It is so easy to feel intimidated when car troubles arise but I've been going to Paul and his team for the last 2 years for my little beater Honda and he keeps it running well for me. One time I came in with my side mirror knocked off and he helped me replace it with a scrap just to get me by until I could get it fixed. He's suggested a class to teach people who are intimidated about cars how to do tasks like changing a tire, or the oil in case of emergencies. He's flexible as well. Dublin was significantly less expensive than my dealer; they got me in for an appointment quickly and the actual charges were less than they originally quoted me. I dropped my car off in the morning and we agreed that I would come back by noon to get it. I got a call mid-morning telling me that one of the parts came in late and that it may be a little after noon before the car was ready. I came at 12:30 and everything was good to go. He and another mechanic diagnosed it within 10 minutes (broken muffler) and we made a plan for me to bring in the car the next morning to have it fixed. I've been taking my car to DRAC for about a year and a half now and I've never been disappointed or received shady advice. I've had oil changes, rotations, wiper blades, a tire sealed, and, recently, a tire patch. Yesterday I woke up to a nearly flat tire. I pumped it up and made it to work, but knew it needed looked at. With an inflexible work schedule and traveling from downtown, I didn't make it until 30 min. until close. The guys could have told me to come back tomorrow or could have given me a hard time, but instead they were very kind and understanding and my tire was plugged in 20 minutes flat. This was my first experience with Dublin Road Auto Care and it was good one. If you are looking for "cheap, quick and easy" then this isn't your repair facility. The staff here take the right amount of time to evaluate your car and let you know about things that could effect you down the road. I was in need of an oil change and my SUV wasn't running right. I called and asked when I could schedule an appointment and was told they could take me immediately. After giving my truck a complete inspection, they found the source of my indentified problem and some I didn't know about. On top of that, they found errors caused by my previous repairman that could have caused major problems for me. For example, the "used" tires that I purchased were 10 years old and designed for a car - not a large SUV like mine. These folks did an excellent job getting my truck back to where it needed to be and on the road again. The price was within the quote but still high for my liking... but the money they saved me from not having an accident or preventable damages far outweigh it. I will use their services again... in the next 4000 miles for my oil change. read more

Paul, one of the owners, is from Vermont. He gave me his card and told me to give him a call if I need anything once I move. But that's not to undersell all the guys working there. I have to do an update for this place because I only gave them 4 stars the first time and they really need 5. I just got my 75K service the other day, and I've gone there consistently for everything I needed the last few years. I always deal with Paul and he knows me and my car. Whenever I go there they do up an estimate for you before they start. Last time I was there, the initial estimate was low but he ended up having to spend more labor time than anticipated. So when he billed me the same figure at the end, I pointed out he needed to raise the labor time and re-bill me. He said "We want your business, not your money." That's the way to run your business. They never nickel-and-dime me, and we've built a relationship. This is why I'll continue to go there as long as I live in Columbus. read more

I cannot echo the "Honest and Good Service" story more than what's already been written. My husband and I were traveling from Maryland to Minnesota and had just gotten done doing quite a bit of work to our vehicle. As we were continuing our trip through Ohio, we recognize the truck was not operating as it normally would (making a grinding type noise). At 7:15 am - we had pulled off the highway to investigate. While he was researching the vehicle - I was on Yelp looking for places to get the vehicle fixed. After stumbling across Dublin Road Auto Care - I knew we were in luck. We walked in to the repair shop shortly after they opened for the day. Paul greeted us and asked how he could help. Shortly after talking with him, he offered to repair the vehicle. Not only did he offer to repair the vehicle, he offered his employee room for us to rest. While working through the maintenance on our vehicle, he continuously offered to educate us as to what he was doing. Coupled with this, the repairs that we had done to the vehicle would have taken days at any other shop - took Paul and his team 3-3.5 hours.... Paul is amazing. I've always been on the search for a tried and true....honest shop. He met and surpassed every bit of expectations we had. To the point that we had even asked him to do more work - than what our initial issue was! Only because we wanted to spend our dollars at his shop (as opposed to a local shop in Maryland). The mechanics at the place are some of the most honest people in auto service that I have ever met. They get the work done quickly. I have taken my car there for several repairs and have never had to wait more than a day for it to be fixed. Also, everytime I have gone, I didn't need an appointment and someone was available to do an oil change right away. My car has a broken hood latch that doesn't always close all the way. My cousin said she's always had a good experience here, so I called to schedule an appointment. I was told I could just stop in right away and he would fix it for free -- especially due to the potential danger of my hood not completely closing. Paul was great, quickly figured out how to fix it, and showed me how to fix it so I could do it in the future. He then had me do it myself so this could stop being an issue with my car. I will never, ever, ever take my truck anywhere else. As others have noted, they are incredibly honest, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. My brother and I have saved a lot of money coming here and recommend it to all of our friends. They recommended I not replace a faulty oxygen sensor as it was the backup sensor for my car and was not affecting my mileage or anything else and they helped my brother with a large issue on his car and then the warranty when the replaced part failed close to the warranty date. My roommate also went there recently to get her oil changed and they found large metal shavings in the oil and said she only had about 3 weeks left of driving the car before it died. I stopped in today due to low tire warning. I had dropped my wife off for a Dr. appt. close by. I was out of town as I live outside of Mount Vernon. He had me pull my car into his garage and he check all four tires and added air where needed, He also check tires for any nails and etc. Charged me nothing. For car repairs/check-ups, it doesn't get much better than this. In the past, I have come here several times for routine oil changes - both with and without appointments. The guys who work here are honest about the products they use and the prices they charge. I've been to several other places where they try to make me buy a new air filter and/or windshield wipers and then end up putting the cheapest oil in my car. The guys at Dublin use quality products that last longer (more time in between oil changes!) and have never told me I need to change anything other than what was absolutely necessary, which up until recently just involved oil changes. They also always ask if I have coupons - so maybe search a little on the web before your appointment? Despite moving around the country for the past six months, I held off on my 50k tuneup until I could get back to these guys. I was not only greeted with fresh coffee and internet service while I waited, but was invited back to their shop if I wanted to watch everything they were checking. I've been traveling around the country recently and could tell my tires were almost dangerously worn. Despite expecting/knowing this, the guy working on my car still took me around to each tire to show me how low the tread had gotten and why (for my safety) I needed new tires immediately. Expecting to have to come back for this, I was surprised when he said it would only take another hour as they would go pick up the tires right then so that I wasn't driving a ticking time bomb. And because he was already in for the 50k, he also waived most of the labor cost. Finally, before coming in, the light on my car kept indicating that one of my tire pressure monitors was off/not working. The guy working on my car said it should reset with the new tires, but if not I could take it to his son's shop for free where they have a big computer tool to reset it. This is the first car repair shop I've been to that has restored my confidence that there are still good and honest mechanics out there. If you're in Columbus, this is the best place for you, your wallet, and your car. PS - The owners dog usually is also hanging around to play with, if you're a dog person. read more

I took my car here because it was stalling out in idle. During the first week it was there, I had to call multiple times to get updates on it's progress - it almost felt like they forgot to work on it at times. After it was there for two full weeks, they called and said they couldn't figure out what the issue was. They replaced some gaskets and added 1 quart of oil. Between these basic repairs and the time they spent "looking at it" I was given a bill for $500. The car literally stalled out on my way home that evening. I called them back the next day to explain that the car wasn't fixed and asked if it had stalled on them at all - I was shocked to hear that they hadn't ever taken it for a test drive to diagnose the problem. I also asked them if they had checked multiple parts to see if they were causing the issue (I obtained the list after a quick google search of car engines stalling in idle) and they said that they hadn't checked any of those either. They said I could bring the car back in and they would "look it over" again but didn't mention anything about a discount or refund for their previous "work". Fed up, I decided to take the car to Northend Wrench in Clintonville. The mechanics there called me 2 hours after I brought it in and said it had a bad mass air flow sensor - parts and labor was $400 and it runs like new. Under no circumstances would I return to Dublin Road Auto Care as I was clearly ripped off. read more
