This place gets packed, but the process of holding a spot in line makes it so easy. The staff were so so sweet and accommodating. They were so good with our toddler. I love how this spot focuses on local eats, made from scratch-- the use of olive oil on a lot of their dishes was a huge plus. I got the surf and Turk breakfast plate with eggs whites and potatoes. This dish was SO good. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The shrimp were super flavorful with garlic. I love their breakfast potatoes, very crispy and so tasteful. My daughter got the mini pancakes, which were technically just regular sized pancakes and she loved them! They had an amazing vanilla flavor. The next person got a meaty omelet that was HUGE and he ate it so quickly. The side of pork sausage links were a fan favorite. Lastly, the next person got the Grandmas Benedict which was so tasty! I decided to try something different and got the special Spanikopiomlette. Very disappointed! I have never had their omelettes before but it was really overcooked. Not fluffy at all! It was supposed to have feta in it and I could not taste the feta at all and the sauce on top was almost flavorless. It definitely looked better than it tasted. My son's eggs were also overcooked. Been here a couple times before. And it has always been good. It's a look of a house that has been repurposed into a restaurant. It has ample parking out front, with a few steps to the entrance. There is also a ramp for wheelchair access. Inside the decor is bright, with lots of natural light from the front windows. Booth and tables offer plenty of space for different size groups. This time came with a friend for breakfast. Arrived right at 7:30 so we got right in. There were several other tables there. Got a booth with a window facing the parking lot. The noise level was good, and allowed for easier conversation. The server quickly got us settled in with menu, and waters. We took a few minutes to order, and the server gave us space to leisurely figure out what to order. (The server did a great job during the entire meal). Ordered a Beet Salad and an Omelet. It was literally only 5 minutes before we got the food (that must a near record). Everything was hot, (or cold), and fresh. The omelet came with pancakes and fruit, with good portions. The Beet Salad was very good, but I felt that the portion on the small size. (and I'm not a big eater) We were there for about 2 hours, and never felt like we were a burden. We were up spending a day at the nearby Carma Labs, where they have inexplicably installed the Worlds largest and grandest Theatre Pipe Organ (a passion of mine since 1961). I hear they also make a fine line of lip balms. (Kidding-everyone knows "Carmex", one of life's little examples of a perfect product that does what it says it does and at a bargain price). At break, I hit the Yelps to ascertain a decent place to get brunch. I came across Mimosa here, and boy, was I glad! It's a nondescript place (like the best Wisconsin restos) EZ parking right in front. Inside, it's warm and heimelig (a bit of Deutsch worth looking up-it means "Cozy, like home"-and NOTHING to do with the anti-choking maneuver). The Coffee was GREAT, and that's always a harbinger the feed to follow is going to be fab. It was. I had a groovy Shrimp Omelette, the swimmers plump and fresh; with yummy taters on the side. I'm not usually a "breakfast tater" guy, but these were exemplary! My pals had picture-perfect breakfast plates of eggiwegs and all the sides. I associate this place with work (which I shouldn't) but it's very close to my HQ and I end up taking quite a few business meeting and meals here. I need to come back and just experience and enjoy a meal with my family. I feel like everything I've gotten there has always been fresh and tasty. I would say I've especially enjoyed the salads and most recently I had a breakfast yogurt parfait that was elaborate and delicious. It's really spacious and always seems super busy. I wish there was an option to add a bit of kale or spinach (or some kinda veggie) to add a little layer to the taste. Chicken and waffles Of all our orders, the most meh of the bunch. Waffles looked dry, and chicken was mediocre. Plus it was chicken breast, not chicken thigh (it says so on the menu). Gotta say, it was definitely a less heart-clogging option than the southern version, with caramelized waffles topped with fried chicken thighs smothered in sausage gravy. But not as tasty. French toast Gorgeous presentation, with cream and berries and powdered sugar. Friend who had it told me it wasn't as tasty as it looked. She was happy she was sharing with the shrimp omelette. Chicken Souvla bowl with chicken and veggies, topped with yogurt sauce, then topped again with eggs your way. Friend said it was good. Didn't try... but I'm not sure. I chose this place because of their clean ingredients. It's not often that you can find places that only cook with olive oil. My steak and eggs and potatoes were absolutely delicious and I felt confident eating them knowing I was on a whole30. All of my friends who were at brunch with me also very much enjoyed their brunch.
