Being a "no longer high school skinny" kind of guy, I find myself shopping in the Big & Talls of the world, thanks to these kids today who insist on buying clothes much larger than they need in an attempt to look cool. They forget what that does to us folk who actually NEED to find that (ahem) size extra-MEDIUM. This was my first time visiting here and I was more than pleased to find a larger athletic wear section that I had expected, assuming that this store would focus mainly on casual and formal attire. As expected, the clothes are a bit higher in price, but hey, ya gotta pay for that extra fabric, dude. Our salesman was very welcoming and stayed with me throughout the duration of my visit, although I told him that he could tend to anyone he needed to and check back with me. Note to all you shoppers out there: be respectful and don't monopolize the attendant's time while you're still in the consideration stage. He was even kind enough to give me the location of sister stores, if I couldn't find what I needed there. I also find that to be a pleasant surprise, because most times, they will offer to order it for you and keep the commission. He was obviously more concerned with my satisfaction, for which, I am extremely grateful. I will definitely return. read more

First, you need to know that I am a 62 y/o man who stands 6'5" and weighs 347 so my clothes will always bcome from what I call the gay boys stores. Big and Tall stores are all different across the country but yes they have similarities but their locale matters. I have known and shopped for years at DXL on Olentangy at Henderson. The particular day that I went and found the DXL at Polaris I discovered that the location of the store matters most definitely with inventory numbers and product. I was headed to Men's Wearhouse at Polaris not knowing there was a DXL there oh. I am so glad I went a couple blocks away and found this particular DXL. And the days the pandemic it is difficult, I believe, for businesses to have a legitimate and full staff. I walked into the store and it was packed honestly. I saw one lady working with customers and working and running around but I just thought there were other employees working! However, this lady, Stephanie, was the only employee working this particular day. I was in the store shopping trying things on and enjoying my experience for more than an hour and I will attest that this lady would be the best brand ambassador for DXL ever. The store only got busier over the course of time that I was there--and she never stopped. Stephanie created an impression upon me that now has me connected to the Polaris DXL. Her calming professional Style and ability to help everybody the way she did this day proves to me that she really does know what she's talking about and cares about each and every customer. I'm sure I witnessed all of this even though she is overworked and probably underpaid. The inventory in this store is larger greater than what I consider the inventory to be at the Olentangy Henderson Road store. Perhaps it's totally do two more square footage here at the Polaris store but it's definitely more appreciated Yes, as every retailer there are those specific sales and incentives to get you in the door and to get you to buy one that will encourage you to purchase more but it's still acceptable and encouraged for someone like me that has to spend thousands a year on clothing for play and for professional work. The cleanliness here in the dressing room area and in the area where shoes are found is unbelievably totally organized and cleaned beyond what I ever would have thought. There is one employee, Stephanie, that is doing it all and let me tell you this particular day with the crowd that she had in there and it was consistently staying busy she really did do an amazing job Granted that I did not know that Polaris had the DXL but I am thrilled that I ran across it as I'm driving in the area. read more

I had the opportunity to go to this DXL location today because I needed a shirt as soon as possible. I have been to DXL's all over the US and I am a premium/platinum member, my point being, I've had the opportunity to experience the "DXL Way." Anybody who knows anything about DXL or has been to one before, you know you get greeted immediately when you come in the store and they are more than willing to assist you with anything you need. Unfortunately this wasn't the case today. I was greeted with a lackluster "hello," no eye contact, no enthusiasm, the gentleman kept folding clothes even though I was literally the only person in the store. I was in the store for minimum seven minutes browsing around, clearly I wanted to buy something, and he didn't acknowledge me ONCE! I asked him where the dressing room is and he gave me monotone verbal directions. I had to ask him again "where do I go?" We all know, in DXL fashion, he would have walked me to the dressing room and made sure I didn't need anything in addition to what I was taking in there. As well, he might have made a couple of recommendations. I tried on two shirts, neither of them worked, I went BACK OUT on the floor and AGAIN, I wasn't acknowledged or asked if I needed anything. I got another shirt, tried it on, it worked. I went to the register to pay, the guy wasn't anywhere to be found, he was folding clothes on the other side of the store. After waiting for about 2-3 min, he walks around the corner, "do you need help with anything?" Yes bro! I want to check out! Do you think I am here to order pizza?! All in all, absolute worst DXL experience I've ever had. If you want to check the video, I was in there at approximately 12:15p on 1/29. You will see I am not exaggerating. If I wasn't in a rush, I would have spent my lousy $75 bucks somewhere else... Lesson learned... read more

Today I made my usual 80 minute trip from Mansfield ohio to Columbus ohio to do my monthly shopping Having been a long time customer of the dxl location on Gemini pkwy in Columbus and used to normally exemplary service , I was totally taken aback and disappointed on my visit today and left the store having made only one quarter of my intended purchases owing to the total lack Of customer service and the borderline rudeness that I experienced . Owing to a recent knee surgery ,I was limping around on my cane trying to find the sizes that I needed , while the clerk , only 10 ft away , could not break away from his cell phone long enough to even ask if I needed assistance I continued to hobble around the store, obviously . In pain looking high and low for anything in size 4x Shirts , pants , sweaters , jogging suits et al And after a 20 minute ordeal finally on my own was able to find only a portion of what I had intended to purchase. . my increasing knee pain prevented me. From continuing. My search. So I proceeded to the check out counter , paid and left . i might add that at the time , ( 3:30 pm in the afternoon ) there we're only two other customers in the store .... and they too were wandering around without assistance . as there were two clerks on duty at the time ,I'm hopeful that this. Was just one of those " off days " that businesses sometimes encounter , and not a new self serve business model proffered by The management of this particular location . If you are a big guy, whether tall or with girth, this store can outfit you in clothes that do not fall apart and stand up to the rigors of being stretched out by a big butt. Sales are often and discounts are good. Love their Harbor club shirts. The extender waists built into their shorts and chino pants are the best. Comfortable, durable, and good looking. The staff was very helpful. They will take you to exactly your size and help with whatever you need. Instead of searching yourself, I strongly suggest that you take advantage of their knowledge. If you know me you know that I am not the normal size of a Man in his 30's. I have always been a bigger guy. I was over 6' tall in 5th grade and just went up from there. I used to hate shopping for clothes. My parents would take me to the mall or store and we would complain because almost everything we would try on did not fit. Then one day I decided to try a big and tall store. It was called casual male XL and I was in love. Awesome and cool clothing that fit perfectly and was for a guy my size. I was in clothing heaven! Fast forward a few years and all the casual males close because a newer, hipper store was opening and that is called Destination XL. My family being from Cbus all we did was go to Polaris and shop for clothing for me. When the Polaris DXL opened I was in heaven. This store was big, smelled awesome and had employees that looked like me. I have been to DXL on Gemini Place at least 100 times and always find more than what I am looking for. The staff like I said is big and tall like me which I find more comforting that having skinny people working in a big in tall store. They can relate to my struggles. DXL has a great clearance section with 3 different stickers. Blue which is 25% off, Green which is 50% off and Red which is 75% off. Very rarely do you find a red sticker showing 75% off but if you do then you are lucky. But most of the time it is blue stickers and you can find some awesome stuff for a little bit cheaper. The brands in this store are awesome. They have a giant Polo section, they have Tommy Bahamas, and many other designers as well. They have suits, active wear, shoes, and lots of other stuff. Overall as you can tell I love DXL! I highly recommend this location and this store! read more

I enjoy this store a lot. Employees are always friendly, the selection of clothes is wonderful too. The only downside is that it can be a bit pricey. Look to pay at least $25-$30 per garment. I'm glad that I discovered this store as it seems that most major stores pants sizes stop at 36. The clothes I've got here are the most comfortable that I've had in a long time and the staff here have been friendly and helpful each time. read more

Don't shop online with them ever! I ordered two t shirts. Easy enough. I got two deliveries. First was a long sleeve brooks brother button down. The second was the right product but wrong color. Order and tag on bag say "red" but shirt was green as grass. Sent both back and cancelled order. Won't shop with them again. Way two much effort for 2 tee shirts!! Wonder what guy who ordered brooks brothers shirt thought when a tee shirt showed up. And, for what's it worth, the brooks brothers shirt looked as if it had been returned a few times itself. read more
