Went in to pay my bill. Woman at the kids counter is chatting with a coworker who leaves when we walk up. As im telling her why Im there, she gets on the phone to call another coworker right there in the store! As we are waiting, she still talks and when i ask for help she tells her coworker to hold on while giving us a look for interrupting her. Really?! I was looking for a $400 MK purse for my fiancé. No one asked if I needed assistance so I asked a lady in fine jewelry. She directed me to a lady in customer service located in the center. She was busy helping a lady size a watch, but knew why I was waiting. I asked two other ladies at a customer service station by the exit of Macy's for assistance but they said they didn't have a key. This place was dead at 4pm on a Tuesday, and 3 of the 4 ladies were just standing in their station. You're telling me only one person can access this magical key? All I wanted to do is buy a birthday gift. The lady by the exit recommended I try the other lady in the jewelry section and if that didn't work, come back and she'll try. Have been treated like a lowlife in this store(makeup section) i will never go there again. The employee with dark hair needs help with her attitude. She literally stood next to me the whole time i was trying to buy a lipstick was there 30 min. And there were a few other women not treated the same. Seems like stereotype. Store has limited selection of Men's wear, seems to cater to very old and boring or immature men who never grow up. Nothing of actual good fashion, just overpriced lower end of main brands. Macy's 'Macy's Money' is also kind of a scam, they issue it and then tell you it's not valid. Then you're frowned upon as if you're a thief trying to scam them! Okay, it's small. I get it. However, look around. This is Redding, for heaven sakes. Overpriced? Maybe, if you don't buy during sales and use coupons. I have found lots of quality clothing for a pittance. The salespeople have always been helpful and the store is clean, I knocked off a star because it is my understanding the temperature inside the store is controlled in Ohio and sometimes it's sweltering hot, both in the summer AND winter. First off, only escalator in Redding! Second, great selection of high quality clothes. They have kids, women and men's clothes as well as kitchen and house supplies. I bought a comforter here for a great price on sale and have had no issues with it. Staff is friendly and store is very well kept. read more

Macy's in Redding Ca does not have a furniture department. Try to order online; Redding is considered a "remote delivery area" subject to higher delivery fees. Having a $300 bed frame delivered is $239. Crazy! Anyway, no point in keeping a Macy's card. read more

I went to Redding for a funeral and I forgot to pack decent clothes for the service. The funeral was at 11:30 AM and the store opened at 10:00 AM. Needless to say that I was desperate for a pair of slacks and dress shoes. I rushed up to the men's department and met Stephen. Understanding that I was in a desperate hurry, he quickly found the slacks and shoes that I needed. Not only did he find what I needed in a hurry, the slacks and shoes were stylish. I want to write this review, and I will try to be as fair as possible, We have been Macy's customers for over 20 years back in Orange County California at The Orange and Brea's Malls, I have nothing but good things to say about these two stores , but here in Redding at the Shasta Mall nothing but bad experiences with the sales associates at the register. i guess it might be because of ethnicity, The sales associates, just didn't want to honor Macy's coupons presented by us so we didn't get the extra 25% discount on top of the marked sales price on the display racks. The coupons red as follows. WED, MAR. 9-SUN,, MAR. 13, USE THIS EXCLUSIVE PASS DURING MACY'S VIP SALE & GET EXTRA SAVINGS. EVEN ON THE DESIGNERS THAT RARELY GO ON . ON SALE EXTRA 25% OFF. This was the 3rd time we were denied the benefit of the discount, We were very upset and decided to call Macy's customer service and ask for corporate's phone number to file a complaint, it was not necessary to call corporate, because a very polite woman on the phone was able to help us out and she credited a refund right on the spot. In general Macy's is a great store to shop from, great sales and great quality, BUT I infer some of the sales associates may have problems either with ethnicity, ethics, or outright poor training, she out flat made her on the spot policy of not honoring these coupons. I give one star to this lady for her customer service, but a 5 stars to Macy's for its great sales and merchandise quality. SO DON'T BE VICTIMIZED.... next time you get one of these VIP sales coupons. read more

This review is for the MAC counter, I went in a few months ago and purchased a foundation unfortunately it just was too dark for me, I had the foundation for maybe a month and I finally had the time to go back and see if I can return it and I honestly didn't get the answers I was hoping for I had 2 girls tell me that the return policy had changed so they no longer could accept returns, fine okay, but when I asked what I can do because the foundation was just too dark for me, not kidding they said I could mix my foundation with my every day moisturizer.. orrr I could put concealer underneath it to blend it ??... I honestly had to ask for everything I needed, I was very disappointed to with the customer service.. I would have purchased a new foundation for that matter but at that point I just felt discouraged so I just left and haven't been since then.. I never return anything I but now I'm stuck with a 30 $ foundation I'm never going to use .. very disappointed .. read more

I will shop at the San Francisco Macy's and the Macy's in Manhattan (it is a historical landmark after all) but other than that I take my money where the customer service is. This Macy's is a JOKE! You literally can walk in one door and see through to the other side of the store, I refer to it as the fake Macy's. I have shopped this store quite a bit for years. After all, it is one of the very few major clothing stores in the entire town. Now, they have an extended makeup selection. The problem? Because it is right next to the mall entrance, you will be approached by no less than 3 overly-friendly employees after they let you browse for approx. 2 min. There is so much to see that it is a distraction from me purchasing something. No I don't need help every 2 min. I'm trying to find something to buy while attempting to view the options that I have. It has always been weird which is why I try to AVOID the makeup section at Macy's all together when I'm there. I now prefer to browse online for the same stuff so that I don't have someone hovering over me while I look at things. If they are THAT worried, they should move the makeup counters to a different part of the store. Better yet, if I steal something, send mall security to tackle me to the floor! Always very helpful service, even to find me a pair of shoes whose size they don't have, but exists in another Macy's; they order that pair for me. read more

She made me feel more than perfect. She let me know all of the advantages and disadvantages of different make ups! I also let Maria know I would be starting isotretinoin that my doctor prescribed me which would help with acne, but will make my skin very very dry. She knew exactly what would work on my face. I purchased Mac mineralize moisture SPF 15 the foundation, liquid and powder, I also bought Mac mineralize skin hydrating mist. Since iv been using it, my face hasn't been oily, or dry, it's just perfect. I have also notice my acne has gotten slightly better, and I haven't even started isotretinoin yet. I am more than happy with my purchase! I live about an hour and a half away, I just went to redding to follow up with Lithia about my car and stopped at the mall. But in the future I will ALWAYS purchase my make up from Mac IN MACYS IN THE REDDING MALL. I have always used sephora make up but it always made me break out. Mac is also cheaper. So thank you so much Maria for making me feel like $100!! I will deff be back. Best customer service I have ever gotten!! This location needs to hire people in the juniors department that actually want to work. They also need to order sizes more often. My daughter has not been able to find her size at this location on 3 separate visits. Last week we were told by an employee that since they didnt have her size in stock they could order it online and have it shipped it to our house for free! Which was great, but the shirt didn't fit. We went to exchange it for a smaller size today. The cashier first said it wasn't in stock, didn't offer to do anything else. I asked if it could be ordered. She told me Tennessee had one. Then asked if I wanted to get it from there. I said sure. She asked for my macys or debit card for shipping. I told her i was told shipping would be free since its not in stock. She said she couldn't do that then asked her coworker. Her coworker said "They" don't like them to give free shipping but would do it this once. Another frustrating experience ay this Macy's location. I won't get started on the clinique counter lady. Let's just say I stopped trying to buy foundation there after being ignored by the same lady 3 separate times. It's much easier to buy clinque at ULTA. read more
