I realize we are very close to the holidays but customer service is pretty much non-existant. I had purchased a sport coat from Macys.com because they never stock the size I needed in store. Once I had the coat I took it to the Valencia Macys for a shirt or sweater or something to go with it. A young lady in the CK section made some recommendations but none of what she mentioned was in her area so I went to men's formal wear. Like one other reviewer I finally tried standing in one place looking lost and was still totally ignored. I did manage to corner one of the staff who couldn't make any suggestions so he passed me to someone else. She was even worse with just general suggestions. No color recommendations, nothing. Walking back through the mall I spotted Banana Republic. Excellent choice! Andrew (I think) was very helpful and had many different recommendations And color suggestions. It's true. This is the most disorganized Macy's on planet earth. Even little ol' Bakersfield's is better. Brands and sizes are all mixed up. Hard to find anything, mostly because it's never rearranged. You have to drift around the whole store to find items. Hard to find staff to help, they always say they can't assist. It needs better management. They should visit the South Hills store in Pittsburgh to see how a Macy's should be run. And question: why is it that you never see normal stock moved onto the sales racks? The sales stock seems to be TJMaxx castoffs. read more

This review is specifically for a mattress that I bought at this store and Macy's jacked-up return policy. My husband and I purchased a Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Gentle Mist Firm Tight Top Queen Mattress Set. We wanted a firm mattress, but what we received was a rock HARD mattress. This mattress was so hard that it felt as though we were sleeping on a concrete floor with a yoga mat as our cushion. Macy's says that their mattresses require a "break in" period, but the mattress was so uncomfortable that it was truly impossible to sleep on it, so we gave up after a terrible sleepless week. Now here is the really irritating part: not only does Macy's charge you a delivery fee ($80), they also charge you a restocking fee ($117) and a return delivery fee ($80). So we ended up spending $277 just to give this crappy, sore-back-inducing mattress back to them. I will NEVER buy a mattress from Macy's ever again. read more

Was in Macy's yesterday, in petite/maternity women's wear, about 11am. After I tried on my clothing, went to checkstand, with other shoppers, and we waited quite awhile, and no one came to check us out????? NO ONE was anywhere in the whole area for any help of any kind???? I went looking for someone to check me out, and after going to different departments, in the surrounding areas, I finally found a manager who helped me. OK, they are remodeling. They are going from every day Macy's to high end Macy's. whatever. I wouldn't even bother yelping a department store were it not for this wonderful incident..... We are upstairs. We have to pee. We ask shoe salesman where restrooms are. OK. We take escalator down and look around. We see sign hanging telling us restrooms are just down the way. We walk allllllll the way to lingerie section past all the blocked off construction plastic sheets and plaster dust. what do we find? Mens restroom. in women's lingerie? yes. admist women's pantied there will be men taking dumps. oh boy. then we ask woman in lingerie and she tells us women's restrooms are one floor up, right above the men's restrooms.... you mean the floor we were JUST on? we have to pee!!! so up we go. and there it is. tucked into a corner, no sign in hall. partially hidden by plastered wall and a hastily stocked sportswear section is the unclean, small restroom. I just have to do this.... I don't shop at Macy's, but a neighbor forwarded the Friends & Family coupon to me. I needed a few pair of women's spandex blend socks, and found them, without any help, in a few minutes. These were not marked "reduced" or "clearance" and certainly appeared to be regular price. When I handed the cashier the Friends & Family coupon, she indicated that they were not eligible for the discount because they were ever day regular price (similar wording). I asked how I would know this, and she indicated that anything that is priced with a .98cents in the price is excluded. When I asked her how a customer would know THAT, she got very haughty and said that the "regular" Macy's customers were aware of this!! Does that mean that a non-regular customer is just ^^#@^& out of luck?? I really don't like this practice of deceiving the public. After 30 years of living in this town, going back to the old May Company, I have never encountered an attitude like this. Or a business practice like this. Last time ever at Macy's for me. STAY AWAY! For some reason, as a kid, I always though Macy's was barely above that of Target. I don't know if they have made changes, but I did notice that their styles have gotten a lot better, and with it their prices. I do have to say that their clothes were pretty disorganized and I had a very hard time finding a shirt in my size, lucky for me though, I have the average body type of a manikin. I bought a shirt off the back of a manikin that a staff member allowed me to remove. I was so happy that they allowed me to do that. Having worked in a Walmart before, I can understand that at the end of the day how things can get pretty hectic and disorganized, however this was worse than a Walmart on a Saturday afternoon. One staff member went above and beyond for me, while the other person I asked for help with disappeared on me. Clothes disorganized, Clean facilities.... this fell short of what I normally expect of a Macy's store. read more

Horrible ! No wonder why this place is super slow and not even busy when it's just around the holidays ! Their cosmetics counter in particular; Estée Lauder is the WORST. They rejected an item I wanted to return when it didn't work out for me. The said it's used. Umm..... yeah I don't like it (being that it's a small face cream which only costed around $90+) I think I should be given the option to exchange or return it for my $ back. Yes, once you buy from the counter and it's used you cannot RETURN HERE. It has to be in new condition! Beware buyers when you buy here at Macy's Valencia ! Different Macy's have different policies?? Yes. Pretty good selection as Macy's goes...especially the shoe department. To be honest, the dress section sometimes leaves a bit to be desired, but honestly, that's true of a lot of Macy's stores these days. This is my favorite SoCal Macy's (after Thousand Oaks). Still happens in 2017... I went to this Macy's because I needed a dress for the next evening. While in the department store I realized I could get some setting spray from here instead of locating a Sephora or make any other stops. I am currently 8 months pregnant and had my 4 other children with me ages 18months to 7 years. My two smallest in the stroller still. I approached the makeup section in Macy's and went directly to the Urban Decay section thinking great there is only one lady here this should be quick. Ha! Was I wrong, so initially I stand around waiting for her to finish with the customer she has, it's obvious I'm looking to make a purchase though, as I repeated to the kids I just need to get some spray. At the kiosks you have to wait for the sales associate to assist you so it wasn't like I could grab my product and go, after about 5 mins I make my way into the cube now to become more noticeable being that I wasn't acknowledged yet. After standing around for about 5 more minutes the lady finally says oh I love your hair... okay and I'd love to make a purchase... I say thank you, and she carries on like I'm not there. I again patiently wait as my kids are becoming impatient, the youngest is now making a scene... he's tired of sitting in one place. I do my best to calm them as I just want to pay for some setting spray... I honestly know I waited another 15 minutes standing waiting to be assisted... still no help. You'd think it was blatant that I needed to make a purchase as now I have my kids suffering through my wait. After what I'll say is about a 35 minute process I gave up hope angry in a way because I've never had this happen and was confused. So I walked off stating that I couldn't wait any longer and it was very rude. I then decide fine I'll just walk over to the Mac section it was literally empty, and buy a spray there. As I approached the counter, because sprays weren't out as I'd already looked "without help", the lady's just glared at me and turned away as if I were not standing right there. I was absolutely livid at this point and decided I wouldn't waste another minutes of my life there. Walking out I passed several workers doing nothing, as I complained at the lack of customer service in an empty sore, and how it was unacceptable. Not a single person stepped in the help with my situation. Luckily for me Sephora was right outside the mall entrance, and I left and made my purchases there. Where I was greeted like a person acknowledged and helped with my purchase. Also they didn't have any good dresses I may add I wasted a good amount of time for no reason. And the way Macy's been dropping in sales lately you'd think they'd be more attentive to paying customers. I will NEVER shop here again, and I do mean Never! And it's their lost because I love to spend on the things I need! read more

I shop at Macy's often and I would like to recognize Marianne at the origins counter. What a great experience, the best I have ever had. Marianne is personable and sweet and really care about her customer service. I really wish all customer service people were like her. She make you want to come back. You are really lucky to have Mariann as an employee. And then I went to the este launder section and met Shawnty. What a helpful nice person. She was so helpful, and sometimes I'm not easy to please. Wow this place has gone way down hill. I was shopping for a new Coach wallet. Not only did both cashiers not even bother to ask if I needed help but when I'm started causualy browning the clearance bags they came over and started to put them in some kind of order as if I'd messed them up! How rude! Also, they were having a full on discussion about the younger girls partying the night before of drinking and smoking and saying she was also pregnant, joke or not, that's disgusting. I have never felt so uncomfortable Christmas shopping in my life. I was literally followed in the make-up section on the second floor looking for a gift for my sister and noticed this older woman with brunette hair following my partner and I. As soon as we stopped and looked near a section that had products on sale, she marched right next to us, asked if we were looking for anything specific, and stood there NOT FOLLOWING SOCIAL DISTANCING REGULATIONS and stared at us while we were shopping. My daughter and I were shopping today and as we headed into the fitting rooms, an employee said to make sure we bring the clothes we try out of the room and hang up the ones we don't want. I said that we always do and I seemed puzzled by her request so she proceeded to tell me that they are trying to keep the fitting rooms clean. Why is this my problem? Honestly, there usually aren't many people shopping there so it seems to me that the employees should make it a habit to check the rooms occasionally. Macy must be going broke along with Sears. My wife dropped a bracelet while shopping. Realized it when she got home. I tried calling Macy's Lost 'n Found. Computer connected me to Customer Service. Held on hold for way too long. Customer Service never answered. Called back and asked stupid computer to connect me with the exec offices. Exec's never answered. Called back and asked computer for a real person. Real person answered and spent 3 seconds with me before connecting me to Customer Service. They never answered. I had purchased a few shirts from Macy's and when I got home realized that one of the security tags was not taken off and it's one where the ink will spill all over your clothes if you tamper with it. So I had to drive all the way back to get the tag off and they wouldn't even off a discount for the inconvenience. These days with gas costing $3.40 a gallon I don't want to be driving 30 min just for the hell of it and taking time out of my day. Very frustrating. read more

I was helped by Michelle today at the MAC counter and wow. She was the only one there and it got a little busy but she still took the time to give me individual attention and acknowledge everyone else and let them know she would be with them shortly. I was shopping for foundation and for a number of reasons I need something more specific. I can't tell you how many times I've gone foundation shopping and the person helping me just didn't listen. All in all I appreciated he transparency, her genuine qualifying questions, and service. I have worked in a retail management capacity for 9 years and although I now work in Human Resources for a large retailer I know great talent when I see it. Where do I start... I normally go to the bcbg.. section to look for an outfit but dang.. the two girls that I've encountered there... the tall black girl and short dark hair white girl are always gossiping about other employees... I was littering walking around their area for at least 20mins and not one of them stopped their gossiping to say "do you need help" I felt acquired when I interrupted their conversation. On the other hand the older ladies working in the other areas are wonderful.. Macy's get rid of these two girls.. or put them in the stock room.. they are useless on the floor and are giving your store a bad name! read more
