Bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich with sweet potato fries
    Lauren P.

I've visited Mad Rooster multiple times, and every time I've been there I've always been pleasantly surprised! The menu is huge, which I don't always like but because Mad Rooster does a good job with everything they serve, they can pull it off. I've tried a few different dishes and have liked them a lot. This weekend, I got the bacon, egg and cheese bagel with an upgraded side of sweet potato fries. The scrambled eggs were loaded onto the bagel, but not so much so that I didn't know where to start. I loved the melted cheese on top. Mad Rooster doesn't take reservations, but you can join the waitlist from afar by going to their website. You'll get a text notification confirming that you joined, and right before your table is ready, you'll get a text saying "you've been removed from the waitlist". Don't be alarmed! This doesn't mean you've lost your spot in line, it means you're almost ready to be seated. The place is always super busy (green flag!) so make sure you get on that wait list unless you're willing to wait 45+ minutes on a weekend morning.

Stopped by Mad Rooster while in Milwaukee and was really impressed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were generous, definitely enough to leave you full. The atmosphere has a cozy, farmhouse feel that makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and there was plenty of seating, so we didn't feel crowded. I'd definitely stop here again the next time I'm in the area.

We were down in the area and decided to give this place a try, and glad we did! We were very impressed by how many people and cars were here, and were expecting to wait a half hour, but got seated almost immediately, quite impressive. We ordered our food and got it quick. Service was good, food was also good with large portions . The inside itself was large, and buzzing with people chatting, wet welcoming . We will definitely be coming back, great first experience !

I was a little bit disappointed . I felt rushed . They were very subtle . The food was fine. It was crowded and busy. You can put your name on the wait list! It is casual . I like the Kenosha one much better . I tried this one a couple of times before with a better experience so I am not sure

I went with my family and we got the Mexican steak bowl, salmon and eggs and the classic breakfast. The ham was so delicious very juicy and tender. The salmon was okay very smokey. The bowl is amazing the steak is very tender and juicy complimenting the runny eggs and avocado. As for the service magnificent, our server was very kind and very welcoming The ambiance was okay its very crowded along with a very long wait time. Cons- The glasses were a little foggy. other than that this place is definitely a must!!

My friend and I are here when we were visiting Milwaukee and we were so impressed! The decor is all rustic farmhouse but still cozy. The service was quick and extremely friendly and accommodating. The coffee, iced and hot, hit the spot. My crepes were wonderful - made me do the happy dance! My friend got a skillet that was also delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped in passing by Wi... the staff was great and this veggie bowl had everything in it i love. The option off adding a protein was excellent. Nice clean restaurant and great music. Would come back if in the area.

Our food was excellent, and our waitress, Addy, was absolutely wonderful, attentive, friendly, and made our experience enjoyable overall. Unfortunately, our first impression upon arrival was very disappointing. As we were entering, part of our group was holding the door open for a man using a walker, while others were holding it for the rest of our party to come in behind us. A hostess (blonde hair, snakebite piercing, no visible name tag) addressed us in a tone that felt aggressive and inappropriate for a front-of-house interaction, saying, "Can you close that door?" One of my friends, who is deaf, responded, "Sorry, what?" The hostess repeated herself more sharply, "Close the door, it's cold." When we explained that we were holding it for others, she replied, "Well, can you wait until they're closer? It's cold in here," and gave us a noticeably rude look. This happened immediately upon entering, without any greeting or welcome, which made for a very uncomfortable start to our visit. As someone who manages a restaurant in Milwaukee, I understand how important first impressions are, and this was one of the worst I've experienced. To add to this, the same employee later checked on our table but behaved noticeably differently with us compared to others. She was also very loud while interacting with a nearby table--laughing and flirting in a way that drew attention from multiple guests, many of whom appeared visibly uncomfortable. While we truly appreciated the quality of the food and Addy's service, the initial interaction and overall conduct from the hostess significantly impacted our experience. It is such a shame because the food and waitstaff was absolutely amazing. It's also disappointing to see that responses to reviews appear to be AI-generated through Yext rather than thoughtful, direct replies. It gives the impression that guest feedback isn't being genuinely heard or addressed, especially when issues like this seem to point to larger management concerns.

First time here. Was very impressed. Would come back. It was mid-morning on a Thursday. They were busy but not packed. Got seated right away, and our server checked in with us. The server was super good. The waters, beverages, and food were all delivered in efficiency and warm smiles. Thanks Abby! We got a Breakfast Burrito and the Home Made Yogurt. Everything was hot, flavorful, and good portions. The yogurt was especially good, with sliced almonds and just the right amount of honey drizzle. Definitely would put this on this list of excellent breakfast places.

Omg-love this place and will definitely be back-highly recommend! The service was wonderful, we got there at a great time and was seated immediately. When we left there was a line out the door and the inside waiting area was packed. The menu was great, lots of amazing options which made it hard to pick! We ordered the Mad Bloody-it was SO GOOD-loved the deviled egg on top. I ordered the avocado, salmon Benedict with upgraded potatoes. Portions were huge. The potatoes alone could have been a meal-absolutely loved them. Ended up saving them and having it for breakfast the next day. The food was truly outstanding, unique and service was top notch. Highly recommend and will be back. Service was great and restaurant was clean.

I always rave about the brunch here. One of my girlfriends and I were looking for somewhere to eat one morning and we drove past here! The granola pancakes, red potatoes, and mimosas were so delicious. I will say that we also tried the cinnamon crunch French toast and I a huge fan. It was cold, and kinda tough to eat overall so we left that alone. The service was great, as always. The staff is so friendly.

You can assume that the inside is farm themed and it is! Very cozy and lots of space. My family and I have been many times. With about 15, 8, and 5 people. Making a reservation is easy and we've always been seated rather quickly. Every waiter and server we've had has always exceeded our expectations! The food tastes great! I love their mimosas! Their potatoes are amazing!!! And I always like how they make their eggs. My most recent order was the stuffed French toast and it was so good, the cream was a Bavarian cream and it complemented the bread and fruits very well. I can't remember if this was a half or full order (sorry) but either one is worth it for me. Prices are similar to most breakfast places nowadays.

Strawberry Lemonade (alcohol version) and strawberry mimosa.

Not great ones, there's no alternative milk as of June 2021 so if you're Vegan or Dairy free and want a latte you're outta luck.

How much of their food is certified organic?

I arrived a little bit early, so decided to quiet the rumbling in my tummy by partaking of a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie. I don't need to eat gluten-free, but the cookie looked delicious, so I decided to give it a try. Am I glad I did! The cookie was wonderfully soft and chock full of mini chocolate chips. Unfortunately, like usual, I forgot to take a picture. What I did remember to take a picture of was the hoppel poppel. This German-Austrian dish was originally meant as a way to clear out one's pantry and refrigerator. Casera might not be cleaning out, but they ought to be cleaning up on this delectable menu item. Their version begins with the requisite potatoes and onions, but their meat selection, summer sausage, is not only very Wisconsin but very delicious. Cheese is also included, so since I'm not a huge cheese eater, I was pleased when the kitchen understood my request for a very light hand with it. The kitchen also understands how to make dry-scrambled eggs. I can't stop thinking about this dish and wondering when next I'll be able to enjoy it. I also ordered their black iced tea, which was strongly brewed (my personal preference over the pale stuff that too many places serve) and very refreshing. My brunch companion ordered the raspberry scone, and I was lucky enough to enjoy a bite. The scone was perfect--fluffy, wonderfully moist, and drizzled with just enough sweet icing. She also tried the special drink, which was a cherry cola coffee. This was not something she enjoyed. Unfortunately, she also struck out to a small degree on the Chilaquiles, which were, unfortunately, served with incredibly soggy tostada chips.

The food and service has always been good. Today, we ordered Chilaquiles with Carnitas added in a verde salsa, Corned Beef Hash, and sides of hashbrowns and 2 pancakes (instead of toast). The Chilaquiles were very good and the over easy eggs were perfect. The carnitas were tender and nicely seasoned. The housemade corned beef cubes were tender and the diced pan fried potatoes had a nice latin seasoning blend. I just wish the hash had diced bell peppers and onions. I also wish the poached eggs I asked for with the corned beef hash were cooked properly. I was expecting the type of poached eggs that are like small balloons waiting to be popped so the egg yolk oozes out over the corned beef hash. These poached eggs were over-cooked and looked un-appetizing, but tasted fine. The hashbrowns were perfect - crispy and tender and properly seasoned! The side of pancakes were fluffy and absorbed the syrup quickly. Overall a good visit. The food was mostly on point, except for the disappointing poached eggs and lack of onions and bell peppers often found in a hash. If I go back, I'll stay away from their benedicts (since poached eggs are not executed correctly, and corned beef hash, and instead stick with the Chilaquiles.
