After ordering some items online that were too small I dropped in to return or exchange. The store is very clean and well organized, but employees are few and far from able to find. Once I did, the employee who helped me wasn't that friendly and we needed to call the Manager because she said she wasn't able to do what I needed. Macy's is a very clean outlay, very spread out and brightly lit. The men's section is downstairs but there is no staff coverage in this area. I didn't find what I was looking for and no one approached me to ask for assistance. The upper level has plenty of evening wear for women and the cologne/perfume section was sparsely occupied, fully understanding that I arrived a few minutes after the store opened. read more

I've been to this location several times. On this particular visit, I was interested in the sale on diamond earrings. There seemed to be only one associate in the area. I wasn't really acknowledged. The male associate was dealing with a customer they may have assumed would be spending more money though I waited about ten minutes. I ended up leaving and making the purchase at a different location. read more

I visited Macy's on 4/24/25 around 5:30 PM, and I have to give major kudos to the lady working the customer service desk. She was absolutely amazing--professional, kind, and made the whole process smooth and pleasant. Great customer service like that deserves recognition. Was shopping for my wife's birthday and found a coat that she liked. Was in the store for over an hour shopping. Finally picked out the coat and went to pay for it and could not find any associates to help us. I found a vendor who pointed out 2 associates in the shoe dept standing behind the counter. We walked up to ask for help but was ignored. 2 other customers walked up behind us and was waiting as well. They were ignored as well. (I assume it was because we were white by the way we were looked at by the sales associates) I spoke up and asked where we could pay for the items and they both looked at me and just walked away to the back room. We walked around finally found several others gathered in a group. I waited till one of them felt uncomfortable enough to ask me what I needed. I requested to speak a manager on several occasions during the conversation until one of the associates decided to help me. She would not get the manager but at least she rang up my purchase. When we got home, we discovered that she did not remove the security tag on the jacket. I refuse to go back and deal with that kind of BS just to have a tag removed. I applied and was approved for a Macy's credit card to purchase an area rug. The card offer would have taken an additional $100 off the sale price of the rug so I thought I'd take advantage of the discount. For some reason, my order was canceled by Macy's. When I called, no one could tell me the reason for the cancellation and the rug was no longer on sale. The best price they could offer was $900 more than the sale price. Unfortunately, has really gone downhill in terms of service. We don't go to Southpark all that often, but my wife had a special request. She's going to kill me for putting this into print but several of her foundational garments due to wear and repeated laundering had become stretched and no longer gave her the support she needed. Like we have done many times in the past, she wanted to go to Macy's to be fitted. OK, no problem, like most men when their wife's hit the lingerie department. we can find someplace else more interesting. Not this time. Sales associates told my wife, we don't do that anymore. Note to self: Dillard's still does and Susan walked out with 4 of the 6 she wanted and the other two were delivered to our house two days later via courier. Macys new system sucks! I made a purchase of cologne online and it processed my payment. Then a few minutes later I get a email saying that it's been cancelled and needs verification from me. So I call the verification department and get verified and they do a hold on my previous payment sends it back to my bank and says it'll be refunded up 1 to 7 business days not counting weekends. WOW!!! Like that doesn't make sense to me. So then the customer service rep verify me and ask for another payment while the other payment is pending for return on my bank account. I bought a ring from this location, i wasn't given the option to have my finger sized nor was i told once it was opened i could not return it. I was also checked out by the "manager", once i realized the ring was to big i went back not even 2 minutes after and tried to exchange it i was told sense it was opened i wasn't able to return it. Remember when you would go to a shoe department and someone would be on the floor attending to you? They would help you find the style you were looking for, suggest alternatives. My experience today included standard by the cashier stand listening to the shoe sales lady socialize with the stock room worker for over 5 mins while a line of 6 other shoppers formed behind me. Someone in line finally knocked on the stockroom wall and the sales lady greeted me. I had 3 shoe options. She checked the availability and sizes and there was only one that might work. Someone brought her the box which she handed to me along with the three floor samples which she told me to put back. What happened to Macy's customer service? I left the store without trying on the shoes and can guarantee I will not shop there for shoes again. Macy's should either invest in training their employees about quality service or put all of the shoe boxes on the floor and let the customers serve themselves. We were shopping for nice dresses to attend a friend's wedding. Checkout line is five customers deep. One cashier working. Six staff walking around apparently shopping for themselves. No help in the dress department finding sizes. The dressing rooms wer hot, no air circulation and looke like they hadn't been cleaned in a month according to by better half. I was more help for my wife than the staff and I'm useless. No boyfriend / husband chairs next to the fitting room. Four of us guys just pacing around stressing our partners out for no reason. There are multiple sections on clearance that make no sense to customers. Impossible to find a specific size in any section. Tried on four or five. Each one fit completely differently. Left with nothing. This section is just a disaster. The shopping experience is the same in here today as it was when I was a teenager at the mall with my mom when she needed nice clothes. It hasn't changed in 30 years. Even as a dude I can clearly tell Macy's needs a revolution in how they display and organize clothes by size, shape and style. If they don't figure it out soon internet retailers are going to obliterate them. The only reason we came into the store is because we need it asap. read more

This store is different and looks like it's on its last leg. I am always confused and not sure what going on when I walk in here. There are little to no associates to help. The ones I run into apparently can't help me and the ones that are needed are never available. Management is nowhere to be found. It's in need of remodeling or renovations. I sort of liked the second chance department downstairs. I got some cute Marc Fisher Booties in taupe for a very low price even though MF isn't expletive on clearance anyhow. But that's a popular color these days. Tiny shoe dept. on the main level but never have enough help. Finish Line salesperson only responsible for helping his own clientele. I liked this Macy's. Despite not caring much for department stores, I wanted to check out the assortment of Levi's Jeans. It's time for a new pair. After a botched attempt to find a pair in Belk's limited selection I found a LOT more available here. Not many employees wandering around to ask if I needed help, so I guess that's a downside. However, I was content and confident with finding my own jeans. And I did finally find them. For $40 I can't complain. Hopefully they'll last me many years like my last pair. The fitting rooms could use a little more attention. People regularly leave piles of tried-on clothes in them and it starts to get annoying when you want to get in and try stuff on. Never mind that the stacks of clothes on display are just never perfectly tidy here on a weekend. They do have one of my favorite brands for t-shirts: American Rag. Which at first doesn't sound enticing. But if you want some shirts without words but with a good feel for patterns and colors I can highly recommend them. Seriously better than a lot of what you find at the better known name brand stores. This being a department store, I'd be remiss not to mention they have everything every department store has. Clothes for women and kids too. Blankets, sheets and bedding. Makeup and accessories. Kitchen wares. You could find it all in one place here. read more

This specific Macy's at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, NC is always so messy. These days I only go there to make returns, not to make any purchases. The reason for this is that their inventory is terrible, it does not market to the mall's demographics and there are hardly any sales associates ever working. Such a shame that the better mall in Charlotte does not have a Macy's like the NY-Midtown store or Miami-Dadeland. Hoping someday, this store will make a turn for the better. read more

Nice department store with everything you need. They had great sales going on. Up to 80% off. I was surprised to learn they even have furniture or sale. Additionally they have a outlet store within the store. It reminded me of a mini Marshall's. Prices were reduced but not slashed. I believe the sales on the floor offered better sales. I went in to Macy's for two specific items, Dior perfume and a Michael kors tote. After being annoyed all the girls trying to sell perfume, I told them I wanted Dior they said it was the last counter. I found it and there was a lady there helping a man. I was waiting fir her to finish up, She never made eye contact with me or acknowledged me being there, when she was done with the man she bolted out of the booth. I waited for about 6 minutes to see if she was returning.... Nothing! So I walk over to the purses found the one I wanted and they are locked up. I walked over to a counter and asked for help, she told me she doesn't work for Macy's, so I walked over to a different counter, same story! I walked the whole lower sales floor, couldn't find one person who actually worked for Macy's!!!!! So I left, guess they don't want my business.... So disappointed! read more

So I was in the store today with my sister looking for a white dress. We wanted to get some help cause we aren't from the area and don't know this local store well. After searching the sales floor in the women's dept for a sales associate we called the store while inside to see if they answered the phone and nothing but the automated service is what I spoke to. It's sad that I today you can get more service online than inside a brick and mortar building. We found a dress but no sizes we left feeling like we missed something. Shopping is my all time favorite activity! I went to Macy's shoe department to help me prepare for an upcoming vacation the other weekend. I left with 5 pairs of shoes and a new credit card account! They have a great selection of shoes, which is organized well and spacious. The employees were good at helping me get my size and stayed busy. However, I didn't like seeing the employees settling who was helping whom...maybe for commission or something. It made me uncomfortable and wasn't very customer service friendly. Why is this Macy's so dirty? It is one of the most filthy department stores I have been in, in years. The chairs are falling apart, pain is peeling and cushions are tattered. The women's dressing rooms are never empty (full of clothes that people have tried on and left there) and smell like dust and feet. The carpets look awful and just gross. The shoe department, if you would call it that has hardly any options. The misses department is completely disorganized and clothes have holes and smell terrible. Staff look depressed. My daughter and I experienced the absolute worst service imaginable!! We literally waited thirty minutes at the cosmetic counter after being acknowledged and ignored by a "sales associate". This store is severely understaffed! We the made our way to the jewelry counter and again had to ask several times for help. The associate was rude then ignored us for over twenty minutes. We wanted to purchase a rather pricey ring but the wait was outrageous!! I will never go back to Macy's Southpark so please take my advice and shop anywhere else!!!! read more

The sales associate (Tamica ) far exceeded my expectations. This store in general does not rate well with me at all. However, Tamica gets a five star review for excellent customer service. She was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. She even took the time to offer assisting me with my return and my new order. She was pleasant and did a great job. In my opinion this store is only one star worthy. The service there is usually horrible and the selection is not very good I made an exception and shopped there again and my experience with the sales clerk is what encouraged me to make a second purchase. read more

We have been here in the dressing room for 15 minutes and there hasn't been one sales associate that has come by. As a matter fact, we have hardly seen any roaming the floor we have had to search for them in far off departments. Also, the restrooms here are so disgusting....urine was everywhere and no one has cleaned it up and we've been by twice in the past hour! The store is dirty and not kept up well. The other day my wallet split in half, and I heard that Macy's had a bunch of men's wallets on sale, so a-shopping I went. I was very pleased with what I encountered. I've been in Macy's before, of course, but this was a particularly enjoyable experience. The sales staff was very helpful, pointing me to exactly the item I wanted, as well as scanning their 30% off New Year's sale coupon for me, even though I didn't have it on my person. A note to my fellow tall persons: their selection of men's tall sizes is actually pretty decent. I ended up buying a shirt and some pants while I was there. If you have a long inseam but a relatively normal waist, check the regular sizes if all the pants in the big-and-tall section are too wide. I found several pairs of 36-inseam slacks there. read more

Everything was going fine today until checkout. They make you checkout 1 right beside everyone else. Please open registers that are separated. You have to share the same counter and the credit card machines are like 8 inches apart. Come on Macy's. I don't mind waiting in line but give us at least 3 feet of separation. 6ft or more would be better. read more
