Macy's is a staple. They have a huge selection and plenty of sales. It's also a beautiful showroom. I was really tempted by the buttery soft cashmere sweaters on sale for half off, but I wanted my mom to try one on before I bought her one since that's a higher value item. I was able to find a lovely pure cotton sweater at a good price for now. I love finding more natural fabrics. Hopefully I can come back soon. read more

Great Macy's and fun location. Friendly and courteous employees. The mens cologne counter folks come at you like sharks and are a bit aggressive but still really nice and friendly. Who doesn't want to close that sale but it can be frustrating at times and I find myself dodging the area. I do Love this store and love watching for sales. They tend to have the best selection. Even have bought a few nice suits here but the Polo section and everyday clothes is where I spend most of my shopping time. The have a great houseware section, luggage and bath towels area too. My favorite Macy's in Columbus and love to shop here. I even order at times by the app and do the in store pick up. Great service and you can even park in the Fenlon Square garage and enter directly to the second floor of the store. read more

Tony and I were doing some Christmas shopping in Columbus Ohio and we dashed into Macy's looking for something for his mother I love the larger department stores because they take my mind to happier memories shopping with my grandmother when I was a child. Especially at Christmas time with the decorations and music. Everything Bright, clean and shiny. The noise, the people and the escalators. Even at 57, I am still a little timid around them. We looked at several items but in the end couldn't find exactly what we wanted. Lovely Large store, helpful friendly staff, definitely going back when needed and in the area. read more

Overall terrible experience, not wasting time writing it all. Highlights include a line of 2 people with 5 items total taking 20 minutes and the cashier forgot to remove the dye pack which was found busted in the dryer. Could at least put an alarm on the tags to let customers know to check their stuff. Ruined all my clothes, never shop here. Ever. read more

The worst Store I have been in the USA. The staff is always angry and they are not willing to help you at all. There is a big difference into how to read the discount signs and they are not the same as in any other store. The staff in the corner for the ladies department is the worst of all. I think I will never even bother asking a question to them because the response is predictable and wrong. I am surprised someone has not done something to improve this. This is the most disorganized corporation, ever. They seem to be more intent in driving customers away then providing good customer service. My latest fiasco with them was when I tried to pay off my account. I tried to do it on line, but couldn't get to the point of putting in my debit card info. It was impossible for me to do it on line, so I called to make the payment over the phone. They now are charging me $5 to pay off my account online. To top it off, they don't take it now, I will be billed next month for the $5 and get to go through this all over again! I guess they don't want my business. read more

Not a big fan of malls or department stores, but they have their uses. This time, I needed a wallet, and we were nearby. They had a good selection, and most were on sale. Of course prices were high to begin with, so the sale prices shown brought things down to just tolerable for me. I selected one I liked. Actually, Sweetie saw one with an airplane on it and suggested it semi-jokingly. But, hey, airplane, and the wallet was a style I liked, and it turned out the price that rang up was even lower than the sale suggested. So, score. We walked around a bit and shopped for Baby K. Again, kinda expensive, but some nice stuff. Very large store, big selection. Protip: women's stuff takes up the entire first floor, men's and everything else is upstairs. We figured this out on our own; would have been nice to have some signage downstairs, but the only thing we saw was upstairs, after we had found things on our own. Service was good. Easy access to the mall for more overpriced items, and screaming kids, aimless adults, etc. read more

I really like shopping in this Macy's store. It is usually clean and well kept, so it is easy for you to find items. They have some great sales. Their sale racks are always full, so you can easily find some great name-brand items for sometimes ¼ of the original cost. They also have a great shoe selection and the staff is friendly. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. MIL tried to purchase a mattress there and none of the staff knew how to ring it up. She was told to go online and order it. She ordered the mattress online and didn't receive any sort of invoice or anything, not even when the mattress was delivered. Macy's charged her credit card and now no one at the company can provide her an invoice even after being on the phone with them for at LEAST 4 hours and several phone calls! One of the representatives even hung up on her! Awful customer service! Never shipping there EVER AGAIN! read more

I love Macy's they always have great sales, deals and coupons. I've bought clothes shoes and makeup and have been very happy with the service. I've also ordered kitchen items and it's really a breeze. The Estée Lauder counter is fantastic! They have really amazing customer service, you don't get the feeling of being forced to buy anything. When you're feeling a bit blue and in the dumps, a trip to the Lancome counter at Macy's always helps! To help me with my girlie girl groove, I decided to stop in n see the new products and colors. I have been a Lancome lover for 20 plus years. Good skin care is what keeps me on my game! I alternate products from Lancome and products from my dermatologist. A Lancome makeup artist just happened to be at the store, and I haven't had a makeover since Alex Sanchez in early summer, so this was a treat! I wanted a soft cashmere grey/pink look and wow, I got it! She used the new Teinte Miracle to make my skin look as soft as suede, then lined my eyes in black, close to the lashes, she used Optic all over the lid, and Ceil Du Soir, oooh la la, on the lids and in the crease. Drama was an all over wash of iridescent lilac and black Definicils on my lashes. On my lips she used Bordeaux liner, then pale golden pink It Girl and shimmering Optical Rose La Laque Fever gloss completed the soft look. Heres an tip from the experts for poutier lips: apply your foundation or powder first, then apply concealer in a lighter shade AROUND your mouth right along the lip line extending outwards about a fourth of an inch. Experiment and see how it works for you. The girls at the Lancome counter know their biznazz, you can trust them to make you look good whether understated and elegant or dramatic and rich. They go the extra mile and customer service is tip top! I'm ready for a weekend in Paris. Ah yes, the Louvre, the Metro, sidewalk cafes to people watch, bookstores, the Eiffel tower, black-eyed, dark haired French men...mmmmm...yessss... Oh damn, time to wake up ;D Oh yeah, one more thing: you can have a makeup party, get this: AT HOME!!! How sweet is that!? The artist and assistants come to you and your bffs! My wedding registry was very hard to manage here and most of the things I really didn't want since Bed Bath & Beyond had exactly what I wanted that wasn't here. I know they do events at all the Macy's for wedding couples but it's not all what it's cracked up to be. If you want better quality gifts you can go elsewhere and pay less and get just as good quality, that's what I did. I have only bought a few things here and that's just because I got the "dream fund" card which allows registered couples to get things that they may not have put exactly on the registry and want elsewhere within Macy's. Overall, I just come to Macy's to get jewelery when it's a good deal and fragrances when it's the right season with a deal. That comes right around my birthday which is always a good present.:) read more

Stopped here to pick up my Calvin Kleins. Store was large, fairly clean, well stocked, and decently organized. While it was not my first trips it has been a year or two since I have been here before. It was a good thing I knew where the men's section was because every employee I saw was engaged or working on folding and facing. I was able to find my style and size quickly and that was where quick ended. I waited almost five minutes to get a cashiers attention to come to their register. As I stood at the register my section became a ghost town. When the lady finally showed up there was no apology for the wait and she seemed more interested in trying to sell me on signing up for their store branded credit card than getting me out the door or minimizing my irritation. If I have to put a couple of pairs underwear on a credit card I got problems and I don't need to be sked twice. I understand they were trained to push the credit cards but I had two items and check out took over ten minutes. Macy's has a lot of different brands and their prices are a little on the high side but they usually have some good sales and their clearence section has some really good deals. My issues today were customer service oriented as I wish it was easier and more efficient checking out. When I said no to the credit card the first time I did not need to be asked a second time. I hope I get better service the next time I shop at Macy but I will still recommend them for their inventory and sales. read more

Ahh, Macy's! An American Legend. Why do I like Macy's so much? It always reminds me of one of my favorite cities in the world - New York! Of course, this Macy's cannot compare to the original in NYC, but it sure comes close. Located in one of Ohio's premier malls - Polaris Fashion Place - Macy's is one of its crowning jewels. Without Macy's, I don't know how Polaris could call itself a "Fashion Place". I have to admit. This store is more of an attraction for my wife than it is for me, but I really like it here. It combines class with comfort and convenience. The staff is very well trained and you'll rarely see a frown on faces around here. You'll find the best quality clothing, jewelry, home furnishings and more every time you walk into this store. Is Macy's the cheapest department store around. No, but their prices are reasonable and worth every penny. Therefore, I am giving this Macy's 4 stars. I would give it 5, but, truth be known, I'm not an avid shopper. You need to be here over the Christmas season. This is the best Christmas store around. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that this is Santa's favorite department store too! :-) read more

While the selection is decent, the customer service at Macy's can be very frustrating. They wouldn't apply a coupon that worked for the same items online and kept telling me the only way to save money in store was to open a Macy's card. Even after I explained why I had previously closed one, I was still offered one another three times. Then after I overpaid because I was in a hurry, found out later that they left the security tags on! Also the dressing rooms at this location smell awful. I've not shopped a lot at Macy's but we decided to go ahead and register there for some nice wedding gifts and spent Saturday really perusing the entire store and looking for what we could use to furnish our new home we plan to buy next year with. This Macy's in the mall is, like every other Macy's I've ever seen and that is super duper nice and extra fancy. This place is the epitome of free market capitalism and makes no apologies for who it caters to and that is high end clientele. Yes they have some sales but for the most part this is one of those stores where if your checking account has redlined in the past month or two you have no business being in. Which of course makes it the perfect place to shop using other people's money and so we marched in and promptly registered for our wedding. As usual the bride is the star of the show here so our two nice sales clerks spent some time congratulating us and going over the entire process. We were signed up and on our way with a scan gun in about 20-25 minutes. Everyone here is super, super helpful and nice and extremely helpful. I can't say I've ever been in a store where it seems the people who work there all love helping people and are so very knowledgeable about their products. Why not 5 stars? Well as I said, the place is a bit high end and you have to, in my opinion anyways, take the higher prices and consider that in your ultimate review. This is a great place to register and I'm glad we did. We had so many people here who were really so nice and helpful at all of our questions, even the sometimes silly and inane ones. I can't say enough about how great of an experience we had here Saturday and I'm so glad we chose this store. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Beware when you sign up for their credit card services. A year ago, I signed up for one of their cards and they sent it to the wrong address (West instead of East). As such I never received a statement. The only way I knew they had even processed a bill was when I found out that it was turned over to collections. Fast forward a year later. My husband independently signed up for a card. We triple checked with the clerk that the address was correct. Yet again it was wrong (same error) and we get tagged with interest changes. We were able to get the charges removed eventually, but their customer service were not only unable to explain why the problem happened, but really didn't seem to care. We will never patronize Macy's again. If they don't care to keep our business, I'm sure there are alternative stores that wouldn't mind taking our money. read more

I'm really not sure what is happening with Macys but this is the 2nd one that I have been in that just looks like a hot mess! Clothes on racks piled up near the dressing rooms. Nothing being cleared out or cleaned up. Wow! I can say the two associates that I asked for assistance from were quite friendly and helpful. They didn't have what I was looking for which was a wide legged pant in a solid color, only prints. Really, who is the genius buyer that thought every woman would choose and print pant and decide to wear a solid top and not the other way around? Anyway.... Not sure how fast I would rush back to Macys or this location. There are other department stores to choose from and many and just a bit neater in appearance. read more

I have been shopping at Macy's at Polaris for many, many years and have always enjoyed good service. The store is pleasant, the clerks work to give me the best deal possible, and the quality of the clothing is reliably good. It's true that when times are slow, they may not be staffed as well and not every checkout station is manned. That's understandable. But I always find someone to help me. Yesterday, I accidentally left my license at a checkout. I called today, and a clerk who was working on the second floor went down to the first floor to the counter where I had been to see if it was still there. The clerk at that counter informed her that it had been turned in to the office last night when found. I can return tonight to get it. She even told me what to do if no one happens to be in the office when I get there. I especially appreciated that she was pleasant and not a bit annoyed that I had been so careless. When they have sales they are good! When they don't I usually walk through them to get to the rest of the mall. It's a Macy's so you know what they offer, nothing new there but it is a very nice one. I've gotten some purses and belts on great sales that were cheaper than in the rest of the mall and some great silver earrings. I don't particularly care for what they offer in most of the ladies sections but your mileage may vary. What I dislike about this store is the shoe department!!! It's hard as heck to find help, and when you do you have to wait for them to scan the shoe and wait till somebody back in the back pulls it out and then they bring it out to you. I wanted a really nice pair of Keds one day but was not in the mood to wait - again - for them to go back and find a different size. I left. read more

My review is for the Macy's women's shoe department. Went here today and they happen to have a lot of clearance shoes, however I had my baby with me and couldn't really maneuver my stroller through the clearance isles because they were too narrow. I found a boot I liked and just needed the matching one, so i went to the desk to get an associate. In front of me were 2 ladies who looked very annoyed and said they had been waiting as well for shoes. The associate was a young boy, however he had no pep in his step, walked slowly, didn't go out of his way to ask if you needed anything, etc. Actually felt as if he was annoyed to be there. When it became my turn he said the barcode wouldn't scan, but he would go check in the back. He came back almost immediately & never said a thing, was taking shoes to other people, etc. I thought maybe there was another associate working the back trying to find it & that it was just taking a while because they had to manually try & find it with no barcode reference. Literally 15 minutes went by before I got up & approached him & he acted like he didn't even remember me & when I reminded him of the situation he nonchalantly said, "ohhh, yeah we couldn't find it". read more

Every time I go there it's impossible to find a sales person or really anybody at all. Today I went to buy bed linens since I had a coupon. I walked around that whole store, going from department to department, and could not find a single person at a cash register to check me out. I finally left the sheets on the register table and left. A one star may be a slight exaggeration but not by much. I am just so fed up with this Macy's and I have been here many many times as evidenced by my (unfortunate) Macy's premier elite status. Compared to other Macy's, the selection here is decent. Perhaps a little thin in the men and home goods Depts but a good selection of young adult stuff, which unfortunately I don't shop in. What really ticks me off is the HORRENDOUS customer service here. I will update with clerk names when I get the chance, but I have bought stuff here on multiple occasions during their annual sale, men's sale, or private sale. They literally have coupons sitting everywhere, yet this particular clerk will never raise a finger to automatically apply the coupon for you. WHY?? I don't know, maybe he has an insane amount of stock in Macy's and decided that the extra 25% that I did not save on my purchase will pay huge dividends in next quarter's earning report. I once had to wait in line for an extra 20min to get them to retroactively apply the coupon after I made a purchase because I assumed this clerk would just apply the stupid coupon sitting on his cash register. The most egregious thing was when I bought 2 sport coats and asked for a nylon (instead of cheap plastic) garment bag from my clerk. He straight up said "no, we only hand them out when you buy a suit". Seriously? Will they deduct the cost from your paycheck if you hand out a garment bag? How much does a garment bag cost macys anyway? 10cents???? read more
