My husband and I like colonies and perfumes and we always try to cook with Beth she is an excellent help every year in the last 5 years we just want Beth to show us lobque we want in fragrances. she is amazing she can serve several clients at the same time without losing sight of you not making you feel under pressure she allows us to take our time finding the fragrance that will go home with us. I think Macys is having trouble finding employees. They aren't alone in this. Yet there eventually is going to be changes, and not sure if easy answers. Technology could help with self checkouts perhaps, although that might irritate some consumers. The folks here who do work are excellent. It's not their fault, and always have found service here good. Sales aren't what they used to be. Admittedly we are in an era of inflation. I also wish they have more active men's clothing. Still they are great for colognes, suits, and quite often dress shoes. Macys is probably the best department store. If you're in the area this works. read more

I just had the most frustrating experience I have ever had shopping, at this store. I spotted a 65% off sign at a Disney princess stand. There was no "exclusions" and no indications if the sign was referring to 1 product or the whole stand. So I approached a couple of associates that were close to the area and asked which items were 65% off. The first one said she didn't know and the second one offered to walk back with me to the sign and check it out. After reading all the letters and numbers on the bottom of the sign she told me the sign was for the whole stand and it would reflect on the check out. I was really excited, so I called my 8 years old little sister and let her pick whatever she wanted (65% off, right?). She picked about 10 different toys and I selected a few more for myself and to give out as Christmas gift. I spent about 40 minutes selecting merchandising to buy. When I took it to the register, I was glad who was going to assist me was going to be the first associate, who heard my question and maybe the answer I received from the second one. When I handed the products to her and asked about the 65% off, she was incredibly rude, and said "the other girl doesn't work for me and she doesn't know what she is talking about" because only dresses were on sale and not toys. Well, why didn't she tell me the correct information in the first place then? She let me spend 40 minutes inside the store, selecting over 15 products only to tell me later, it wasn't a part of the sale in a very disrespectful and humiliating way, like I was supposed to know the prices. At the moment I was so chocked at the way she was talking to me that I just left the store, without questioning if Macy's wasn't supposed to honor their signs but thinking about it now, it didn't feel right the way she handle it. read more

The old ladies working here always provide really bad service , especially the saleswomen work at coach counter named Patricia and the old manger with blond short here wear a glass. They said why they treat customers rude and cold is because they work here over 15 years. They always give customer anger and poker face, and use cold and aggressive voice. We are coming here for shopping, we are not your prisoner, there is no reason for you to talking to customers like that. This was my first time coming to this Macy's. I usually go to the Burlington Mall location. Since I was coming for the special Biggest Sale of the Year, I came for the tax-free savings. The Home/Appliance department was nicely organized. The staff was very nice. They helped me find special products, held my items by the cash register, and it was a speedy checkout process. I even found a couple clearance stuff for 40% off! Brett, my ringer up guy, had everything under control when a trashy lady tried to cut me in line. She still ended up resting her obese self on the register desk while I got my stuff checked out. A little awkward, but Brett was good and still gave me great service! He packed up all 6 bags and had someone help me carry it to my car. Fantastic service! Getting there early at 8am might have something to do with my experience, but I would go early again any day! read more

I'm conflicted. I mean, Macys isn't quite as pricy as I used to think, there's plenty to see, the petite's department is great, the staff is courteous and helpful... How hard is it to update your dressing rooms? I stepped into the dressing rooms in the ladies department and was thoroughly grossed out. Peeling wallpaper, dim, flickering lights, suspicious stains all over the walls, carpet, dressing room stall seats...some doors didn't even lock properly. It was gross and in desperate need of an overhaul! However, not too far away in the petite's department the dressing room was far more tolerable and looked like it was from a different store! Don't misunderstand me--it wasn't classy, clean, or comfortable by any means, but in comparison to the ladies department it was superior. I want to come here more often to shop for clothing, but the dressing rooms make it a pretty unpleasant experience because of how dim, squishy, and dingy they are. I'd be so happy if they updated them because it's the only qualm I have with this location. read more

Awful. I should not be harassed by the cashier because I do not want to open up a credit card or participate in a presale. I should not have to explain myself once I say no. I get it, you work on commission to open credit cards but there are plenty of places I can shop and not feel harassed. Then when I say no, the other cashiers chime in. First of all I don't want to wait for the approval because I am in a rush, second, having too many open revolving credit accounts negatively impacts your credit score regardless of income status. My husband and I were shopping at Macy's in the Pheasant Lane Mall, Nashua NH, on 6/14/2019. We were purchasing two suites for upcoming events for my husband, in addition to shoes, shirts, ties, and many other items. Lucky for us, we were assisted by the BEST salespeople I have ever dealt with in ANY of Macy's departments! I cannot express enough how wonderful Erica, Rich, and Bill were to work with. Together they happily assisted us in every way possible! I purchased this shirt for many years, I used to throw them away when they started getting dingy and looking old. They never fell apart. Now after two or three washings they are getting so thin they start to fall apart elbows break through etc. I do not mind paying a premium for a good product like they used to be. Now it is a premium price and low quality. Do not waste your money on these shirts. It is a $10 shirt with a $69.50 price tag. After 40 years of shopping in Macy's I'm rethinking where I will bring my business. read more

I'd like to say "if you've been to one Macy's, you've been to them all". However, that's not entirely true. Somehow, each one appears to be slightly frumpier then the last. Either the general public is a group of ravenous wolverines tearing clothing from racks with wanton abandon, OR...(and much more likely) the staff here ceased caring about anything at all a very long time ago. The prices are fine to a little high. Quite frankly, they would have a much higher rating if they had self checkout and put everyone else to work keeping the place tidy. read more

Just a head's up to anyone shopping at Macy's who is encouraged to apply for their Macy's American Express Card upon purchase and receive 12 months of interest free payments on their purchase. We purchased a king size bed and bedframe in October of 2019. My husband applied and was approved for the credit card. Upon receipt of first bill, I immediately set up our payments online to be sure every month was paid to take advantage of 12 month interest free. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that we had indeed been charged interest every month and after contacting Macy's several times since October of 2020, we at first were passed over to other departments, claiming it was their responsibility, and finally being told it would be "looked into" and we would should contact them back in 2 weeks. We did, and were told that they didn't have a record of any of this and then we went through the entire runaround again, and were told that we should see it rectified within one billing cycle. We waited and nothing, contacted Macy's again and were basically sent through the same runaround and told again that we should see it rectified in the next billing cycle. Here we are, January 2021, I just spoke with them again and once again was given the response, it can take one to TWO billing cycles. Clearly this is not going to resolve without us reaching out to other venues to help resolve this situation. DO NOT TRUST MACY'S TO STAND BEHIND ANYTHING! We will never do business with them again, but we WILL get what is owed to us regardless of what avenue we have to take. read more

This is specifically about the Shoes Department. Walked in on a Wednesday afternoon. Not busy at all. Ready to buy Steve Madden boots that were $109,00. Two ladies working didn't even say hi, were wandering around. A lady finally came to me and asked if I was "going to buy anything".. I told her I wanted to try on the boots, she takes forever to bring them out and only gives me one boot!!! She held on to the other boot. I was ticked...walked up to her gave it back and told her she just lost a $100 dollar sale. and she said "are you sure you don't want to buy them?" gosh. Rude, rude, rude. Probably because I was dressed down in jeans and a hoodie and had a ponytail. Went back the next day after work, dressed in business attire, and got a different service. Went to the physical store the next day to return them.The cashier at the shoe department gave me an accusatory look and asked me if I had worn them. I said to try them on to see if they fit. She was very rude about it.The store itself doesn't have much to offer. I visit this location over a dozen or so times a year. I expect around Christmas time for the store to be chaotic and in disarray however, year round this store is always a complete mess. It is cluttered and dingy and has a dirty feel to it when you walk in. It is nearly impossible to find an employee for help and when you can he/she is more times than not rude and crass. I'll stick with Amazon. Big box retailers continually blame their bad financial results on the Amazon effect. Perhaps they should STOP worrying about Amazon and pay attention to their own business to fix what is in desperate need of fixing! read more

Went to look for a suit about two weeks ago. Found a nice suit that was on sale so I picked it up while I looked for a better deal. I kept the suit and didn't wear it, tags on and everything. Went in earlier today to return my suit, since I had found a different suit at JCP for a better price and the man who worked in suits accused me of wearing my suit. When I wasn't looking he took mints out of his pocket and placed them on my pants and told me I must have worn them or where else did the mints come from? Give me a break. And furthermore unless I'm misunderstanding the return policy if the tags are on and the suit is in new condition it can be returned in 30 days with a receipt. And who wears a suit with tags on it? It didn't make sense. He knew he was wrong and let me return the suit but the process was infuriating. Maybe this man is not representative all Macy's employees but I was not impressed to say the least. read more

I like shopping at Macy's, but I am going to stick to the one in Bedford. I have had two very bad experiences with the Pheasant Lane Mall Macy's. I went to buy nylons on my lunch break, and I went to four different cashiers and they ALL told me they could not ring me out. WHY? One said she was busy doing something else. The other three didn't give a reason and suggested I go to shoes, but shoes was a madhouse and I didn't have all day to wait. I considered walking out with the nylons to see if I could get assistance then (just kidding), but ended up throwing 6 pairs of nylons on the counter and leaving. AND NO.... There is a very good chance that the clothes you buy here have been worn before by a previous buyer and then returned. Macy's just puts them back out onto the floor to be sold again. I would suggest checking the armpits for sweat stains or deo marks that's the best way to tell. Shoes are another one you have to watch out for a good majority of the clearance ones have been worn as well. Check the inside of the sole as well as the outer sole to look for prior use. (Plus sizes) This department is disgusting! Very messy and disorganized. It seems that every rack has at least 10 different styles on it. You try to hone in on what you're looking for, but soon give up as there is no organization AT ALL! I have shopped at many other Macy's stores in the past and many of my clothes were bought at Macy's; I have no problem with their brands. But the Nashua NH store is not worth the trip if you're looking for Women's Plus sizes. Apparently this demographic of shopper is not important or valued! Also, why is this department the only women's clothing on the 2nd floor (except for lingerie)? Are we not good enough to be on the same floor as the smaller sizes? I went to Macy's this tuesday and had the worst experience I have ever had at any retail store... After I was done shopping I proceeded to go to the register and waited just like everyone else. The line wasn't very long to begin with so at this time there was only one person in front of me and one person behind me when a lady(with no name tag) came up to the line and rudely looked me and my friend up and down and then looked at the lady behind us and asked her if she was allset with her things and told her she could check her out at another register. I wouldn't of cared if she had just taken the other customer and checked her out but it was the look that she had given us like we weren't good enough to be there, I have never felt so unwanted and disrespected at a store like this before. I checked out and ended going back to the department to get that lady's name, I then asked another associate who was working in the same department as I pointed to the the rude lady asking her name and she then tried to tell me she didn't know her name and couldn't give it to me so at this point I just left the store. I called shortly after we left just to talk to the manager about my bad experience there not wanting this to happen to anyone else. When we first called we were hung up on and then they said that they would call us back as soon as they could... I waited 24 hours and never got a call back. I did finally get a hold of someone today a lady named Trish who was very nice but really felt like she did nothing about the situation... End of story I will never go back to that store nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. read more
