in for months, but wasn't noted anywhere, so no one knew it was in. The manager "found it in her office". When I went to pick it up, it was very obviously the wrong veil; It was short, and not at all like the veil I had remembered (even though the attendant kept telling me it WAS the veil I ordered). After comparing numbers, she realized that it- in fact- was the wrong veil. Unfortunately it was going to take months to reorder, so I was unable to have any fittings with my veil on (not even my final fitting). I ended up borrowing another veil for my hair trial, and liking the new one better since I knew how it would sit with my hair. They refused to price match this veil (a $50 difference), and both veils came in only days before my wedding. Bridesmaid dresses- the worst part of my horrid experience in Macy's. Do your bridesmaids an enormous favor and go elsewhere. Since it was difficult to get all of my bridesmaids to go dress shopping together, I went with a few, tried some on, and picked out a petal pink chiffon Bill Levkoff dress. New bridal attendant 5 at this point noted the style number, and told me my girls could come at their leisure to get fitted and purchase the dresses. Easy enough. The dresses came in about a month before my wedding, and there was an "issue" with one dress. They would not tell me what the issue was, except that they had to send the dress back to the manufacturer, and it was going to come in 3 days before the wedding. I was concerned about alterations at that point, because it was basically forcing my bridesmaid to have her alterations done at their shop for an insane price (most of my bridesmaids needed alterations and went elsewhere due to the price). They assured me whatever she needed would be done on time, and they would waive the fee, or at the very least greatly discount her alterations. She needed her dress taken in and a hem, and her charge was $270. WITH their whopping 10% discount. At this point, two days before my wedding, I am on the phone trying to talk to a manager to get my bridesmaid some money back for THEIR mistake and discuss her outrageous charges. Of course, no one is available, and no one will call me back. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. My girls are all getting ready, and only 5 out of 6 bridesmaid dresses match. Yes...one of my girls is wearing a completely different dress. She went to the salon to order her dress, an attendant looked up my dress number, and somehow ordered her the wrong dress. It was the same color thank god, but the dress was the WRONG dress! I didn't think I had to visit each bridesmaid before the wedding to make sure the attendant ordered each dress correctly. So, the day of my wedding when nothing could be done, one of my girls was wearing a different dress. And everyone thought she was the maid of honor, because sometimes the maid of honor is dressed in something else. It took away from my sister, the real maid of honor, on my big day. The Demetrios Salon at Macy's Smithhaven is not going to be a hassle free experience. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. It will save you a lot of stress and drama during your wedding planning! read more

Do NOT EVER Do business with them. They are awful. Dresses came in late and mine was not altered as agreed upon. They refused to give me a refund and when they decide to give me some money back it was in Macys Money that expired after a week which they claimed to not know. read more
