After visiting the Clearwater Macy's, it's "very clear" to us that it's the better location. This Macy"s location has great parking. That's all. The store is old, outdated, it always seems, picked over, not a lot of choices/sizes. Most of all, the service, is clearly very rude. After last visit, the service was so rude we won't be back to this location. When I went to pay, the lady at the register wanted me to give her my phone number, which I declined. Then she wanted me to sign up to the "rewards program" which I declined. She pressured me on it and I repeatedly declined. Then she wanted me to sign up for the Macy's Credit Card which I declined, again, repeatedly. I told her I do not want to be on your email lists. I do not want to give you my personal phone number or personal information for your "discounts." I don't want a new Macy's Credit Card I just want to pay for my items. She was clearly annoyed & gave me clearly, super negative attitude. Which is strange, as she clearly doesn't own Macy's so why does it even matter to her?? All this nonsense about giving your personal phone/info at every store is NOT for DISCOUNTS, it's just to collect your "data" to sell to Big Tech for more surveillance & control. I don't want to be on your "lists" I don't want another app on my phone, I don't want your employees to try to force me to give them my personal info. I do not comply. I will NEVER comply. And I will pay CASH from now on to boot. And I will never return to this location. The Clearwater Macy's is clearly, way way better. OuiOui. I hope I have made myself clear. It smelled from the moment I walked in it was dark there was no ventilation and if somebody eliminated before you get there you're gonna get the benefit of that fragrance while you sit there. I had advised my daughters that when they were buying expensive cologne to purchase it from Macy's because then they could be sure they were getting the real thing. I have made purchases before from online perfume outlets and never had a problem. But I read that these products should always be purchased from a reputable store. One of my daughters bought me an expensive large 6.7 oz, bottle of Dolce & Gabbana light blue eau de Toilette. The scent didn't last more than approx. 10 minutes. The silver coating on the top of the bottle quickly flaked off and corroded. The sprayer popped off 3/4 of the through use. Macy's had to have been ripped off because authentic perfume companies would never allow packaging like that to go through. Hereafter, I'm heading to the online perfume outlets. read more

The ladies in the shoe department were awesome but the perfume/makeup associates ignore you completely and there wasn't really anyone to help us out in the dress department upstairs while the furniture section seemed over staffed. They really need to reorganize/redistribute their employees to provide proper coverage and customer service here. You can find some awesome deals if you are willing to look. My roommate found a formal dress for $18 and heels for $26! However, I didn't have such a cheap bill yet still found some awesome stuff. I got a pair of Michael Kor's heels for $55 that were originally $135, and a dress for it's regular price of $70. But the employees in the shoe department far outshined everyone else we encountered while in the store, mainly because they were there to help in the first place as well as actually engaging with us to find things. There's a lot of disorganization in the clearance section, which can be expected, but the amount of clothes on the floor and precariously placed about made it feel like no once even attempts to keep it under control. It's also not organized by size upstairs in the dress department while at least downstairs there is an attempt made to organize by shoe size in the shoe department. So some areas are fine, others are a nightmare. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I am absolutely horrified by the service that I received. I called the call center located here for service regarding my furniture purchase and the warranty that I paid for. The technician didn't call upon arrival as requested and he wasn't even at my residence for more than 5 minutes. He threw my blankets on the floor and took out a string and didn't even take notes on the concerns I have. I received a message from the call center that said I voided the warranty and that was it. The warranty for the bed and mattress was awful and the value of customer service has gone downhill. I do not recommend anyone buy any furniture from macys at all. The third party provider they use is awful and if you have to buy a mattress just go to Mancini's or another mattress provider. I have been a long time customer but will send macys my cut off American Express card and no longer give them a penny of my business. read more

Update: Since the Macy's American Express card was opened by an employee without my authorization or knowledge, and earrings were purchased by me and placed on this credit card that I canceled as soon as I became aware, I have no way of paying for the earrings. And apparently Macy has no solution on how to pay for something with a closed account. My credit score dropped by 19 points because of this incompetent employee. So I returned my purchase so there would be a zero balance on the closed American Express account. I also closed my regular Macy's account. For almost 3 weeks now I have not gotten this resolved by the Tyrone square Mall executives. Phone calls have gone un answered, voicemails ignored. Emails have gone ignored by the manager Tiffany Backer. There basically is no customer service. My suggestion shop Dillard's. read more

Attention Macy's shoppers! If you would like a great experience, I suggest you visit the Tyrone Macy's. I found a great buy on the "Clearance" rack. I go up to the register to pay and hand Linda a tattered store credit issued on sales a receipt. I couldn't begin to tell you how old it was. But picture this, it was so faded I had written the bar coding numbers on it before it completely faded away. Linda did her best and called in the Calvary. Albert, calling Albert to come the "Inc" register. In a matter of minutes a neatly dress gent came down to help. Albert tried inserting the numbers at that register. It also didn't work for Albert. He went further and took it upstairs. After a short while he came back to get me to come upstairs. There I was introduced to Michael, who was on the phone with Corporate getting instructions how to use the store credit. I was beginning to feel very guilty for all their hard work. Sitting next to Michael was Beverly cheering them on. After a second attempt, Albert successfully processed my purchase and handed me a brand new store credit with some sage advice not to wait so long to use that credit. We all laughed as I said I'd be sure to take his good advice. From there I wandered a bit longer till I found the prefect use for my store credit...Godiva chocolates. I got to revisit Rosa at Customer Service which where I started this adventure to return some items I purchased on line that didn't fit. Rosa warmly warmly greeted me again , rang up the purchase and handed me $1.42 in change. Thank you Rosa, Linda, especially dear Albert going beyond the call of duty, Michael and Beverly. Do you know why macy's stock has dropped 90% since sep 2018 from $41 to $6? Closing 30 stores in 2020, 125 stores in next 3 years. Because this stupid company decided to cut cost by hiring teenagers as store manger, cut staff in departments, so when u buy a mattress from them, they start chasing their tail. not even trying to deliver the mattress to the client. thier furniture department consist of 1/2 of home department, but this kid that macys has hired (for what ever reason) has ONLY ONE GUY working in this department. (commission department). I don't know, may be they are cousins, who knows, what ever it is, I bought a floor model adjustable base set, from him told him I will pick up by wed. / thur.(followed by 3 emails) when I arrived at the store on thur. the mattress was still on the floor ( was not sanitized) was not bagged, and was not removed from the floor. the store manager refused to come and handle the problem, probably she was on instagram or chatting with girlfriend. whatever she was doing, it was not business because business problem was on furniture department and she was far from even been interested to attend to solve the problem. after waiting for an hour at the store ( + paying $75 an hour to movers ) they bagged the mattress without sanitizing it, leaned against the dolly and then the 3 people who were helping, they all disappeared. I stood there for another 30 min and NOTHING no one came back. so there i was spending additional $100, NO mattress, (NOT SANITIZED), ignored by a teenager (STORE MANGER) that I was even there and in fact at that time, I was the only person in the mattress department. I went back to the cashier and demanded refund and cancellation. when i asked for my money back 10 min later this girl showed up, "lets go to there (pointing to a hallway) and talk i am the store manager." i said No. i want my money back, it took you 1 1/2 hours to come down to see what the problem was and all you have to say to me is lets go behind the walls and talk. I was stupid enough not to video this. I am telling it would been a million view in a day. she started to blocking me from going to get my money back. i finally by passed her, she came and kinda run after me passed me and stood 12" away from me, I think she was upset (boyfriend / cousin/ family member ) (the SOLO) sales person of furniture dep. was upset for writing a a refund. she treated me like I was to blame for them not having my purchases ready, sanitized and bagged. she made me feel as unpleasant as possible. and i must say, she was successful. (Next day I went to local mattress store bought a mattress and they delivered same day. ) bottom line I am not sure what was it that this store manager and solo sales person of furniture dep did what they did to me, it could of been my accent, my causal clothing, or they wanted that adjustable bed set for them self or a friend, only they know why they were such a rude, arrogant unprofessional teens. Another horrible experience here and would like to speak with a district manager, not another sales person! Went into the active wear dept. and they have a large sign, 25% off Adidas, asked the salesgirl who walked past just to make 100% sure, she checked and said yes! 25% off, took it up to pay, opened a Macy's card for an additional 20% off, the guy helping me at the register says yes its on sale, then after swiping my license for the Macy's card, says active wear never goes on sale at Macy's? So he rang it up $53.50. The tag says $50 plus 25% off and then an additional 20%, that's 45% off the original $50, so they charge me the full price plus tax of $53 and change. They claim "active wear" is never on sale, so why does it say 25% off? I have no time to take this back, but will be forced to before going to the hospital in the morning and get this over with. They make the simplest things hard, this isn't brain surgery. After this return in the morning, I will never be back, No matter what. I really want to speak with a district manager this is not the first time its happened where a sale was going on and they charged me full price, last time I paid it and never said a word, enough Is enough. I hate pricey, high end department stores. I always feel like I can purchase the exact same article of clothing at a discount store. But since my mom insisted, my partner and I took my gift card and went shopping. The only thing that appealed to me was the clearance sections which was still on the expensive side, but in comparison to the original prices the clothes were a steal. I ended up finding several discounted items, and combined with the coupon the associate gave us, totaled just over $250. Not bad at all. But the thing is keeping an eye out for discounts. Customer service is CRAZY. They work on commission so expect sales associates to flock to you like vultures on a carcass, and depending on the person, will keep checking up on you until you're ready to leave. The woman we had was kinda overbearing but she was nice so I guess it evened out. No one else approached us either so that was good. Fitting rooms weren't too messy - at most there was a lonely hanger in one of our rooms. So overall, OK experience. I think I'll stick to the comfort of my cheap sake stores. read more

I love our Macy's store - UTC Sarasota, Florida. The sales people are friendly and helpful. I love that I can return things easily to the store that are ordered online (hard to fit). In the last year, though, the stock online (haven't been in the store much) is sparse, but I'm sure it's because of Covid. My only huge complaint is that they built a new Macy's in our new upscale mall, and the furniture and housewares depts are pitiful. I would love to buy a sofa and chairs, but I have to sit on them and see the fabric! One of the many things that makes no sense at all!!! And they need more basic women's clothing. read more

I go to this Macy's most because it's only 5 min from my house, however, this Macy's needs updating. The one on Westshore just re-did its purses and shoes departments and they are now HUGE and modern looking. My Macy's needs to do the same. The selection is decent here, I know because I always leave with something, although, I think this Macy's has less brands than the Westshore location. Sometimes the fitting rooms can be a bit messy, but probably because the sales ladies are too busy ringing customers up to clear them out. Watch out, because the ladies that work at this Macy's are commission CRAZY! It's one thing to greet me when I walk in the store, but hounding me throughout the shoe department is a little much. I am one of those people who likes to shop in PEACE! The lady at the shoe department overheard everything I was saying and was right there to chime in with a suggestion or nudge to try them on. It was a little much! Then I overheard other reps in the shoe department complaining about how they weren't getting any sales. Let me look at the shoes and then I will let you know when I'm ready to try them on. You know what I mean? I ended up not buying any shoes in Macy's and heading over to DSW instead. On my next visit, the 2 ladies in the clothing department almost got into a fight about ringing up my sale. The rep actually made the other rep void my sale so she could ring it up, told me they were commissioned based, and then mentioned several times that the other rep was "new." It was very awkward! I felt bad for the "new" rep who was just trying to be helpful. She was at the cashier when I was ready to checkout, but the other lady came swooping in a few minutes later. Really? A very typical Macys store with great deals. They have a ton of merchandise in this store. Everytime I enter the store they have many racks of clearance items. The store is organized and well staffed. Today, the day after Christmas, my return was processed within 5 minutes. The makeup and perfume counters were quick to serve us. I would always shop here with coupons because they are always available. Clean, full of merchandise, and good service. Parking is not too bad. read more

Purchased a mattress and paid almost $4000 for it. Still have not received it. The delivery company they use is horrible. The date we had scheduled received a call from the delivery company telling me the drivers were in my driveway waiting for the rain to stop. I expressed my concern to the lady on the phone that there was no delivery truck in my driveway and it was not raining at my house. She ignored my conversation and proceeded to say that if the rain wasn't over in 20 minutes the delivery would be rescheduled. Anyways no one ever showed up and I had to reach back to reschedule my delivery again and be placed back in line for when the next delivery would be available ( 1 week wait again) with no effort in rushing me and fitting me for an earlier delivery. Oh yeah, the number I initially reached out for reschedule was the one I had received the cancellation from with a representative speaking only Spanish and was hung up on since I don't speak Spanish. No thanks to Macy's for the crappy delivery services. read more

Macys makes it as difficult as possible to make returns, so be careful what you buy. If you bring in a return they'll ask you if you wanna put the refund on a Macys gift card. Don't fall for it! You'll either be spending more than you originally did, or you'll be leaving cash on the table. Here's the real kicker: if the purchase was made by debit or credit, the refund will only be returned to that card. They refuse to give you cash or put in on a different debit card even if you have the receipt and the item still has all of its tags. It's a trap. Never shopping here again. And I'd advise all to do the same. read more

The store is a mess. Plus it smells, is dreary, and feels dirty. They have not upgraded since the early 1980's and most of the merchandise either overpriced as well as dreary. The store at WestShore is better, and could be improved. The new store in Sarasota is very disappointing - not worth the drive over the bridge. read more
