We got a good discount for the train ride on Groupon and I would recommend checking it out before arriving. We paid to feed the bison, not realizing they would give you food for free on the train ride. That was a bit frustrating, but you can add the food they pass around to your bag so you have plenty to give to the bison. Our kids had a fantastic time and it was a lot of fun feeding the bison on the train. I think this is a great activity to do in the area with kids and it was definitely a highlight in our trip. The gift shop was fun to visit on our way out. Highly recommend!

The Terry Bison Ranch is the only place I have ever heard about where you can hand feed Bison. They also have other things to do here. We got here an hour and a half before our train departed and we have plenty to do. They have lots of animals on this ranch from full grown ostriches and baby ones, a long horn cow, plenty of chickens, baby bison that you can pet, lots of horses, goats, and much more. On the ride over to feed the bison, they had a train robbery reenactment which was fun. The whole train ride takes about an hour to make sure to use the restrooms before getting on. It's a great place to bring kids. Prices were reasonable. $20 per adult $10 for kids to ride the train and $10 for bison feed which is a must. They give you a decent amount of food in the bag. No reservations needed you can buy tickets at the general store. There they have plenty of souvenirs to buy and can answer any questions you may have. An easy day trip from Denver. If you are on a roadtrip I'd recommend stopping here if you are heading to Wyoming from Colorado or vice versa.

It appears as though the hotel is out in the middle of nowhere, but that's OK because it's a beautiful property with a pool, a hot tub, and breakfast in the morning. None of which I will take advantage of, because I'm here on business and only for about 24 hours. The young ladies at the front desk could not have been more welcoming, and helpful with information about the area and how to get a cab, which apparently around here you have to reserve in advance. If you are in the area, don't stay anywhere else except the Fairfield Inn at Laramie, Wyoming!

This was my first Fairfield Inn and it turned out to be a great choice! I used the convenient Marriott mobile app, checked in online, and notified the hotel that I'd be arriving early and indicated the time. When I arrived, a room had already been assigned to me and I scored an upgrade to a Studio King suite. I'm not sure what the regular room looks like but the suite is a very functional set up that includes a small living room with a built-in storage unit, large screen tv, love seat, ottoman/footrest/table, desk and chair. There is an excellent floor lamp as well as a high quality desk lamp if you need some extra light to work. Plugs were easy to find. There's a convenient nook with a shelf, mini-fridge, and a microwave. The bed is comfortable, firm, not bouncy at all. Pillows were in good shape and the room was clean. My ac/heater (window) unit did blow pretty hard and there was no way to redirect the air, though the thermostat was quite responsive. So, as for me, I just ended up with a lot of unnecessary lukewarm air blowing around. No prob. Laramie is only about 15 minutes from corner to corner (the Fairfield is located in one of the corners next to the airport.) The drive to the University is easy and routes you around any possible traffic in town - a quick and easy 10 minutes. Friendly, efficient service, free breakfast (which I didn't eat,) plus 24-hour coffee in the lobby (is this a thing at all Fairfields?) I'd totally stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Our recommended place to stay in Cheyenne…read more - - - - - - - - June, 2026 Visit We were in Cheyenne for two nights, for a concert at the Civic Center, and we rightly picked the Fairfield Inn. Nice and comfortable rooms. Great breakfasts. Fantastically friendly and helpful staff. One example of going above and beyond was help from Annie and her husband!! We brought a deflated soccer ball and a hand pump to inflate it... and the hand pump would not work. When I asked if the hotel had one, Annie shared that it does not and that most local car tire pumps can't handle ball needles and she offered, and had, her husband bring their pump, and he did. When I asked him how I could pay back to thank them (their sons came, too), he shared no need to repay, because helping one another is "what makes America great." Later that evening, and on the rest of our trip, our daughter and I had fun kicking the ball, thanks to Annie and her husband - THANK YOU!!! We stayed here eight years ago and we will stay here in on our next visit to Cheyenne!

A special shoutout to Tosha at the reception desk, who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She greeted me warmly, invited me to spin the prize wheel (where I won $20 off my room!), and even handed me a handwritten welcome note. When you spend as much time as I do in hotels, it's those thoughtful touches that really make a difference. Thank you for making my stay such a positive experience--I'll definitely be back!

Dirty carpet and furniture in the room, thin walls, bathroom faucet was so short you could hardly wash your face. I came in at 10, and left at 6. Lack of rooms along busy I-80 will keep this property flailing along. so sad.

We were traveling with our dog. No further storm issues. Gas was &2.98 gal. We are from Washington State so the gas prices were like Christmas. Breakfast was typical of Best Western. Better than some. We had some food in the refrigerator. We did not realize that the temperature knob was not there. So when we packed out in the AM all of our stuff was frozen. My husband went downstairs to check out and talked to a young man about the issue. He dismissed my husband with "people do things like that". My husband repeated that our food was frozen and the man behind the counter turned his back and repeated the same thing. No I am really sorry, or anything. We weren't looking for anything but it would have been nice to have someone at least acknowledge what we said. Not impressed with him. A few other issues. Bathroom door would not stay open (annoying), and beds were fairly hard. Over all a good place to stay. We found out as we were leaving that there was a tornado touch down 20 miles from us. A message to all the hotels. When we have to climb in and out of a tub, we need to have grab bars. Some tubs are very high. And we need toilets that aren't so close to the ground. Not everyone needs a handicap room but we all deserve safety .
