They couldn't take me in right then but put me on the list and told me to call them in about an hour. Came to get muffler and exhaust fixed. Good pricing, BUT their website says they are open till 6pm on weekdays. My fiance and I got here at 5:00 to get my keys and pay. We walked up to the door, that still says open, just to their from their technicians that their boss left, they don't know how to pay people out, no call from the owner to let us know...NOTHING. We drove 50 minutes with no warning, no courtesy call that they are liars when it comes to their hours. I pulled up and they immediately waved me into an open bay and they lifted my car up and they had me come out in like 3 minutes and they told me the problem, the solution, and the cost ($175). The regular mechanic I go to told me they'd have to replace the whole exhaust system for $1300! (To their credit though they did tell me to try Mad Hatter.) These guys are no nonsense get the job done! All they do is mufflers and they do a great job. They are fair and won't rip you off. I got a quote from another place to fix a hole in my RAV4 muffler. I was told it would be $400-$600 because they had to replace the whole muffler. We instead took it here and they fixed it and I was out the door with a fixed muffler for $78! A defective weld at the muffler broke. To replace the muffler by buying at an auto parts place would have been between $150 and $300 plus small parts and my labor to install outside in the winter. At the Mad Hatter Muffler Center, they explained the muffler was fine. and they could repair the defective part as well as another pipe that would soon fail for around $175. To me a no brainer Go ahead. Granted the replacement pipes were non OEM parts but were warranty for at least a year. I was showed everything needed and offered that I could pick and choose. My car was making awful noises so I took it to Firestone where I was told my muffler was broken and it would cost over $1,000 to fix because they would have to replace it. Thank goodness the employee at Firestone told me about Mad Hatter Muffler. I'm glad I read the reviews about this place first so I knew that they don't do appointments, you just show up and it's first come first serve. They open at 8AM so I showed up at around 7:30AM and there were already about 8 people in front of me in line. We checked in at the front desk and waited in our cars for someone to come grab us. I think it only took a little over an hour for someone to come get me. They employee drove my car onto the lift, lifted the car up and showed me what was going on with my muffler. He told me it would take 20 minutes to fix and cost about $60. It probably took 15 minutes and I paid $64.50. I'm so thankful to this place! Saved me over $1,000 and was quick. Great experience. Took my Lexus here a couple weeks ago. Dealership wanted $3200 for new catalytic converters/ I had dash lights everywhere. Went here for a second opinion. Shout out to TIMMY who found 2 small exhaust pipe leaks and did the repair for less than $150 Been 3 weeks and problem solved. TIMMY is a freekin master. He took me in the garage and showed me the system and how it works and why those dash lights were blowing up. There's no way a guy that young could possibly be the GOAT and yet.... there he is! I was told by my dealership that I needed a new Y-Pipe Assembly and the cost for them to replace it was over $1000. The dealership actually referred me to Mad Hatter as a cost effective alternative. I called Mad Hatter and they told me over the phone that this issue is common for my make of car and that they had a standard replacement kit that would fix the issue for less than half the cost of OEM. I went there with full intentions to purchase the kit and upon inspection, they told me that all I needed was a small section of pipe welded in and it would resolve my issue. Not only did that work but the overall cost was less than $100. I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate their high level of honesty and customer service. My car was making a lot of weird rumbling sounds and I went to a different shop (Midas) and they told me the repair would cost 1000 dollars - that it was my catalytic converter. After calling my car dealership they told me to go to Mad Hatter as they were who my dealership uses and usually less expensive. I went there and they ended up fixing my car issue for $83 dollars. It was a damaged S pipe and not the catalytic converter. I can't begin to tell you how appreciative I am for them doing such a good job finding the issue (which is not what Midas had said) and fixing it for such a reasonable price. It also has a 1 year warranty. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with muffler or exhaust issues. read more

Last Fall my son (attending OSU) had the catalytic converter stolen out of his 2006 Toyota Prius when it was parked in front of his apartment. Being from MA, I read the reviews on muffler shops in the Columbus, OH area before sending him to this shop. They gave him an estimated replacement cost of $850. When he picked up the car (8/27/2021) they said the bill was $960.86 and that the extra charge was because they had to replace the O2 sensor too. Fast forward to 2/11/2022, the car was brought in for its annual emissions test in MA which it failed due to a missing O2 sensor. An inspection under the car reviled that the new converter has a metal hex plug in the location where the O2 sensor should have been installed, and immediately next to this were the four clipped wires from the original sensor. Had my Catalytic Converter Stolen They accepted my vehicle towed in to them at the first call. They were honest, prompt, communicative, and helpful. The charged me a fair amount, replacing my cat and a downstream O2 sensor and were also able to weld these back on, as opposed to buying an entire exhaust system. Did not charge me for labor, I suspect they are making a little bit on their wholesale for parts. I utilized them once before for a weld at my muffler and they only charged me $40, were finished in a few hours. They offer after hours pickup, but make sure to be very specific about which vehicle is yours, including color/bumper stickers/make/year/model. Only great experiences here. read more

Brought Sweetie's car here for a small leak, left even happier with Mad Hatter than before. They were busy when I got there at 1030am but not packed. Got my car right in, showed me what was wrong, fixed it- for free, since it was a small hole where they had welded it before. Like, 5 years before, so I would not have been surprised to be charged for that. Plus, showed me that the rest of the exhaust is in good shape, easing my fears. In and out in 15 minutes for free. Last visit was a little longer, for free advice and a great recommendation. Visit before that was a cheap price for a repair that lasted 5 years, on an old car exhaust in Ohio. Super friendly people, great prices, great service. I will gladly bring our cars here for the next exhaust issue, and recommend these folks to anyone needing exhaust work. Went in for a custom exhaust. Turned out well but less than a year later, the welds started to completely deteriorate and the exhaust is awful now. Went in to get it fixed and they helped, but the same thing happened. Welds completely failed, so i'm not even bothered to try with these guys again. Reasonable pricing? Sure, but I basically tossed my money away. Reliable and quality work? From what i've seen, far from it.
