Nooo. Macy's closed Macy's Cafe. The casual sit down cafe in the middle of the store for coffee, light snacks, sandwiches, soups and salads. This was the last of the Macy's that had this nice casual cafe in the department store, and that's why I enjoyed coming to this location. Yes, it's still Macy's which I love, but now, there's no reason for me to visit the Ridgedale location anymore. What a bummer. read more

The store is always very clean and staff is always very nice. Yesterday I had a very great experience with Sammy at the Kiehl's booth . He's very knowledgeable and friendly . He was able to help me get a great product for my sensitive skin and he answered all of my questions. It was a great interaction and never did I felt like he wasn't hearing what I am looking for. No sales tax on shoes and clothing in MN We stopped by this Macy's location after our dinner at Redstone located at the Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka. Macy's is one of the anchor stores. While the mall closed at 8:00p Macy's stayed open for another hour. I don't shop often but I love Macy's. I always find something at the Last Act (clearance) section. I wanted to replace my beloved denim jacket that I accidentally forgot in MA. I found one of the same brand but not the same color and it was not on sale. The layout of the women's section was a little confusing. Last Act deals are so good that the price you see is the price you pay and often you'll get the rock-bottom clearance price, sometimes reduced by as much as 80% from the original... and in MN there's no sales tax on clothing and shoes! Score! I was also able to use my Star Rewards loyalty program. Great service! When I couldn't find the section one employee assisted and came looking for it with me. I went to Macy's today at noon. I tried on 2 dresses. Trying them on was extremely difficult because the two pieces of the dresses were connected in an awkward way by the security tag. A nice sales person named Estella disconnected the tag on one so I could try it on. I decided against that one and hung it on the rack near the register so she could reconnect the tag, per her request. I put a hold on the other one as it was a "Last Act" item and greatly reduced in price. A different woman helped me with that, taking my name and telling me it would be held until the end of the day. At 4:00 I returned to try it on again. The dress was no where to be found and this time Estella was not helpful at all. She more or less called me a liar. I called a manger and while he diligently tried to help me find the dress, he failed. the organization in the women's clothing department is terrible. There are "Last Act" racks scattered throughout the floor with no rhyme or reason to any of it. The dress might have been on one of them but it would be impossible to know. My guess is that a shopper took it off the hold rack because the rack is just sitting out for anyone to grab what they want. It used to be that if you put a hold on something, they put it somewhere where it could not be touched until you came back. This was very disappointing. I might as well shop at Kohls. It is about on par with Macy's as far as organization but the sales people are more reliable and helpful. read more

Located in the Ridgedale Mall which is in the West End of Minneapolis out in the suburbs, this is a pretty sleepy quiet Macy's that is kept well and has nice sales associates as well. My girl certainly admittedly apparently particularly likes this location. She says: Macy's is an American institution. Shopping here is a must, at least once. They have tons of clothes for women and men and children. They also have great appliances and bedding. I think this was my fave Macy's store on our trip. Tons of cute clothes, lots on sale, and I made a new friend here - one of the floor associates. We still snap each other! Super nice! read more

Standard Macy's location. I am impressed by the areas dedicated to the Cafe, and season areas. They've dressed this location up pretty well with holiday decor. Sales are beautiful, a lot of 60% off around the entire location. This location has to be the biggest, or the second biggest location in the state. I've been here several times, but this latest time I went to buy a pillow for my bedroom. I was slightly impressed by their pillow selection, not knowing what to totally expect. The pillow I ended up being drawn to was $400. I had no idea pillows could be that expensive. They had a bunch of deals, so I went with a way cheaper version. I decided to visit Macy's today and realized there are new hours for all stores. Cleaning is taking place constantly by employees and the store is very clean and appears brighter for some reason. Employees aren't as willing to be proactive to assist you as in the past. Social distancing is being practiced especially when at the register. Plexiglass is now on each register when you are purchasing your items. The crowd is still pretty sparse and there are decent sales available in different areas of the store. My golf shorts were marked down 50% and this store had my size, timing is everything. read more

I asked her if she would help me pick out a tie and shirt to match my suit, and the look on her face and the awkward long pause was unbelievably obvious she did not want to help me one bit. Under construction... This Macy's needs some help, it's packed with disorganized merchandise. The good news is they are getting a face lift, so it will be cleaner, brightly lit w fluorescent lights, white marble floors, but still packed with disorganized merchandise. Now that I have said that there are some positives... They have sub specialty stores like BCBG, Sunglass Hut, Free People, designer jeans, and MAC. They run the Macy specials/ coupons on everything besides the makeup. BCBG never discounts at stand alone stores until clearance. For this I will continue to shop this location. I will miss the stand alone men's store (closing but a Nordstrom is replacing... Yes thumbs up!) The women's shoe department is decent. This Macy's has a poor selection of kids clothes. read more

This is strictly for the Chanel section. I wanted to purchase a foundation and a lipstick. When I walked to the lipstick section, the lady was going through a drawer. She didn't bother to greet me. Instead, she said "what do you need?" I responded with I am just looking (because I did not like her tone). I did a couple of swatches then left. I ended up purchasing a foundation from Lancome. Lancome: A few ladies were chatting together as I walked up. Right when they saw me, a last greeted me right away. I don't ever mind when people are chatting while at work. As long as they acknowledge me as a customer, I will be fine. I knew what I was looking for and exchanged foundations. People that complain about Macys' return/exchange policy, I think you are just returning it with the wrong sales person. I have never had an issue returning make up/perfume and clothes. read more

For all you men out there don't overlook shopping at the Macy's Mens Home Store. I have to say my most recent experiences at this place have been well "above average". It's not too often I walk into a store, get greeted by numerous employees and feel like everyone is legitimately interested in helping me. Surely a "treat" if I say so myself. The deals can sometimes be amazing too (especially if you're a Macy's card holder). You can find anything from suits to casual wear but let me stress this is a store devoted just to menswear. I was visiting family in Minnesota from New York City. I had a wonderful experience, went into the Ridgedale Mall during Fathers day to get some presents to bring back home and the Fragrance department associate Gene (Jin) (tall, skinny, blonde) I know how her name sound but can recall the correct spelling. She was so helpful, I got all the presents I wanted and even opened a macys account on 6/20/21. I work in the Hospitality Industry for over 11 years and 4 and a half years in The Plaza Hotel in 5ave. I have a lot of experience with Costumer Service and she was above and beyond at all times. We pretty much spend about 1k that day between myself and my two cousins. She was the first person who we approached for help and set us in a great mood to continue shopping in Macys. I strongly would recommend to train her for management. This review is for the LensCrafters inside the Macy's. I brought in my pair of prescription sunglasses that had lost a screw for repair, expecting to pay a small amount and wait a few days. Krysta repaired them for me on the spot free of charge and with a cheerful attitude. And she fixed something so they fit better as they were too loose before. Mind you this is a pair of glasses I had bought somewhere else, not even another Lenscrafters location, a whole different chain. I was really impressed with the service and convenience. Went shopping for mother of the bride dresses and the ladies fitting room really needs an air freshener and possibly a good cleaning with something that smells nice. The odor was very pungent and was like low tide mixed with dirty athletic bag that has been fermenting in the car for two weeks. I've been going to this Macy's location for several years. It's never impressed me, but it's usually serviceable. I visited recently in search of a swimsuit. The fitting room closest to the swimsuits was closed. The next closest one was also closed. By the time I found one that wasn't closed, everyone else had found it as well. Finally, I found an open fitting room near the lingerie section. The doors were so short (below my shoulder) that anyone walking by could get a free show. The rooms are also grimy and unkempt. DID MINNETONKA TURN INTO BROOKLYN CENTER? I was close to buying a suit (Material Girl swimsuits are cute and reasonably priced), but thought to myself, 'What has Macy's done to earn my business today?' Nothing, really. I was shopping at this location yesterday for shoes, bras and a body shaper for under an adorable Calvin Klein dress I'm wearing to a wedding. My mom was with me to help out, and I'm glad she was because absolutely no one offered any help the whole time I was in the intimates section. I've never bought a shaper before and I wasn't sure about my bra size with different brands. I could have used assistance from someone who had some knowledge about shapers.... So my mom and I just grabbed a bunch of different styles, sizes, etc. just trying to guess before trying them on. As I carried about 20 items to the fitting rooms, there was no attendant to be found. All the doors were closed with one that had a reserved sign on it. I almost walked in on somebody because I was just guessing which ones were open and it was super awkward. We went to the register where a woman was standing behind the counter doing something and asked if the other fitting rooms were unavailable (they were blocked off by a clothing rack) and she just said "those are closed" with the most annoyed look on her face. Ooookkkk....? We know that, "the other ones seem to be full and there is no attendant around, could you check if there are any open please?" Was met with a blank face and "are you kidding me" eyes. She just silently walked to the fitting rooms and opened the door that said reserved on it and gave us this look of "are you stupid??" Wow. I know customer service can be a stressful and difficult job but she was so so RUDE while we were being really nice. I obviously had a lot of expensive items and she could have made a nice sale off of me if she helped AT ALL. I left with no bras and a shaper that I don't love but will do the job. I was rung up by a different woman who acted like she hated her job, well that was fun.... The shoe department was better as I was met with very prompt assistance. Although I couldn't find anything I loved, that was a much better experience than I had 5 minutes earlier and the reason this is 2 stars instead of 1. Wow, get it together, Macy's. read more

My first time at this store, the cashier threw a fit when I pressed no, for donating to the food shelf. She bursted out "really? It's two cents! It's to help people with heart problems!" Which is not true, it's a regular food shelf. She went on ringing us up, then when she handed us the receipt, she looked at it and said "yeah, ten dollars and TWO CENTS" then rolled her eyes. For one, I donate constantly to other organizations - 2nd harvest not being one of them, so what. Two, how rude! It's a donation request, not a requirement. Three, to lie about what the donation is for, is unprofessional and dishonest. This lady was older, had glasses and bright red lipstick - she didn't converse with us much, until I pressed no - at that point, she had a lot to say, clearly. She was not wearing a name badge, so I don't know her name. Also, the men's department is tiny - less than 1/3 the size of the women's department. The men's department is less than 1/3 of the top floor, and women's department is 2/3 top floor and 2/3 the lower level. Awkward. I went here yesterday, for a second time, and had a much better experience. The cashier was polite, professional, efficient, and joked around with us. I'm still unsure of shopping at this location, however. The first experience was not welcoming to a first time shopper. read more

I purchased 2 items at Chanel. I would have liked to try different brands. Nordstrom is accommodating in that way. Also, Macys has a stricter return policy so have to make sure to like a product before buying which is difficult to do in the store lights and mirrors. I used a $25 gift card and then was going to put the rest on Visa debit card. But it didn't work. So i just used the debit card. The lady and manager (that appeared to be more of a housekeeper since she had cleaning supplies) assured me the $25 gift card was still usable. I called the phone number to check the balance and it is not. I only used it at Macy's Chanel. I tried calling the Chanel counter 2 days. Had to leave a message @ Estee Lauder. I needed to return to the store to get a $25 gift card that expires in 60 days! I travel a lot and do not have time to shop. I do not live in the area and do not have time to deal with this headache. If I shop at Macy's again, it will only be for clothes and never makeup or skin care. Update: I realize now that the makeup the lady sold me is the wrong color so I wasted over $113+gas+time that I should have been spending with my mom that had 2 breast cancer surgeries and or my sister who had hernia surgery. I was in between jobs and I don't have money to throw away. If I wanted make up that was the wrong color I could have spent a lot less at Target. I go to Macys/Nordstroms/Sephora to be matched correctly. What should have been a pleasant situation, has turned into a nightmare. Nordstroms has my future business, Macy's does not. read more

This refers to the housewares dept at Ridgedale Macy's. We called to see if a Dyson vacuum was in stock. The lady acted like she was doing us a favor to check. Then she said she'd put it on hold if they had it. Ummmm hello, I need to know if you have it before I hang up!!! They had it. So we drove there to get it. We get there and it's in a box that's been opened and mangled, all taped up, and with someone's shipping information on it. Is this how you sell a $600 vacuum to someone, especially when it's being given as a gift?! It's shameful. When I asked to see a manager, the lady helping us gladly called, but another associate (Bonnie I believe) rolled her eyes and snickered. Last time I checked, it had nothing to do with her - mind your own business. The manager came over, offered us 10% off, which we declined because we refused to give a mangled box as a gift. The whole time we're talking to him, Bonnie is standing there, talking under her breath, shaking her head and snickering still. I'm blown away that an associate would treat someone like that, especially when it has nothing to do with him or her!!!! I've never felt so disrespected and so worthless walking out of a store. What's worse is the manager saw it and did nothing. I asked her to mind her own business and step away. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who acted like she was doing us a favor on the phone and put the mangled box on hold. No wonder Macy's is losing business. It wasn't anything on our part because we were just trying on prom dresses; mind we were only in there for 15 minutes. Not the lakeshore grill but where you can get Starbucks and soup or salad. Mac and cheese, chicken tenders and other things are left out for hours and plastic tasting. Service is horrible. Lady ordering my food walked away from me three times mid order while I was still talking to go talk to another coworker. Guy with apron walked through food service area behind the registers texting. Unsanitary, unprofessional, and rude. They never ask "for here or to go" and always assume for here unless you say so. Soup is way too hot. EDIT: May 3rd : I just got a frozen yogurt and I watched the person use the same spoon for multiple different toppings. The chocolate chip spoon got used for the coconut in my yogurt. I hope nobody visiting anytime soon has a tree nut allergy and has an allergic reaction. read more

The shoe department is a terrible mess. They have an awful system between the back room and the floor. It doesn't matter how frantically the floor staff runs, the back room fails. Eventually, the floor people just get it themselves because the customers are pissed. Also, they usually don't have what you want anyway. What's the point. Go to a different mall first. read more

Let me start by saying I am 5'5" with a slim build--and with limited options for clothing because I am a short asian guy. A few weeks ago, I was at the Macy's in Ridgedale Center looking for a nice suit for an upcoming wedding. I was able to find some that fitted me, but not really at the same time. And again, my size is usually ordered online as they rarely carry the size in store. So in my head, digging through the racks (hard work and time consuming), when and if I see my size, I will grab it. Apparently, this was not okay with an older white lady that works in the men's suits and tuxedo department. She stated that I don't need to pull every item that is in my size as they all fit the same. WRONG, LADY! Not every blazer fits the same. Not every pants fit the same. Not every shirt fits the same. A little annoyed, I stopped looking and went to try the 10 items I found and came out with the two blazers that fitted me. Right away, she comes charging up to me and ask if I plan to purchase the blazers as she will take it from me and keep it up by her register so I can continue shopping. Irritated and not wanting to make a scene, I allowed her to take the jackets from me. After I finished digging through the clearance racks, I asked the lady if I can take the jackets from her because I wanted to check out the boys section before I make any purchase. She told me and I quote, "well, you can come back to my register after you're done in the boys section to make the purchase." Irritated again, I told her that I still want to shop in Macy's and I feel that it would not make any sense if I am done shopping on the first floor to have to come back on the second floor to her exact register to make my purchase. She denied my request and refused to give the jackets to me. Blood boiling in my body, I was so disgusted at her, her personality, and her poor customer service skill that I just said, "whatever" to her and walked away disappointed. I feel targeted because she did not treat the other five-ten customers the way she did me. read more

My last visit to Macy's was truly my last visit. I came in on a mission and with the intent of making a purchase. There was almost no one to help me and the folks that were available were not informed. The area for women's suits was incredibly small, disorganized and was truly a mess. I could not find anything acceptable or in my size. The staff simply shrugged their shoulder when I asked them for help. Was told by a very rude Jessica in the shoe department that my return was over 30 days so I couldn't return the shoes, even though I looked over at the sale rack and there were many other sandals for sale on the rack. I even had my receipt. She supposedly said she talked to a manager.
