After receiving them, I realized I need a different size. When I tried to reorder the correct sizes just a few days later, I noticed the price had increased to $167 each. I contacted a representative and was told that a price adjustment could not be made for the new transaction. However, since I am only exchanging for a different size--not making a new purchase--I believe the original price should still apply. I have gone to Macy's throughout my life. My mom and grandma loved shopping at department stores, so I am very familiar with how they usually look. I was sad to experience this Macy's location. Sadly, it reminded me of Ross Dress for Less. The third floor was disorganized and appeared unkempt. Items were mislabeled with different prices. While the service was friendly, the manager definitely needs to hire more people to keep the store looking like a department store instead of a discount store. read more

While I was excited to shop at this Macy's because I miss that true department store experience, even Macy's seems to be struggling. On every floor, it was difficult to find employees, and dressing rooms are closed in some areas due to the lack of employees working here. The home section had a lot of very bare areas. The women's area did not seem to have much product, so what was there was very spread out. I felt like I was walking into a bargain basement Macy's, as some areas were deeply discounted, but there was no signage anywhere near the rack stating this. However, racks right next to them were full price items. Many things were very disorganized, and finding someone to ask about sizes or products, can be very challenging. This location also has an area called Backstage, which is like a clearance area for Macy's clearance. This area can be hit or miss depending on the day you visit. I found some great deals on washcloths, but many of the clothes were not really worth looking through. If you have spare time and you are downtown, this is a great place to browse. However, if you are looking for that old school department store experience, you won't find that here. read more

Living so close to this location, I rather drive to the one inside fashion place mall. Last time I came here I parked in the Macy's parking garage and a weird individual was playing the accordion on the bed of the truck. It made me nervous because he was just watching people get out of their cars and maybe he breaks in them? Idk it's hard to trust anymore and everything sus bothers me. I let customer service know that security should go check it out but he was quick to brush me off to mall helpers which none were at the table so I went back and told him that I wanted to shop and not b worried about my car so if they could just check it out? Not waiting for a response I made my way to home furnishings where no selection of dishware could be found. Also the bathroom towels were not great. Nobody to help me btw. So I rushed down to my car where our musician had disappeared and my car was still in tact. No inventory I'm any section of the store besides backstage. The markdowns aren't that incredible either. This store in the city creek mall was larger than I expected! Many floors to browse. I saw some amazing deals around the luggage and horse ware stuff. I snagged like 5 candles that smelled amazing and appear to be high quality. Some for as low as $4.98! They have some decent clearance sections also. Near the checkout area there is all kind of stuff available, from wireless headphones to fancy hand soap. I happened to find a back massager for only $3.98, I love a good deal! The employee who helped us at checkout was kind and efficient. There were quite a few employees around the store, but only one at the register which was interesting to me. read more

Do not place orders at this store. Order from the website online. I have been a very loyal Macys customer for years. I rarely shop in the store but since I was on a business trip in area I popped in. I saw an item I liked and was looking for it on the website so that I could order and not have to worry about damaging it in my suitcase. The sales person suggested I buy the item in the store and have it shipped. This was a great idea so i thought. I asked for a tracking number and she told me to just contact the store for an update . I was given a receipt and was lead to believe everything was processed and I would have my item arrive by the time I got back to my home state in a few days. A week later and no shipment. The store is giving me the run around. I have called every day for the past 3 days and still nothing is resolved. I shop at Macys for the stellar customer service that has always been incomparable to other department stores. This experience has really questioned my loyalty to the brand. 7/31 update. So I called 7/27 7/29 7/30 and 7/31. Worked with Jasmin a department manager the first 3 days with no result. She called me back once just say she had not done anything because the computer was down think that was 7/29. 7/31 I called again got another manager Bryan. He acknowledged my concern and was very empathetic. He took my name and number said he would go to his office and research. Called me back in less than 10 minutes gave me a tracking number and my delivery date. I was able to verify it was with UPS. THANK YOU BRYAN for being customer obsessed and implementing urgency. I am disappointed that I ordered this item on 7/24 and it was not mailed until 7/26. I get packages within 2 days when i order online. Feedback to management This is something you should share with your customers. I have been in sales and I know how commission works. I am happy to let an associate get credit for a purchase when they helped me with my selection. But give your customer the right expectations and set up a follow up call to provide the tracking number. A customer should not have to call in and get the run around. A customer should have more confidence in a real person experience over the app. My confidence will remain with the app. read more

They charges me $25.00. When I questioned it, the kid ringing me up said, it must have been put there by mistake. Really helpful! I wanted to buy some men's fragrance. My feelings for City Creek notwithstanding (meh), they came through for me the other night. Yes, it's a beautiful, bright store as an anchor to a large shopping center, but it was the staff that really made the difference. We were shopping for shoes, and in the clearance area it's all about having someone who can help you out. They put out just one shoe, and the staff needs to grab its mate for a full trying on experience. The fella there was not on top of us like, breathing down our necks, but was very much on top of the service. He came by to check, grab a shoe, then again, another shoe, and boom, we found a winner. Add in a bit of dry wit and it makes for an all-around victory. All of this, as well, happened near closing time but I didn't feel shooshed out at all. Other than that, you really know what to expect from Macy's, right? It's a big ol' department store with shoes and active wear and nice clothes for men and women. It's pretty reasonably priced, though much more than I tend to pay for clothes. I'm not the right guy to ask, though, as I do most of my shopping at thrift stores and vintage shops. I've shopped at Macy's for years and was under the impression they had a favorable return policy . The shoe department is managed by Jasmine who is extremely unhelpful and was eager to push me back to the store where I purchased from which was out of my way. I purchased a pair of Steve Madden's less than a week ago and felt like they must've been damage because they were extremely painful to wear I have plenty of pair of Steve Madden's and had the correct size I didn't understand what the issue was with the shoes. I explained this to Jasmine and Gabby but I was not being heard I was only offered a small percentage of $96 I was asking for store credit of the full amount. I didn't think that was unfair I honestly just felt like they didn't want to deal with me i'm not even sure Gabby was her name because she didn't have a badge on but that's what she told me. I asked for the corporate information she directed me to the website she was rude and short, for a better experience stay away from this department. I called due to a complaint and was randomly transferred to this store in Utah, from California. Macy's 27/4 was very unprofessional and unkind towards me. Which was a ongoing situation unresolved. Dakota answered the phone, listens to my situation and is willing to help. This marks the first person willing to do so! "Help me and listen to my situation of not finding anything in two stores, which I was told that the other store 1hr more away from us would. Kelly is professional and gets on the phone, calls me back and was a manager!! People like this need to be recognized and promoted so others know what the standards are. Macys has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I placed an order online, and it's not what I expected. That's fine, it happens. So I reach out to the customer service phone line - NO ANSWER. I try to chat -NOT AVAILABLE DURING COVID, WTH??? so you can fulfill an order but you can not actually HELP a customer. REDICULOUS! Then I reach out via Facebook. I get an automated message asking how they can help. I explain what is needed. 3 days later, they FINALLY respond stating they will help me as soon as possible. It has now been 2 weeks. The staff is friendly but I have two issues with this Macy's: 1) it is supposed to be the flagship location in UT but the Woman's section (aka plus size) is lacking in dresses for anything other than work and 2) the bathrooms are always disgusting and on more than one occasion smelt like the latrine at camp! Macy's has never impressed me and today it just worsened my opinion going there again. A certain girl *cough* Mishma *cough* what being very short and rude to my mother while she was trying to return a shirt Mishma had my mom order. I was really surprised by her attitude and my mother telling me she was rude when she ordered the shirt. The girl is very pretty and looks kind but the attitude completely turned me off and she made me very upset and sad watching someone treat my mother like this on my birthday (today). I hope that Mishma sees this and maybe works on her attitude and realizes how much more fun work can be if your attitude is more positive. Was in the men's department today and my husband was looking for a jean size. We were walking and an associate was walking toward us. My husband said "excuse me, I have a question" the guy kept walking so we turned around and said "do you work here?" His response was "I just clocked out I can't answer any questions." What??!! So then, take off you name tag!! Or give good customer service and answer the question then take us to an associate who is on the clock!!! I thought that was really bad customer service!! In here again to get my husband's new watch sized. We were told by Lana and a manger that they couldn't size it because they aren't trained in sizing bulova watches. I purchased the watch there! If you sell a product and offer free sizing then the staff should be trained right?? So apparently they send people to a jeweler and reimburse for the cost...but that jeweler is closed for the next few days. So not only are we inconvenienced by having to go to another place, but we have to wait and then go back to city creek to be refunded and even then I wonder if they will give us a hard time. What a surprise, another Macy's location with unfriendly staff. Returned an online shoe purchase here this morning and cashier seemed so put out that he had to do it. No please, no thank you, etc. I actually wanted to try on/purchase shoes as well but no one approached me to offer help and it looked like everyone had disappeared. Many of the shoes I picked up looked like that said 'only pair' or listed one or two (small) sizes that were left available. So, quite a few reasons not to shop in store, or at least this particular store. read more

Do NOT order furniture from Macy's! I ordered furniture in January knowing it would take up to 2 months. Received it in March - something was wrong with all 5 pieces. Reordered it. Thought they'd have to do better the second time, right? Received the new furniture about 2 months later. It was worse than the first time. One cushion had piping on it - a totally different style than the others. Plus there were scrub marks on the corners. Decided to return it. They WERE supposed to be here on Tuesday (10/12). I got the notification that they were coming in the morning. Around noon I called customer service. After being on hold for over an hour (they'd check in every once in a while to "update" me) the supervisor said the delivery company wasn't answering their phone calls. He sent an email and told that he would call me back and let me know what was going on. Well, he never called back. Called today and the soonest they can pick up my defective furniture is 10/26. I have new furniture waiting to be delivered. I just want this out of my house and never have to speak to anyone at Macy's again. read more

Macy's is a chill place. It's not quite Nordstroms, but you also don't quite pay Nordstrom's prices either. So it works out. This location specifically is probably the most top of the line Macy's in Utah. It's the newest, widest range of selection, most staff available to help you check out, and most up to date fashions. Most of the things I just said don't matter to me personally as I shop for clothing maybe once every three years...but I'm sure that means something to someone. You'll spend 75 dollars or more on jeans if you come here...just a heads up. read more

So this place is much bigger than other locations which gives it a plus in my book. (Avoid the Brickyard location and just go to the City Creek location.) The location is nice, parking is easy, and validations for parking are given. The only drawback is that it is a Macy's store... so not on the cutting edge or anything but a good solid place to start for traditional clothing, housewares, etc. read more

Listen, I ordered 2 pairs of shoes online. I had it shipped to the store and I was notified when it was ready for pickup. I so get there (looking kinda really bad bc I just got off work.) and none of the employees even look at me. I look very lost looking for the online pick up desk. When an employee would look at me they would immediately look away. Probably bc I looked a mess and too poor for the store. Haha well, I finally find the desk and I was created by a lovely older gentleman. He got my items and I noticed one of the pairs weren't correct. THEY SENT THE COMPLETELY WRONG SHOE. I hate this Macy's so much. The sales associates are ignorant and rude. My first experience was when my family and I were going to the kitchen section to view some olive dispenser (something of that sort) a sales associate asked if we needed help finding something and we said no at first because we thought we were okay. A few minutes later my dad did have a question to ask and mind you the sales lady was 5 feet away from us and said "excuse me, I actually do have a question" my dad has a loud and deep voice so you can clearly hear him. The lady walked off and pretended she didn't listen. AGAIN, my dad says "hey I have a question" and she still ignores him. At that point my dad looks at me and I go after the lady and I'm pissed now because she was ignoring us. Told her we needed assistance with the olive dispenser then she has the audacity to tell me "let me look for it in the back, but don't follow me because I don't want to show you where they are" MA'AM I AM ASKING YOU WHERE THEY ARE SO WE CAN SEE OUR OPTIONS. She irritated me so much I ended up giving her attitude. Eventually she showed us where they were and walked away. The second experience here, was also in the kitchen section. My mom was looking at some blenders so my siblings and I decided to just walk around, as we're walking I noticed the cashier girl following us and staring at us down. I felt super uncomfortable so I decided to sit down on one of the beds they had. My mom was also sitting down there, the cashier girl then begins to keep an eye on my sister and brother. And they eventually sat down w us, it was just an uneasy experience and after that the cashier comes and tells us that were not allowed to sit on the beds. Well you could've told us that before we sat there for 30 min! Overall, Macy employees are hostile and I understand w the bed that they may have policies in place but at least put a sign on the beds not to sit on them. read more

***ALL STUDENTS PLEASE BEWARE*** Terrible working experience to say the least. Been working at this location for 5 months and it's been all but good. I'm a student and I expressed my importance for my classes as well as stated my schedule requirements prior to the hiring process completion. To which I was told "No problem" fast forward 4 months I'm hit w/ -points because they claimed they were unaware of this. I worked my way up to 4th store sales as well. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. I find out that multiple NEW employees were given raises as well as promoted to which I then question the management and was told to have a meeting. Before I can schedule the meeting I'm told at the end of my shift that "due to my unexplained absences, I'm terminated" to which I respond "how is that even possible" and it was explained to me that I had been accumulating -points for EVERY DAY I went to my night class (WHICH THEY WERE INFORMED OF PRIOR TO HIRING ME) Now I'm currently tasked w/ the duty of finding another job A WEEK BEFORE THANKSGIVING. Because of a company who could care less about their employees WELL-BEING and only about its numbers and fulfillment task. All in All if you're a student I wouldn't trust them in regards to scheduling because as their actions proved they don't gaf. read more

Just moved to Salt Lake City. The CW and So.Town Macy's are more like what I would expect at a TJMaxx or Marshalls, when it comes to most women's clothing. Who is the buyer??? The children's department (6X and under) are more fitting for street walkers. Again, who is the buyer??? Coming to CITY CREEK for the first time was a nice surprise. More name brand and a nicer children's department like I use to find in TX. Even there in the past 5 yrs. continually went downhill in clothing selection. I'm excited to see what the new Fashion Place store will carry in brands once it opens in 2017.. PLEASE, AT LEAST GIVE US O N E MACY'S THAT CARRIES SOME DECENT BRANDS TO SHOP.
