Was supposed to paint pottery for valentines day but had to reschedule due to power outage. Even though we had to reschedule, she was so kind to give us out little valentine treat bag with our name on it. So glad we got to experience this place. Looks small from the outside but very spacious. The staff were very friendly, informative, and social distancing as much as you can. They wore facemasks for everyones protection. Mad Splatter was very fun. We didnt really need the entire hour time slot. My son said they should add more colors such as black and brown (he wanted a particular theme). We were able to leave our canvases there overnight to dry. We are definitely going back soon for pottery and canvas painting. Me my sister and my grandma went to mad splatter about 3 weeks ago. It was a fun experience but terrible customer service. My grandma accidentally knocked over a small 3 inch piece of pottery and one of the workers came over and said she had to pay for it even though it was an accident and there were several other of the same pieces. It was $12 with tax for that small little thing. I feel like they can't expect people to not drop things especially when you are allowed to pick things up and look at them. Also they have NOTHING hanging up anywhere that says if you break something you have to buy it. We were there for 3 hours painting and the whole time the girls working there kept looking at us. When we got up to pay the girl who told my grandma she had to pay for it whispered to her friend and sent her up to the register to check us out. She went down the list of what we got and goes, " And the thing you broke..." I didn't like that it was very rude. Later we called the manager, Kristen, and asked for the money back she said she would refund my grandma and she never did. Overall if you are looking for somewhere with nice workers and good customer service this is NOT the place to go. read more

Went in a few nights ago with a friend to have an enjoyable evening painting. Love the new location! Lots of space and looks very clean despite all the painting. LOL I understand this is a "set them up and let them go" type of place but it seems the staff is primarily kids that are too distracted by their cell phones. I feel the young girls working weren't very attentive to the customers there working on their paintings. We were told that easels are available and after we said yes we'd like to use them, they were never brought out. The workers don't at all check to see if you need fresh water for the table which would have been helpfully. We saw another couple taking water off an empty table so we did the same. Noticed the music went from Christmas music to some girls personal playlist which wasn't really our style of music. At least the Christmas music was something everybody is familiar with. Also you could hear rap music coming from another part of the building so it was both at once. Kind of music overload. Then walking into the building like a monkey or ape, waving your arms above you head while hunched over, after getting food I feel could come off as offensive! The girls working seem a bit immature an may need some kind of authority figure their to supervise. Only other issue was the paint brushes. Might want to go through them on a regular basis. If a flat brush is no longer flat maybe throw it away. Will most likely be back to the establishment in the further though! read more

They didn't honor a $25 gift card that was given to me by a friend shortly before the pandemic. I was so excited to finally have the chance to use it after not being to go during the height of covid, but it seems that in that time they changed their gift card system so the format of the code is different now and the people working the register weren't able to put in in their system. It even says on the gift card "valid until: not limited" so I had no reason to believe it wouldn't work after a bit of time had passed. Very disappointing as my friend already paid the $25 for the gift card and I had to pay another $25 for my pottery. That said, the girls working at the register were very kind and patient, and were only doing what the manager instructed which was to not honor the gift card. I think this place is super fun and I enjoyed my visit but that was a disappointment. read more

We took our 3 year old Grandson to The Mad Splatter for the first time last Friday. The staff was warm and friendly. Such a wonderful experience! Anna greeted us with a bright welcoming smile. Anna took us on a tour, going over the paint selections and answered all our questions. The selection of ceramic pieces to choose from was half the fun! I came in today to pick up "Our Masterpieces". Anna recognized me right away, had everything carefully wrapped up and ready to go. We will definitely be back! read more

Horrible experience. Went with my grandchildren and was made to feel so uncomfortable. Would never recommend and would never return.

I had an awesome time for moms night out. The owner was very accommodating and we had a blast. I walked away with my first masterpiece, which I never thought could happen. I would highly recommend this place for a girls night out. BTW. I called today and they offer a drop and shop. My daughter has been wanting to paint so I am going to drop her off while I do some Christmas shopping. I would highly recommend this location. read more

My kids love to come here and paint pottery. They have a wide selection of pottery and of course you can paint on canvas.

I used to go to pottery painting a lot as a child and now that I'm older my mother and I enjoy going and painting more useful things like the pet bowls or platters. This is the only place local to where I live now and it's pretty much like all the others I've been too. Only down side is here they don't allow you to pour your own paint so you can get stuck waiting a while for an employee to be available to get you more paint. Plus they only give you a little at a time so you have to keep going back if you are painting a large area. I also wish they had more colors to choose from cause it's quite limited and if you go often enough you start to get bored using the same colors over and over. They have great hours though and a helpful staff. Painting canvas options seem fun as well but I'm not confident enough in my abilities to try it. read more

A favorite date activity! The girls are so sweet and helpful. We have been twice and the first time (around Christmas) they had tons of options to paint. The second time they had very few pieces for us to choose from. :(. We will still be back to give it another chance to stock back up! read more

I really love this location of Mad Platter and have been a customer for over 10 years between birthday parties, summer camps, Girl Scout events and personal visits. Very affordable as these things go and a lot of fun. For adult parties there are no studio fees- just the cost of the pottery. read more

I was hoping this would be a memorable experience. Booked a party package for my daughter on May 3rd for Saturday May 6. The description read that private parties includes and artist and step by step instructions. Arrived 30 mins ahead of my 5:30 party time to setup for my guests. Guests arrive, we get them seated and a staff member begrudgingly came into the party room and left us with an instruction methodology of how to paint. I asked for a manager and was told they were not available. The party ended and I sent an email explaining my discontent. Instead of the Meredith (the owner) addressing my concerns she offered a gift certificate my daughter and I to return. She didn't address why we didn't have an instructor or anything. Instead she went to her website and CHANGED THE POLICY. Luckily I have a copy of the the policy at the time I booked the party. Shady business practices! read more

Can be expensive!! With the studio fee and then the pricy pottery it definitely adds up! Also if you run off the "studio fee" you have to pay an extra fee. Like the place; just wish it wasn't so expensive!! read more

I love that the Mad Platter has a large selection of pottery to choose from and has a pretty quick return time! They say it takes about 10 days before you can get your piece(s), but I usually get mine within 4-5 days. The atmosphere is generally pleasant in terms of being in a close space with other customers. There are children there almost every time I've been, which is fine with me, but may be distracting or annoying to others at times. The only downsides of the Mad Platter, I would say, are both the pricing and the employees at times. The pottery + the studio fee cost certainly adds up, and can only be a seldom activity for someone on a tighter budget (like me)! Also, I've found the staff to be hit or miss- sometimes I go and the staff working are sweet, friendly and very accommodating and other times I have been and different staff have seemed bored, or bothered to serve you. Overall it's a great plate, which is why I've come multiple times! read more
