I'd hate for this Macys to close because of its close proximity to me but I'd get over them closing. One the customer service in the furniture department is non existent. I don't even know if there is anyone even working that area. I really loved going here to buy furniture. There was one person who I used to work with. His name is Steve and he was always very helpful, knowledgeable and honest. Told me like it is which forced me to always want to come back and work with him. read more

I have been shopping at Macy's forever but what I experienced today was far beyond anything I've ever seen. The store was like a ghost town few customers and no employees to be found! The fitting rooms were in terrible shape with clothing piled up high on the floors of each of the stalls, more clothing hanging on every hook in the dressing rooms and countless abandoned racks with new clothes hanging on them sitting throughout the store. After checking every counter in the store we finally found one little lady (Mrs Pam) helping customers, answer the phones and ringing customers up! She did her best to be professional as the line continued to grow and several employees came to the adjacent register not to help but to look past the customers and clock out! Although Mrs Pam tried to manage the ever growing line she had to call for help; the lines were getting long, people were angry and leaving! This is not the local dollar store and m I expect better from an establishment such as Macy's. read more

I went to the South Park location, to return a Christmas gift, I had the original receipt and the gift receipt. They offered me a gift card. I wanted cash back they said this was something they do not offer, even though The purcase was with a debit card and they got their money the same day. I asked the manager, a tall black guy who studdard most of the conversation to show me that in writing, he could not show me nor tell me where this so called policy was written, or housed. They must be getting ready to go out of business with that behavior. I was going to buy other items, they can cancel that. Bye bye Macy's!! read more

We see The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade every year on TV and you want to give back by going and shopping at Macy's. It's like an institution. Well it was no Miracle on 34th Street here at this Macy's. The retail industry has changed so much and so has their lack there of customer service. Sad state of affairs. Everyone is promoting and shopping local while department store as well as chain retailer are not at the level where they once were. One would imagine why is this happening? Could it be customer service??? I have noticed changes in this store since I have shopped here throughout the years. It's just a job here for people to clock in and clock out and make some money. Don't get me wrong there are good salespeople working here but Today was not our day. Went to counter to ask questions about product as well as to be rung up at cash register. An employee was at the racks going through stuff. No interaction and continue to ignore surrounding. Had to go over and ask her a question. She was able to respond. A shopper passing by gave me a better response regarding to the fitting of a coat. Another staff walks by and starts talks to other employee. Paying no mind to customers or people walking by. They in their own bubble. I asked him about price then he used scanner on the coat. He finally says "Oh, I did not notice you at the cash register. There is no one there. I am sorry." Then he moves on. Found another cash register area. Staff was busy at the rack. We said we need to be rung up. She then tries to get us to sign up for a Macy's card. We went for it but she was having issues with signing us up. She had to call the manager to come over and that took a while. The line was getting long and getting backed up. The manager came and other issue came up. We just had coat rung up and paid for it without signing up for the Macy's card. This is bad. Black Friday weekend here at Macy's and was quiet on Sunday. You can here a pin drop. Not a lot of staff around. Trying to find someone for assistance is hard and getting rung up is even rougher. read more

When I'm in need of the snazzy Martha Stewart line of kitchen items or a upscale / nice dress / outfit for work, I come here. I generally find everything I'm looking for on my own; however, their sales associates are a bit overbearing. I pay them hardly no mind, as I know they're in a slump like the rest of retail. No one among the perfume/makeup wants to work. I mean they don't want to work for Macy's, nor work at all. Shopkick didn't work. The 1 star is for the 1 rep that I actually stopped to help me and she tried but help us all they don't have a great connection nor speed for in store internet to their on POS so I could order DUO product. POS didn't load past 1 page. No one proactively approached me and that's fine but you don't get to stand around and chit chat with one another while ignoring a customer. Though I found a suh-WEET packable down jacket in a super-smooth camo blend of greens and day-glo orange, it was GLORIA who made my experience one I wanted to run to Yelp and tell. What a WONDERFUL woman. She complimented my choice of style, asked if I had shoes to complement, but never pressured me to find them at Macy's. Asked me all the right questions--save X% by opening a Macy's card, etc. And made my shopping experience at this Macy's a stellar one. Macy's is Macy's is Macy's. You can get the clothes you know they have there for pretty comparable prices, sometimes get a steal when the seasons change and clearance racks are packed. This Macy's don't have many stuff. It's a department store. So you'd think they have close to everything. Nope. I usually go just to see if they have what I saw on the Macy's website or the app but it's never there. So I end uo trying something similar with similar color and going ovwr to Southpark anyway to actually get the product. For girls, on the other hand, is a different story. Macy's is a department store that has been around for a long time. I did not make a purchase in the Home Goods section today because I was not able to locate just the right item for me that was in stock. I enjoy shopping here and had I been alone, I could have shopped much longer (they closed late on Sunday). If I could provide Macy's Management with a 0 I would. My husband went to purchase my Christmas gifts at Macy Charlotte Northlake location using some Macy Gift cards we purchased online. He wanted to go into the store, I did not so I used my gift cards via the online system with NO ISSUE. My Husband however was told he could only use 2 gift cards at a time and would not be allowed to pay the difference of 6 dollars ($6) and change via cash or his personal credit card the difference could only be paid with Macy's Credit Card. He called me an I too was confused. So I called the store manager and she repeated the policy and then I asked had she bothered to call her customer service or support she said NO because she had to many customers. Sad thing about it she was a manager in the store. We need all our money back for purchasing these gift cards and NEVER, EVER USE THE NORTHLAKE Store their management team is the worst. read more

Do not respect the customers personality I went to Macy's yesterday to get a dress for a friend. At the check out, When I tried to use the 20$ coupon I had, I was told that I can not use it that day, but they can hold the dress for me for 24 hours and I can use it tomorrow. I decided to do so, and went back for the dress today. The lady helping me at the desk told me I can not use the coupon again because they have a 20% special offer today (which was less than 20$) I explained what I was told by her collogue the day before and asked I prefer not to use the special but the 20$ coupon instead. She checked that with someone and told me it is not possible. So I asked if I can meet the manager since I would simply get the dress the day before if I was not provided wrong information, and would not waste so much time going there again. The manager did not bother to come and another staff called Joshua came instead. I told him the story and showed the hold receipt. His first response was he can not help because he was not the one who told me that. When I complained about my time being wasted and wrong information being provided to me he offered 20% off the base price. I told him the 20% is the special deal of the day and it is already there and it is not nice to pretend he is offering that to me because of the problem. But instead of apologizing for all this and his lie his response was "DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GIVE YOU THESE FOR FREE?!!" I asked for the Manager again and waited a few minutes but did not get to see her. I got the dresses only and only because I had promised them to someone. I am so annoyed not because of of the 10-20$ difference on my payment, and not even because of my valuable time being wasted, but mainly because of the rude, irresponsible, dishonest attitude I experienced at Macy's today. After calling Macy's to determine that they have a brassiere fitting service. We went Northlake Mall Macy's to get my elderly mother in law fitted for a new brassiere this early afternoon. Hubbie dropped us off and headed to the phone kiosk. Once we located the intimates on the 2nd floor, we seemed to be the only patrons on the sales floor, except for one gent strolling back and forth while speaking into his phone. We did get the furniture staff to locate someone for us. We were told the Bra Specialist was off today. The wandering gent then suggested we go try on bras without the sales help, the manager came up to us and told us the bra fitting specialist was due back from lunch in 10 minutes. I asked if the gent was an employee? Neither saleswoman answered me. He wandered around a not leaving the intimate section, I realized I didn't feel safe alone in the intimates dept waiting for sales help with this guy asking me why I needed sales help to buy a bra. I went to the Executive offices to meet up with Hubbie, reported the incident to Loss Prevention, iD' the guy and they said they would escort him out. Would I like to continue shopping. We left the store immediately. Never have I ever had such a strange experience before. I can't explain why the female manager on duty didn't suggest this guy move along. My impression is that the store is seriously understaffed. Possibly a good situation for a purse snatcher, or such nefarious behavior. I will not be back. Yelpers beware here. At first glance this Macy's looks nice, but as you dig deeper it really lacks. My husband can never find anything in the men's department but finds plenty at South Park and online. Same with me and the women's plus sizes. They have a decent housewares department and that's about it. I always have trouble finding a register that's open and staffed, and if I do it usually has a line. It doesn't matter if it's on the weekend or during the week, they never seem to have enough staff. read more

My daughter and I spent over an hour Saturday in the men's shoe department trying to get help. She was trying to buy a pair of Timberland boots, which aren't cheap. Went to woman at register but she stated she couldn't page, just look around for man in large glasses and dreadlocks. We found a nice young man fitting that description who was willing to help but he didn't work there. We even called the store and was put on hold for a very long time. Finally gave up and went to Dicks and bought them. Macy lost $190.00 sale. Won't be going back. read more

I have to agree with others regarding customer service in this store. I moved from Cincy 2 years ago and loved the Macy's stores there. Selection and customer service were wonderful. However, I am now ready to cross Macy's off my list due to my experiences at this store. It doesn't matter what department I have shopped, I am never able to locate anyone to help me whether it involves looking for an item or attempting to check out. The last 2 times I have shopped there, I have wandered all over the store in my attempt to find a salesperson! I finally picked up one of the phones at the checkout desks and asked for the store manager. Although she apologized, personally rang me up, and assured me that someone would contact me regarding the issue, I have yet to hear back. I just read an article stating that Macy's is exploring ideas on how to provide their customers "new" experiences. I just they forget that and just provide customer service! My cell phone and credit cards were stolen from a Macy's men's fitting room at New Port Mall, Jersey City New Jersey. This happened in a split second while I went to get another pair of pants. I called security but they said that there was nothing they could do about it. I was told that this happens all the time, if this is the case, then we need cameras. This happened in the jeans fitting room. I know they have cameras at the entrance of the room and my mother who was waiting for me outside says that during the time I was there no more than 5 men went into that room, including one of the employees who went in twice. They don't offer any help, at least they could offer to check the camera and see a suspicious face, but NO! they don't care. read more

First I had to wait 30 minutes for him to return from his lunch, then I was told they don't do online returns. I told him that's not what the paper I handed him said. He was absurd & told me he's telling me the other part- okay, so you can just include a disclosure for something like that after the purchase was made? I also have my wedding registry with Macy's- not anymore, if associates can just make stuff up about online purchases & then be rude when you try to return or even exchange them, no thank you. Today my mom's wallet was stolen from her purse while shopping inside of this Macy's. Keep in mind there were almost no other customers in the store. Store management and security acted as if they were inconvenienced by her request for them to view the security camera. The police were called and not long after the police left a Macy's employee leaves her shift with a gold Michael Kors purse in her hand. This is the exact same wallet stolen from my mom's purse. When store personnel were asked to question the employee their response was "she's trustworthy and her shift is over and would never do that. I intend on contacting the police again and request they view the footage of this employees movement while the incident occurred. I also intend to contact Macy's corporate office. Macys should take the security of their customers more seriously and after their rude and inpatient behavior today will never shop in this store again. read more

Worst Experience Ever! I bought a sectional couch from Macy's the first week of July, 2015. They said it would take 4 weeks for it to come in and be delivered. The couch arrived finally in September, 2015 and we set up delivery. It was to be delivered between 8 and 10 Saturday morning. I waited and then received a call asking me to take a survey on how my delivery was. I was confused because they never showed up. I told the person on the phone that they did not show up. She said yes they did. I said no they did not. Turns out they forgot to put the couch on the truck. Another delivery was set up. Two weeks later the couch was delivered. They brought it into my home and at that we realized they had ordered two of the same sides so the sectional would not go together. They left both left sides with me and said they would have to order a new right side and it would take 3 to 4 weeks. The right side arrived and it was the wrong length. It was several feet longer than it was supposed to be and would not fit. At this time I decided to go to the Macy's store and speak with the manager and let them know I was done and I just wanted my money back. They agreed to credit me back the money and they could come pick up the couch. They were there in 3 days to pick up the couch. It is going on 3 weeks and I still have not received the credit on my credit card. I have called twice to only be told that you have to talk to these people Monday through Friday. I work. Twice they took the information, agreed they could see I had not received my credit and they would most definitely have someone call me on Monday. Twice I have not received a call. Now I believe they are stealing from me. They have my money and no one at Macy's cares. The saddest part of this whole ordeal is no one ever said they were sorry.
