This Made In Oregon store is located in the lower level of the Pioneer Place Mall in downtown Portland. There are eight other locations of Made In Oregon stores. This store is spacious, neat and well organized. The merchandise at this location seems geared more towards tourists than locals. They carry beautiful Pendleton merchandise, chocolates by Moonstruck, souvenir items like T-shirts and magnets, soaps and lotions, wine and food items and much more. Everything is nicely displayed. The salesperson who assisted me was pleasant. I didn't notice the usual abundance of sport fan merchandise that other Made In Oregon stores carry. There was some jewelry but not the selection that I found at their airport store. There was very little of the PDX carpet merchandise. Still, it's a fun store to browse if you're in the area.

An Oregon souvenir shop, on steroids. They've been here forever it seems. No other store compares, it's a pretty good collection of all kinds of Oregon stuff. Some of it expensive, like Pendleton Blankets or inexpensive like fudge. Excellent Oregon wine choices. Seems like people's mothers work there, they are very nice and ready to help you.

This place had a little something for everyone in my family. I was pretty much able to knock everyone off of my list. Which ranged from nephews, co workers, friends, and family. The cashier was also courteous enough to extra bubble wrap my sea salt saying they were packaged in glass containers and they could break. I thought it was nice since it didn't even occur to me that they were glass and how disappointed I wouldve been if I shoved them in my carry on and they broke on the way home. Also, be sure to check in so you get your free Portland chocolate bar. It was a great extra to gift to my nephews who I heard gobbled it up as soon as they received it.

What's not to love about a store specializing all things about the place you are visiting or living in? I was able to get some pretty unique refrigerator magnets for my coworkers at the main work site (in New Orleans, LA) who had never visited Portland. Even when I lived in Oregon full time, I would shop here for gifts for those who were out of town, and family. The location of this Made in Oregon store is on the bottom level of Pioneer Place, the level below where you enter, joining the two buildings together. Cell phone reception was spotty so by the time the YELP page loaded, I had already left the store, so I didn't realize they had a check-in offer of chocolate until I was on my way out. The staff are awesome. I had left my wallet with my ID in it, and they held it until the next day when I was able to return, and had me describe my wallet in order to be able to claim it. That is awesome. There are tons of unique gifts here, and they also have an assortment of Harry and David items, which is great since Harry and David are located in Oregon. Wines, beers, jellies, clothing, sports ball gear, even the major universities are represented well with what you can buy here. Plenty of Pendleton Wool products as well!

This is how the package was delivered! 2 apples and a pear

Ask the Community - Made In Oregon

Are the prices the same at every store? Is the airport store more expensive?

The Portland Airport requires all retailers to provide customers the same prices we charge in all of our mall stores. All of Made in Oregon's prices are the same regardless of which nine stores you purchase at, including the airport.

This Kinokuniya is the best option for Japanese stationary products in greater Portland. There's…read moreanother much smaller one embedded in the Uwajimaya Asian Market in Beaverton. My Son led me here last weekend when I was in town. There was lots of notebooks, pens, and other stuff to consider, and having a Kinokuniya membership (10% off) was a bonus. David was more interested in the manga books, and we were happy browsing in our own little corners. We both happily came away with a small collection of treasures and a promise to return. There were lots of folks here, making the aisles a little tight. But checkout moved quickly and efficiently.

Had a really great visit to this newer Kinokuniya Bookstore. You wouldn't necessarily know it was…read morea Japanese bookstore if you just walked by because it's a little bit tucked in - however it looks like they reused an old movie theater sign to help get your attention. The store is much larger than the one in Chicago! So of course there was a much wider selection of goods, including a lot more Alien Stage items (know the teens are a fan of this show). We ended up signing up for the annual membership which gives you 10% off your purchase immediately and you rack up points (who doesn't love points) which will add up to more savings. We purchased a hard to find art book. Service was friendly, and answered all the questions we had on the membership, not rushing us at all to make the decision.
